1 RC View DAT Dispatch: Quick Sheet Using the Duty Officer Dashboard Relevant To: Duty Officer Introductory Information The Duty Officer Dashboard provides ready access to a range of data and functions that Duty Officers need to perform their job effectively. The dashboard comprises a number of tabs, and this quick sheet introduces you to each of them (for more general information, please see the Introduction to DAT Dispatch Dashboards). In instances where your work at a tab can be quickly described, the document provides you the needed steps; in other cases, it points you to other quick sheets that feature the needed details. To access the Duty Officer dashboard, hover over Home and select Duty Officer from the drop-down menu. Events 2016 American Red Cross Page 1 of 8

2 At the Events tab you can: Calls Create a new call log and, as appropriate, a new event/dispatch (for details, see the following quick sheets) o Introduction to DAT Dispatch o Logging a Call o Creating and Dispatching an Event from a Call Create an event that does not source from a call (for details, see the Creating an Event that Does Not Source from a Call quick sheet) Work with events from your region from the prior three months that require immediate Red Cross action (events drop off of this list when their Event Status is no longer Dispatch or Assignment) Work with events from your region from the prior three months that need Red Cross action but were not marked as needing immediate action (events drop off of this list when their Event Status is no longer Dispatch or Assignment Perform a search to locate specific events (for details, see the Searching for an Event quick sheet) Open an existing event for editing (for details, see the Updating an Event or Call s Details quick sheet) At the Calls tab you can: Create a new call log and, as appropriate, a new event and dispatch (for details, see the following quick sheets) o Introduction to DAT Dispatch o Logging a Call 2016 American Red Cross Page 2 of 8

3 o Creating and Dispatching an Event from a Call Create an event that does not source from a call (for details, see the Creating an Event that Does Not Source from a Call quick sheet) View call records from your region from the prior three months where Red Cross action was not required Perform a search to locate specific calls (for details, see the Searching for a Call quick sheet) Open an existing call for editing (for details, see the Updating an Event or Call s Details quick sheet) Dispatcher Wiki At the Dispatcher Wiki tab you can: View and share information through the Dispatcher Wiki widget; to add information there: o Click into the text box o Enter your text o Use the EDITING OPTIONS that appear when you click into the text box to format your entry and add hyperlinks, if desired View information that has been shared by Disaster Cycle Services leadership in the Other Important Notes widget 2016 American Red Cross Page 3 of 8

4 Webpages You can link to helpful web sites at the Webpages tab. Current Calls & Events Maps At the Current Calls & Events Maps tab you can: View a map displaying all of your region s calls and events created in the prior 72 hours View a map displaying all of your region s responses from the prior 48 hours Click a call or event icon to view a pop-up with details and options to: o Zoom to the call or event s location on the map (Zoom to) o View the call or event record (View Event) o (Note that we are currently not using the Allocate resources link) 2016 American Red Cross Page 4 of 8

5 Click and drag on the map to pan to a different location Use the map s Zoom in (or + icon) and Zoom out (or icon) options Use the View button to select a different basemap Contacts At the Contacts tab you can: Set your notification preferences (for details, see the Setting User Preferences quick sheet) Access a regional colleague s contact information in the My Regional Contacts section (by default, the contact records appear in alphabetical order by Full Name, but you can sort by Position or Organization instead, if desired; double-click to open a contact record) Create a new Non-Volunteer Connection Contact (for details, see the Creating a Non- Volunteer Connection Contact quick sheet) 2016 American Red Cross Page 5 of 8

6 My Schedules At the My Schedules tab you can: View your upcoming shifts (those that have not yet expired) in the My Shifts widget o You can search for a subset of your shifts by: Clicking on some date in the are not finishing before some date filter Using the calendar widget to select an End Date And then clicking Apply User Rules (The system returns shifts with an End Date on or after the date you selected) Schedule yourself for upcoming shifts through the My Schedules widget (for details, see the Scheduling Yourself for Upcoming Shifts quick sheet) 2016 American Red Cross Page 6 of 8

7 Analytics At the Analytics tab you can view widgets that display DAT Dispatch metrics. These metrics, which are still being developed, will include: Regional Calls per Day (Within 7 Days) Regional Year to Date Response Statistics Average Dispatch Time Average Response Time Dispatch Documents 2016 American Red Cross Page 7 of 8
