1 1 THINK Successfully! Technology Helping Individuals Navigate Knowledge Successfully! The following pages contain categories of applications. There are literally thousands of applications with new ones appearing every day. For the purposes of this presentation, the applications sited were identified as useful tools for individuals to use in enhancing skills in communication, math, productivity, reading, teacher resources, and writing. There are a plethora of educational applications for all curriculum categories and I encourage you to browse itunes application site to learn more about them. In addition, there are many more categories of applications available such as, entertainment, health, finances, and productivity etc.. The applications presented are only a brief sample of what can be found within the category on itunes. Applications chosen for this presentation are not endorsed but were chosen as a useful tool for the identified category, had positive reviews, and were downloaded and critiqued for ease of use and having a good visual layout. That being said, it is recommended that each application be demonstrated to the intended student and have them critique their desire and ability to use it. Every individual has unique visual and audio preferences and if a student is matched to an application they do not desire, they will not use it. Indication was made if Apple s will utilize the identified applications; however, prices were not indicated in this handout. Also note if free or lite versions are available in addition to paid versions, some identified functions may not apply. Furthermore, some applications may not function out of WiFi range on itouch or or non activated iphone. Please note that these application reviews are current as of March 2010.
