1 TeleTrader Professional Version 8.1 introduces the new VWAP tool which lets you include the Volume Weighted Average Price in price pages. In addition, the integration of an RTD component offers an additional way to include real-time quote data in Microsoft Excel. The Highlights Volume Weighted Average Price (VWAP) tool for price pages Microsoft Excel RTD integration for real-time data Use TeleTrader Language functions in chartable expressions User Interface Open symbols from existing documents using a template For symbols that are already visible on the screen inside another document, you can now easily display the symbol in a different document type using a template: 1. Right-click on the symbol and choose Open. 2. Move the mouse pointer to a document type and right-click on it (or wait for a moment) an additional menu will appear to the right. 3. Choose a template from the list. A new document is opened for the symbol using this template. The option Using Template that was used in previous versions has been removed. Define favorite templates and default templates You can add your favorite templates to the list of document types that appears when right-clicking a symbol. 1. Right-click on a symbol and choose Open. 2. Move the mouse pointer to a document type and right-click on it (or wait for a moment) an additional menu will appear to the right. 3. Right-click on your favorite template another additional menu will appear. 4. Click Add to favorites. The favorites are shown in a separate section beneath the other document types. In the same menu, you can also easily change the default template. Analysis Tools New category for custom studies All custom studies are automatically added to the category Custom in the Study Editor. Price Page Volume Weighted Average Price (VWAP) tool for price pages The Volume Weighted Average Price (VWAP) of a stock over a specified market period is defined as the average price paid per share during that period (price of each transaction in the market weighted by its volume). It is calculated from the volumes and prices of all trades during a certain period of time. 1/5 May 2010
2 Price page documents in TeleTrader Professional can now be extended to show several VWAP columns: The Volume Weighted Average Price (VPrice) itself, its standard deviation (VStdDev), total volume (VVolume), average volume (VAvgVol) and the total number of transactions (VTrans) in the defined period. You can easily add the VWAP columns to an existing price page by right-clicking in the price page and selecting Insert VWAP Columns. By default, the VWAP is calculated over daily data. All parameters (custom time period, price and volume filters) can be adjusted to fit your needs. The settings can be changed in the VWAP Properties dialog that can be accessed by clicking the V-Button on the price page. You can also manually edit the appropriate VWAP range columns directly on the price page. Default settings for the VWAP tool can be set under Tools > Options > VWAP. Note Only for volume data from the XETRA(CEF) feeds, the columns Volume and VVolume might show different values, because CEF data feeds include some special order types in the total volume but do not show individual quote events. Editable column Text can be added via Properties dialog You can add an editable column called Text to your price pages. This column can for example be used to add remarks to VWAP documents. To edit the text, double-click on the cell or press F2. Coloring rows that contain old data also considers Bid and Ask dates On the Font tab in the Price Page Properties dialog, the option Use different color and font if last trade or quote is not from today can be used to automatically mark quotes that are not current. Previously, all data where the last trade did not occur on the same day (column Date) was marked as old now, Bid and Ask dates are also considered, which means that rows where bids and asks are being made but no trade occurred are shown as containing current data. DDE Use VWAP data in your spreadsheet software The VWAP (Volume Weighted Average Price) and its accompanying data columns (for example standard deviation, total volume etc.) can also be included in an Excel or Open Office spreadsheet using DDE links. You can transfer the data to your spreadsheet using the Copy command from a TeleTrader Professional price page. You can also manually create a DDE link using the following syntax (for example): =ProfDDE Live!'DE _ETR_CEF,VWAP(LH)[Price]' For more detailed information on the syntax used, consult the TeleTrader Professional User Guide. Use Market Depth data in your spreadsheet software In addition to quotes, you can also show market depth data in your spreadsheet software via DDE. Rightclick in the summary view of a market depth document and choose Copy, then paste the data into an Excel or Open Office spreadsheet. To manually create a DDE link with market depth data, use the following syntax (for example): =ProfDDE Live!'DE _ETR_CEF,MDBid[1]' For more detailed information on the syntax used, consult the TeleTrader Professional User Guide. 2/5 May 2010
3 RTD Microsoft Excel RTD integration for real-time data TeleTrader Professional now also supports the RTD (real-time data) functionality of Microsoft Excel. RTD allows Excel to display live, updating quote data or historical quotes, similar to the DDE protocol that is already supported for Excel and Open Office. You can choose which format TeleTrader Professional uses for copying data to your spreadsheet software with the Copy command under Tools > Options > General. The general RTD syntax for live data is: =RTD("ProfRTD";;"Live";"<Symbol>,<Field>") The general RTD syntax for historical data is: =RTD("ProfRTD";;"History";"<Symbol>,<Period>,<Field>,<TimeRegion>";<Index>) The syntax for data fields, periods and other functionalities is usually the same as the syntax for DDE links. For more detailed information, consult the TeleTrader Professional User Guide. Note QuickBar At the moment, forwards and continuous contracts are not yet available via RTD. They will be included with the next RTD update. Choose document types when opening symbols from the QuickBar When opening symbols from the QuickBar, you can now easily choose a document type by moving the mouse pointer to the symbol and waiting for a moment an additional menu will appear to the right, showing a list of all available document types. You can also choose a specific template for the document in a similar fashion. Chart Save default settings for Renko, Kagi and Point and Figure charts The brick / box size and reversal settings of Renko, Kagi and Point and Figure charts can now be saved for each symbol and data compression. Use the button Set as Default in the Chart Properties dialog. Use TeleTrader Language functions in chartable expressions You can now use mathematical functions and expressions of the TeleTrader Language inside chartable expressions. For example: =MIN([DJI_0AWSPC].OPEN,[DJI_0AWSPC].CLOSE) =3 Set zero point for charts with a percentage scale at a specific price level You can now set the starting point for charts with a percentage scale at any price level. While using the tool Set Vertical Scale Zero Point, press the O, H, L or C key to set the zero point at the Open, High, Low or Close price of a bar. To use any price level, hold the Ctrl key while setting the zero point. New Studies The following study has been added in TeleTrader Professional Version 8.1: VWAP, for displaying the Volume Weighted Average Price and its standard deviation For detailed information about the new study refer to the Analysis Tools manual, which is accessible from the Help menu. 3/5 May 2010
4 Bug Fixes / Resolved Issues The following bugs have been fixed in TeleTrader Professional Version 8.1: Adding and removing columns in time and sales and market depth documents is now also possible by right-clicking the column header and choosing Insert or Remove For rollover settings of continuous contracts, the option Timing is now only available when the Trigger is set to Open Interest, Volume or a combination of both When copying content as text from a tabular Professional document (price page, market depth), the column headers are not copied for single cells 4/5 May 2010

Personal firewalls have to be set up to allow traffic for TeleTrader Professional.
