1 CALIBRATION HI 2151/30 TRADITIONAL HARD CALIBRATION Motion Net ZERO Trk CTR Zero Gross lb Mode kg Tare Print ZERO Test/Clr 0.00 Enter Exit Cal The configuration menu information is entered two ways. o Selection inputs (like graduation sizes) use the up and down arrows. o Variable inputs (like averages, span, or motion tolerances) press the Test/Clr button and type in the entry numbers. Pressing Enter will display the contents of a menu subject. The up and down arrows will move from subject to subject. Pressing the ZERO button in any entry field will advance to the next menu item without making the change. The Exit button will take you back one level in the menu. Continuing to press Exit will return you to the weight display. Pressing Enter at ENDCAL is the only correct way to Pressing the EXIT button to leave calibration results in odd entries, notably averages will become 100 or 200. SEC CD 1. Make sure the controller is in Gross Mode. Note the red LED in the status bar. 2. Press the Cal/8 button. Security code (SEC CD) is displayed. a. Err 5, you are in the NET mode. 2 Press the Enter button. A flashing zero (0) 4. Enter the security code (5321). 5. Press Enter. Note: An alternative to the security code is to toggle the CAL dipswitch at the rear of the panel. U N I T 6. The word UNIT Note, the three LED s (Zero Track, Motion, and CTR Zero) start to flash on the left side of the status display. The LED s flashing in position indicated the instrument is in the calibration configuration program. When exiting the program properly, these lights will terminate and the information will be automatically written to the Secure Memory Module (SMM). Pressing the Exit key to terminate this program will result in unpredictable updating to the menu. The three LED s are also used as an indication the scale is stable and it is OK to press Enter to accept the ZERO, SPAN, or Reference Point menu selections. In the following instructions, you are instructed to wait 12 seconds or until the three LED s are synchronized on and off.
3 C A L 7. Press the down arrow twice until CAL 8. From this CAL Sub-Menu, press the Enter button. HD CAL 9. The Hard Calibration Menu HD CAL display This is the Traditional Calibration where the scale is empty, ready for product and then a certified weight is applied at the SPAN point to perform the calibration. 10. Press the Enter button. The Gross Zero menu ZERO Z E R O 11. Press the Enter button. A dash (-) Press the (Test/Clr) button to clear the dash and 0.0 (zero value will be displayed). 13. Remove all product and test weights from the scale. The scale must be clean and in a ready to receive product condition. 14. Wait 12 seconds or until the three flashing LED s are synchronized.
4 * * * * * * 15. Press the Enter button. One of the following will happen. ***** a. Error, verify error message in the back of the manual. b. Good, SPAN c. WAIT, or WAIT1, WAIT2, WAIT3, WAIT4. GOOD and then SPAN S P A N 16. The Zero is now set and the Span sub-menu SPAN 17. Place a test weight equal to 80% to 100% of the expected product load of the scale. 18. Press the Enter button. 19. A dash (-) 20. Press the (Test/Clr) button to clear Use the numeric keys to enter the value of the test weight(s) applied to your scale. 22. Wait 12 seconds or until the three flashing LED s are synchronized. * * * * * * 23. Press the Enter button to set the span value. One of the following will happen. ***** a. Error, verify error message in the back of the manual. b. Good, LINCOR
5 LINCOR 24. Press the Ener button. 0.0 appears for the Linear Correction Press the (Test/Clr) button twice to clear any Linear Correction. 995 of all scales do not use Linear Correction. 26. Press the Enter button, the RETURN display RETURN 27. Press the Enter button, the ENDCAL display ENDCAL At ENDCAL, press the Enter button, the weight display appears and will show the amount of Span weight on the scale.
6 Remove the test weights and verify the scale goes to ZERO. 30. Use a low and mid-range value test weight to verify the linearity of the scale system.
7 CALIBRATION HI 2151/30 C2 SECOND GENERATION CALIBRATION Motion Net ZERO Trk CTR Zero Gross lb Mode kg Tare Print To perform C2 calibration, the load cells must be C2 capable. If the load cells have violet and gray wires, they are C2 capable. ZERO Test/Clr 0.00 Enter Please note the unit must have the power cycled to read the C2 information from the load cells and this information is stored and retained until the unit s power is cycled without load cells attached. Cal Exit If you are not reading the correct number of load cells and the wiring is correct, contact Hardy s Tech Support for assistance. This is the number of load cells found on the system at the last power cycle. If this value is correct, continue. If not correct, press Exit then Enter at ENDCAL and cycle power. (Repeat from Step 1.)
10 REF PT 13. Press the Enter button. REF PT (Reference Point) This is the amount of material on the scale and is zero (0) if the scale is 19. Press the Enter button. A dash (-) Press the (Test/Clr) button to clear the dash and Enter the current Live Load Weight that is on the scale. Normally zero for an empty scale. 18. Wait 12 seconds or until the three flashing LED s are synchronized. * * * * * * 15. Press the Enter button. ****** a. Error i. Verify error message in the back of the manual. b. Wait, or (wait1, wait2, wait3, wait4) i. When equipped with an IT summing junction card. c. or, GOOD 14. The RETURN display RETURN
11 ENDCAL 20. Press the Enter button. The ENDCAL display a. The three flashing LED s terminate and the configuration information is written to the SMM. 23. Use a low and mid-range value test weight to verify the linearity of the scale system.
