5 You can type the address in the field on top of the map or use the map to find the location Residential draft Page 5 of 23

6 Click on the blue flag and drag the exact location where you want to design the system; The orange square represents the image that will be uploaded as a base for your project. You may also allow to check the wind zones by clicking WIND ZONES; Click on SELECT AND CLOSE after confirming the location of the project. Residential draft Page 6 of 23

7 Define the Location To define the location you can sketch the perimeter of your building by clicking on Polygon icon in the tools bar Residential draft Page 7 of 23

8 By clicking the number shown at the edge of building, you are allow to adjust the dimensions of the selected area; The area and perimeter of the selected area will be also provided. Residential draft Page 8 of 23

9 Click on Residential to create the building The dimensions of building can be adjusted and you can also select the different roof typology. In Australia, the first type of building is commonly used rather than the second one which is widely used in Europe. Residential draft Page 9 of 23

10 Once created the building, the view will be automatically change to 3D view. Then, click on Transparency to confirm the location of objects on the roof. Residential draft Page 10 of 23

11 Dedicated Building Tools Back to 2D view Click on OBJECTS Drag objects from the roof object list and drop them on the roof By click on the items that you want to edit, then the edition tool will be shown as following: Afterwards, click on Scale to adjust the dimensions of the objects Residential draft Page 11 of 23

12 Go back to 3D view Select the roof of building and click on Transparency Evaluate the impact of various obstacles on your installation by changing the HOURS and DAYS. Residential draft Page 12 of 23

13 Panel Selection PV-ezDesign has got a full list of panels. Choose your panel by clicking PANELS in tools column and choose from FACTORY LIST. If manufacturer is not in the list you can add manufacturer in to the list by clicking ADD TO LIBRARY ; Once selected the type of panel, click on ACCEPT to finish your selection Residential draft Page 13 of 23

14 Click on structure types and select the type of racking you want to use. Click on CREATE PROTOTYPE to confirm your selection Then the prototype will be added to your catalogue Residential draft Page 14 of 23

15 Click on the roof first, then select JOIST on the right top corner The parameters are allow to be changed based on the different cases In Australia, offset and length would be consider as 0.8m as a standard Click on EDIT JOIST and then select the surface that you want to install the system Residential draft Page 15 of 23

16 Configure your array You can access more data about the panel you selected by clicking on INFO Click on the selected panel in the red box first, drag and drop it on the roof Residential draft Page 16 of 23

18 Click on EDIT Press the red icon and drag the panel horizontally to edit its number or just fill the exactly number of panels in the field on the right Residential draft Page 18 of 23

19 Click on DUPLICATE and drag the centre of coordinate at the corner of the original panel row to the want position that you Then select EDIT to adjust the number of panels in the new row By clicking Translate to move the panels. 20 after configuring the panels, click on the roof first and select JOIST you can delete joist by click on before selecting the surface Residential draft Page 20 of 23

21 Conduct real time shadow cone analysis In 2D view, the top direction always stands for true north. However, in this case, there is an object located on the roof of that direction. Therefore, you may select other side of roof to install your system based on annual daily irradiation for different cities. Residential draft Page 21 of 23

22 Produce BOM click on PROJECT after saving the file, then choose BOM Residential draft Page 22 of 23
