3 Introduction Steganography is the art of hiding secrets in seemingly harmless files to protect information. The point of steganography is the fact that nobody will ever try to look for the secret file that was created, because they have no reason to believe that it exists in the first place. The process of encrypting data typically produces chunks of illegible scrambled text, which can alert 3rd parties to the fact that data is in fact encrypted. It is often vitally important that business information remains invisible when transmitted. But sending visibly scrambled and encrypted messages can be detected easily. Steganography solves this problem because it hides your sensitive information within image files such as holiday picture. The hidden files can be of any type and the number of files hidden per image is not limited. The hidden files have multiple layers of encryption and it would not be practical for anyone to try and decrypt. A Visual attack cannot be applied. This software can be used to store documents securely in one file. It could also be used to identify ownership of an image, by embedding a unique text file with owner details within the image or the owners logo. In fact giving the image a secret watermark or finger print. A visible water mark can also be added. This allows directories to be backed up securely and easily identified. The files are encrypted and stored in a Jpeg image. The files are first compressed and stored in a non-standard format. They then have two types of Encryption applied to the file. Next the file is encrypted again using a Unique password supplied by the user and finally it is encrypted again with a different key and merged with the image.the file created will look like any other image file and will be displayed as an image. The default setting points to My Pictures in the users document folders. Directory List You select the different folders to display the files in file list box. You also use the directory list box to change the default view of the image list. 4 / 16

5 File List This box displays the files within the folder selected via the directory list Files to Hide list This list will show the files that have been selected to hide in the image file. Preview Area This area will display the contents of a file if it can. 5 / 16

6 Image to hold hidden files This is the image that has been selected from the image list and will hold the hidden files. During Encryption and decryption The cancel button will only cancel at the end of the current task Clear File list Clears the current selected files in encryption list 6 / 16

By clicking on a image in the image list. This will then be displayed in the current selected file area 7 / 16

8 Next select a folder that contains the files you want to hide, by clicking on the folder in the directory list This will display the files in the file list. Double click on the file you want to hide in the image. This will then be added to the list of files to be hidden Repeat this process of adding file to the file list till all the files you want to hide have been added to the list. 8 / 16

9 Then done click on the Encrypt button above the current selected image. You will now be asked for a password. This password is used to encrypt the image and if you forget it, you can not recover it or decrypt the hidden files from the image. So it is important that you remember it. Enter the password twice in the fields and press accept. You will then be asked where to save the file. Select the folder etc. and give the file a name then press save. 9 / 16

10 A message box will then be displayed confirming where the file has been saved. The file saved now holds the files you selected within it. These files are encrypted and hidden. The file saved will appear just like one of your images and people will not know what it contains. 11 This will display the files in the file list. By clicking once on the file it will confirm that the image does contain hidden files. In the preview area there will be a message that says."file contains encrypted items". To retrieve these items double click on the file. A password box will be displayed. Enter the password used to encrypt the image originally and press accept. The files will be decrypted and a box will be displayed asking where would you like these files to be saved. Select the folder you want to save the files in and press OK. The files will be saved in the selected folder. The selected folder will have the original folder name where the file was originally obtained from. A message box will then be displayed reminding you of the selected folder. 11 / 16

Right click with the mouse and click on Set Picture Directory. The image view will then display the images in this folder as default. This will only work for some types of files. When you single click on a file this file is not added to the list of files to be hidden. You will be asked for a new password. Type it in twice and click on accept. The login password has now change. This cannot be retrieved if forgotten. 14 / 16

You must be connected to the internet to register the software. 15 / 16

16 If you do not have a serial number click on the payment button and this will take you to a web page where you can pay. Enter the serial number in the 4 boxes provided. You can also right click on the first box where it will allow you to paste the serial number in for you. Once the serial number has been entered click on the register button.
