Real-time Quote Screen The trading hall displays the real-time movement of stock level and price of the stocks in the stock market. It consists of the following fields: Stk (Stock) Code Prev (Previous) High Low B/C (stock quantity at buy counter) Buy Sell S/C (stock quantity at sell counter) Last Lot Change Chg % Volume All fields may be sorted in ascending or descending order. To sort, simply click the left mouse button.

10 Quote & News With TraderConnect PRO TM Customizing Your Toolbar 1. The toolbars may be set according to user preference at the Customize Toolbar window. To launch the Customize Toolbar window (Figure 1.4), access the Tool menu and select Customize Toolbar. Figure 1.4 Customize Toolbar Window 2. To set the alignment or hide a toolbar, select the position of the toolbar involved or choose hide at the customize Toolbar window. 3. To add an icon to a toolbar (e.g. Chart Toolbar), follow the steps below : Click the Customize button at the respective toolbar section to launch the Customize Toolbar Chart section Window (Figure 1.5)

Drag the required icon from this window and drop it at the respective toolbar at the TraderConnect window. Repeat this step to add more icons if necessary. Once done, click the OK button to save the settings and exit from the edit mode. 4. To remove an icon from a toolbar, follow the steps below : Click the Customize button at the respective toolbar section or right-click on the empty space of the respective toolbar in order to launch the respective Customize Toolbar window as shown in Figure 1.5 At the launch of the above window, the respective toolbar enters into edit mode (the icons turn to button form). Drag the icon involved from the toolbar. Repeat this step to remove more icons if necessary. Once done, click the OK button to save the toolbar settings and exit from the edit mode.

12 Quote & News With TraderConnect PRO TM The Index toolbar comprises of 2 index displays (Figure 1.6) which display the latest value of favourite KLSE indices. You can assign your 2 favourite indices to the display bars or set it to scroll through the indices automatically. To assign an index to the display bar, right-click on the display bar and select an index or AutoScroll from the short-cut menu. Figure 1.6 Index Toolbar 6. The Scoreboard display bar consists of five elements (Up, Dn, Un, Ntd and Vol) that provide real-time information. Simply right-click in any of the display bars (Up, Dn, Un or Ntd) to switch between the number view and the percentage view. The Vol display item exhibits the cumulative volume of the period or the estimated volume for the day. Right-click in the display bar to switch between the actual volume view and the estimated volume view.

Multi Quote Window This feature enables the user to open multiple Quote Screens at one time. Without this function, user can only open 1 Quote Screen at one time. 2. Multi Time Sale Window This feature enables the user to open multiple Time-Sales window. Without this function, user can only open 1 Time- Sales window at one time. 3. Multi Layout Define This feature enables the user to design a personalized layout or open an existing layout template. Without this feature, user can save layout if one is created during the login session.

14 Quote & News With TraderConnect PRO TM Market Depth by Order This feature refers to the markets that support display of Order Break Down by each submission and may contain Broker ID if available. 5. Market Depth by Price This feature refers to the usual depth which show the bid/ask price and quantity queue in market. It applies only to real-time feed and for the markets, that user has subscribed for Level 2 Data Feed. 6. Option Setting This feature refers to the Option Window by which user can invoke to set the control over Maximum Quantity Alert, Price Alert, Duplicate Check Alert, Frequently Traded Account List, Default Trading Quantity etc. 7. Technical Charting This feature refers to the Historical and Intra Day Charting. 8. Stock Tracker This feature refers to the Intraday Stock Tracker which shows the individual or compressed tick for bid/ask match, business done by price, order size, intraday line, candle stick, bar chart. 9. Strategy Trigger Order This is auto mechanism whereby Order predefined for each counter based on a selected programmed strategy can trigger the order directly to the Exchange if the conditions set are fulfilled. User has to be connected to a broking house trading account in order to allow order to be triggered. 10. Technical Indicator This feature which is used for charting such as Bollinger, RSI, MACD, etc assists in analyzing the Chart Pattern.

15 Quote & News With TraderConnect PRO TM Strategy Indicator This feature allows the user to create or modify a trading strategy and use that strategy to scan for the historical price/volume movement for the selected counters so as to generate a trigger point where Trading Buy or Trading Sell should take place. 12. Order Injector This feature also known as Ladder Trading, facilitates the trading for each stock counter or instrument directly at the Market Depth window. It is an ultrafast execution with 1 click to insert order or 1 click to withdraw order or withdraw all Orders in the market. 13. Basket Order This feature allows user to create or maintain 1 or more basket of stocks or derivatives or commodity or combination of them and execute the order directly in a single send command. Order can be sent with a prefix price or using the market bid/offer price. 14. Algorithmic Trading This feature which is linked to MS Excel Spreadsheet, is used to build his/her own strategy base on Real Time Price Stream from TCPRO to Excel Spreadsheet and triggered order base on the Spreadsheet macro is sent to Exchange via TCPRO connection. User can create the spreadsheet in free form and mapped back to TCPRO for execution. 15. Keyboard Mapping This function reprograms the entire hotkey in TCPRO to any combination of Function, Ctrl, and Alt together with 0-9 and A-Z for quick key action. This is especially useful for those who prefer to use keyboard to trade as opposed to the mouse and those who may have better experience in previous system using function key execution so that the familiar key can be re-used when trading via TCPRO. 16. Portfolio This feature enables the management of user on-hand holding position with unrealized gain/loss computation marked to market price.

Report & Print This feature refers to online reporting where user can generate PDF, Excel Export or Print to Printer the Order Book Entry, Historical Trades as well as Portfolio Statement.

17 Quote & News With TraderConnect PRO TM 17 C H A P T E R 2 Utilizing The Basic Features This chapter introduces the concept of Price Quotes, Indices, Scoreboard and News, which report price data information of symbols, indices, and scores in a table instead of a chart, as well as the news announcements from respective companies. 18 Quote & News With TraderConnect PRO TM Real-Time Quote 1. The real-time price quote appears in the form of a table known as a Quote screen. This screen displays all the listed stocks as shown in Figure 2.1. Figure 2.1 Price Quote Screen 2. The StkCode (Stock Code) column in the Quote screen displays the symbol list. The other columns display information such as close of the previous day, open, high, low, for the day. It also tracks market transactions such as B/C, Buy, Sell, and S/C. 3. The TraderConnect system has the capacity to create up to 9 different groups or sets of symbols that is being tracked. Use any of the following methods to create a Quote screen : Icon Use the Open Quote icon to open the first Quote screen directly. The Quote screen will appear in default setting when opened for the 1 st time otherwise it will emulate the previous Quote screen setting (before it was closed). Main Menu Go to File menu, click Open and select Quote to open the first screen. To create another Quote screen, go to the File menu again, click New and choose Quote to create another screen.

19 Quote & News With TraderConnect PRO TM To save a Quote screen, follow the step described below : Go to File menu, click Save As and choose Quote. This will launch the Save As Quote window (Figure 2.2). Figure 2.2 Save As Quote Window Key in the Filename and click the Save button or press the Enter key at the keyboard. 5. To apply an existing Quote screen, follow the steps below : Right-click on the quote screen to produce the short-cut menu as shown in Figure 2.3. Figure 2.3 Short-cut Menu for Quote Screen

20 Quote & News With TraderConnect PRO TM 20 Select Apply Quote from the short-cut menu to launch the Apply Quote window as shown in Figure 2.4. Figure 2.4 Apply Quote Window Select the required quote filename from the Apply Quote window and then click the Open button or press the Enter key at the keyboard. 6. To open multiple Quote screens, go to File menu, click New and choose Quote. Once the Quote screen appears, use the procedure described at step 5 to apply previously saved Quote screen format onto it. 7. To setup and maintain the fields (columns) of a Quote screen, first, right-click on the quote screen and select Column Setup from the short-cut menu to launch the Column Setup window (Figure 2.5), and then follow the steps below : Figure 2.5 Column Setup Window

21 Quote & News With TraderConnect PRO TM 21 To add a field, click the Add button to obtain the menu list (Figure 2.6) and then select the required field. This new field will be added to the bottom of the Column list at the Column Setup window. Figure 2.6 Menu List To remove a field from the Column list, select the field and click the Delete button. Repeat this to remove more fields. Once the necessary changes have been made, click the OK button to apply the changes. To abort the changes, click the Cancel button. 8. In order not to squeeze all the fields onto the Quote screen, the TCPRO has integrated some compatible fields to share columns. The compatible fields are StkNo/StkCode, Prev/Ref, Volume/Value, Last/Lot, Change/Chg%, Last/Lot/Change/Chg%, AveCost/BalQty, CostBasis/MktValue and PL/Share/PL$/PL%. If any of the compatible field is added to the Quote screen, the system recognizes it as compatible fields. Right-click on the column header to do the switching. The compatible fields can also be added as individual fields by adding each field to the Quote screen.

22 Quote & News With TraderConnect PRO TM To rearrange the order of fields, follow the steps below : Right-click on the Quote screen and select Column Setup to launch the Column Setup window (Figure 2.5). At the column list, click and hold down the mouse button at the field you wish to shift, then drag it to the new position and release the mouse button. Repeat this step if necessary to reorganize other fields. Click the OK button to apply the changes. 10. To sort the rows by a particular field, simply click on the related column header. In general, the related data field will be sorted from high to low or from A to Z. To arrange the symbols in your own order, first arrange the symbols in the QuickList as desired, save the QuickList and apply it to the Quote screen. Then go to View menu, click Sort By and choose No Sort to have the symbols displayed in your own order. 11. To change the symbol group (sectors, indices, QuickList and portfolio) in the Quote screen, follow the steps below : Right-click on the Quote screen to produce the shortcut menu as shown in Figure 2.3. Select a symbol group from All Stocks, Sector, Indices, Index Futures, CPO Futures, Sector, QuickList or Portfolio. (All Stocks, Indices, Index Futures and CPO Futures symbol groups will be launched directly on the Quote screen whereas the rest of the groups will be launched using user interaction with the system.)

23 Quote & News With TraderConnect PRO TM To open a chart instantly using the Quote screen, use any of the following methods : Method 1 Right-click on a symbol and select QuickCharts from the short-cut menu (Figure 2.7) to load the corresponding chart. Figure 2.7 Short-cut menu Symbol Method 2 Select a symbol at the Quote screen and press the F5 or Enter key to load the corresponding chart. Method 3 Select a symbol on the Quote screen, then click the View menu and choose QuickCharts. 13. Another method to open a chart quickly is Auto QuickCharts. To activate the Auto QuickCharts feature, access the View menu at the active Quote screen and select Auto QuickCharts to turn this feature on. The tick that appears beside the Auto QuickCharts option indicates that the feature is active. To turn it off, simply click on it again. The following describes the different usages of the Auto QuickCharts feature : Open a Single Symbol Chart Window To open only one chart window as your symbol charting reference, follow the steps below: Deselect QuickSearch on new window at the Option window. Activate the Auto QuickCharts feature and simply click on a symbol at the Quote screen to load the chart to the chart window.

24 Quote & News With TraderConnect PRO TM 24 Click another symbol to load the chart at the same chart window. The newly loaded chart will replace the previous chart. Open Multi Symbol Chart Windows To open several symbol chart windows, follow the steps below: Select QuickSearch on new window from the Option window (covered in Chapter 16, Configuring Your Environment). Activate the Auto QuickCharts feature. Simply click on a symbol from the Quote screen to load the chart on a new chart window. Then, click on another symbol to plot the chart on another chart window. (You may open as many chart windows as you wish.) 15. To view the share capital of a symbol, just click on symbol at the Quote screen and the corresponding share capital will be displayed at the display bar, at the bottom of the Quote screen (Figure 2.8). For those symbols with 'C' or 'X' besides the symbol name, you may need to click on the display bar to view the next part of information. Figure 2.8 Display bar showing company share capital and other related information 16. The display properties of the Quote screen are customizable at the Display Properties window. To open the window, right-click on the Quote screen and select Display Properties from the short-cut menu. Alternatively, click the Format menu and select Display Properties to launch the Display Properties window (Figure 2.9).

25 Quote & News With TraderConnect PRO TM 25 Figure 2.9 Display Properties Window To change the color of the Quote screen display elements, follow these steps: Select the required element. Double-click or click the Color button to produce the color palette. Choose the color of your choice and then click the OK button to set the color and return to the Display Properties dialog. To change the font of the Quote screen, follow these steps: Click the Font button to produce the Font window. Select the combination of font setting. Click the OK button on the Font window to save the changes and return to the Display Properties window.

26 Quote & News With TraderConnect PRO TM 26 To define a different color for each sector, select the Use Sector Color check box to apply the sector color onto the Quote screen. Before that, use the following steps to define the sector color first: Click the >>Set button to produce the Sector Color window as shown in Figure To define the color by sector, click the Mainboard, 2nd board, or Mesdaq button to produce the color palette. To define color for individual sector, first select a sector, and then click the Color button to access the color palette. Choose the color of your choice for the selected sector and click the OK button. Figure 2.10 Sector Color Window

27 Quote & News With TraderConnect PRO TM Indices 1. The Indices screen (Figure 2.11) is a combination of an index quote, a time-value table, and a time-value plot graph. Figure 2.11 Indices Screen 2. To Open the Indices screen, use any of the methods described below : Icon Use the Open Indices icon to launch the Indices screen. Key Strokes Use the F3 key to launch the Indices screen.

28 Quote & News With TraderConnect PRO TM 28 Short-cut Menu Left-click the mouse button at the Indices display bar (Figure 2.12), and select Snap Shot to launch the Indices screen. To view the Time-Value plot and Time-Value data of an index, simply click the required index on the index table. 4. To load an index chart using the Indices screen, use any of the following methods : Method 1 Select the required index from the indices quote screen, then right-click the mouse button and select QuickCharts from the short-cut menu (Figure 2.13). 29 Quote & News With TraderConnect PRO TM 29 Method 3 An index time-value plot is restricted to a day's records. To study the index behavior over a longer period, rightclick at the time-value plot area and select QuickCharts from the short-cut menu. 5. To change the order of indices in the quote screen, follow the steps below : Right-click on the index quote screen and select Indices Sequence to launch the Indices Sequence window (Figure 2.14). Figure 2.14 Indices Sequences Window Click the index, hold the mouse button whilst dragging it to the new position, and then release the mouse button. Repeat this step if necessary to move other indices. Once the changes are done, click the Close button to save the changes. 6. To change the Indices screen color and font, right-click on the Indices quote screen and select Display Properties from the short-cut menu to launch the Display Properties window.

30 Quote & News With TraderConnect PRO TM To change the data compression of the real-time index plot, right-click on the time-value plot area and select the preferred compression from the short-cut menu (Figure 2.15). 31 Quote & News With TraderConnect PRO TM Scoreboard 1. The scoreboard is a table that collects and compiles the statistical data of all the symbols by sector on a real-time basis. The statistical data includes number of counters which are up, down, unchanged and not traded, the total counters in the sector, the total volume and value traded and also the summary by Mainboard, 2 nd -board and etc. By default, the scoreboard has a pie chart attached to it which represents the market activity of the selected board in %. Figure Scoreboard 2. To open the scoreboard (Figure 2.16), use any of these methods: Main Menu Access the File menu, click Open and choose Scoreboard. Icon Click on the scoreboard icon. Key Stroke Press the F4 key on the keyboard.

To make changes to the color and font of the scoreboard, right-click on the scoreboard and select Display Properties from the short-cut menu to launch the Display Properties window.

33 Quote & News With TraderConnect PRO TM Announcement 1. The Announcement browser (Figure 2.17) provides up-todate financial and economic news broadcast on a selected symbol. The top half of the screen displays the announcement headings while the bottom half of the screen displays the details of the selected announcement. Figure 2.17 Announcement 2. To launch the Announcement browser, use any of these methods : Main Menu Select a symbol first, then access the View menu and choose Announcement. Icon Select a symbol first, and then click on the Announcement icon. Short-cut Menu Double-click on the required symbol and select View followed by Announcement from the short-cut menu. 3. To view the details of an announcement headline displayed, just click on preferred headline.

34 Quote & News With TraderConnect PRO TM News 1. The News browser (Figure 2.18) provides up-to-date financial and economic news broadcast from the exchange. The top half of the screen displays the search criteria for news and the bottom half of the screen displays the headlines collected in association to the search criteria imposed. Figure 2.18 News Browser 2. To launch the News browser, use any of these methods : Main Menu Click the File menu and select Open followed by News. Icon Click on the Open News icon. 3. To view the details of the news headline displayed, just click on preferred headline. 4. The news archive is also available to facilitate news search.

Key in the necessary information and click the Send Now button to send the , as shown in Figure The message highlighted in the figure above indicates that the has reached the recipient.

36 Quote & News With TraderConnect PRO TM Market Streamer 1. This feature streams the last traded counters on a first-in first-out basis, as shown in Figure Figure 2.20 Market Streamer 2. To launch the Market Streamer, simply click the File menu and choose Market Streamer from the New submenu.

38 Quote & News With TraderConnect PRO TM Multi Quote Window 1. TraderConnect PRO also offers the multi quote window. This enables a user to view quote screens or charts from multiple exchange at any one time. 2. To create a multi quote screen layout (Figure 3.1), do the following: Open the required number of new quote windows or symbols using File/New/Quote or File/New/Chart respectively. A combination of both is also applicable. Then select the quote window one at a time and click the Exchange icon at the toolbar to select the required exchange. Once done, click the Window menu and arrange the windows by selecting Tile Horizontally or Tile Vertically. Figure 3.1 Multi Exchange Quote Layout

39 Quote & News With TraderConnect PRO TM Key Mapping 1. Key Mapping is used to create short-cut keys for functions available in TraderConnect PRO. 2. To create a short-cut key, activate the Key Map tab (Figure 3.2) and do the following: First, select an action from the right-hand panel and click the required key combination from the left-hand panel. Then click the Save button to save the short-cut key. To undo a combination, click the Remove button. Similarly, to undo all combination (prior to saving), click the Abort button. Figure 3.2 Key Mapping 3. The maintenance of key mapping may be carried out at the Maintenance section (Figure 3.3). The following options are available:

40 Quote & News With TraderConnect PRO TM 40 Figure Maintenance Reset To reset to default setting, choose All Action, then click the Apply checkbox and choose Default. Backup To save the settings made at the Key Map tab, to the hard disk, click Export and save the file. Restore To restore the settings from a backup file, select the Previous checkbox and choose the required file. Once done, click the Import button.

41 Quote & News With TraderConnect PRO TM Stock Tracker 1. The Track feature acts as a stock tracker that provides transaction details of a symbol. The Track window (Figure 3.4) consists of 5 items, i.e. price quote of the symbol at the top, the time-sales section at the right, the price-time plot in the center, and at the bottom, the statistical cumulative volume-price data and the plot. To launch the Track window, use any of the methods described below : Figure 3.4 Track Window Method 1 Double-click the required symbol from the Quote screen and select Track from the short-cut menu. Method 2 Select the required symbol from the Quote screen and then press the F1 key. Method 3 Select the required symbol from the Quote screen, then click the View menu and select Track.

42 Quote & News With TraderConnect PRO TM The Depth window offers a quick view of the order queue compared to the Track window. The Depth window comprises of 4 items i.e. buy, sell, cumulative buy and cumulative sell. To access the Depth window, use any of the methods below : Method 1 Double-click on the required symbol, select Depth from the short-cut menu and then choose Popup (Depth window remains stagnant when TraderConnect window is moved about) or Window (Depth window moves along with the TraderConnect window when the latter is moved about) from the sub-menu. Method 2 Select the required symbol from the Quote screen, and press the F12 (Popup option) or Ctrl F12 (Window option) key. Method 3 Select the required symbol from the Quote screen, then click the View menu, select Depth and choose Popup or Window from the sub-menu. 3. The order queue for each symbol is displayed on a new Depth window. To instantly access the order queue in a single window by a single-mouse click or by scrolling through the symbols, use the Auto Depth feature. To activate the Auto Depth feature, access the View menu, choose Single Click To followed by Depth. The tick that appears beside this feature indicates that the Auto Depth feature is active. To turn it off, simply click on it again. 4. To view only the TimeSales data (as shown in Figure 3.5) instead of launching the Track window, use any of the following methods:
