1 Using Google Sites: Adding videos Page 1 Using Google Sites: Uploading Videos to your Website This guide explains how to: 1. Upload YouTube videos 2. Upload other types of video 1. Uploading YouTube videos Step 1: Copy the URL (internet address) of the YouTube video you want to upload. Step 2: Go to the page in your website you want to upload the video to. Click on the pencil icon at the top right of the page so that you can edit the page. Step 3: Put the cursor in the place where you want the image to go.

2 Using Google Sites: Adding videos Page 2 Step 4: Click on the Insert button at the top left of the page. Step 5: A window will open showing different things you can add to your page. Click on the YouTube icon at the top left. The Insert YouTube Video window will open

3 Using Google Sites: Adding videos Page 3 Step 6: Paste in the URL (Internet address) of the YouTube video. Step 7: Choose the size you want the video to be on your webpage, decide if it will have a border or not, and put a title above the video if you want. Then click the red Save button. The video will be uploadxed to your weboage and appear as a grey box like this:

4 Using Google Sites: Adding videos Page 4 Step 8: Click on the grey box to get the formatting tool. Use the formatting tool to: 8A Change the position of the video on your page: left, centred or right. 8B. Wrap and unwrap the text around the video

5 Using Google Sites: Adding videos Page 5 8C. Go back and change the properties of the video such as the size, bordert and title left. 8D. Delete the video. Step 9: When you have uploaded and formatted your vidseo, or to see how it looks on your webpage, click on the blue Save button at the top of the page. You will see the video on your webpage: Step 10: If you want to make more changes to the format of your video, click on the pencil icon again at the top of your page, and then on the grey YouTube video box to get the formatting tool again. Remember to save your work by clicking on the blue Save buton at the top of the page when you finish.

6 Using Google Sites: Adding videos Page 6 2. How to upload other types of videos In this example we show how to upload a video from Vimeo. You can upload videos from other sites in a similar way. Step 1: Click on the pencil icon at the top right of the page you want to add the video to so that you can edit the page. Step 2: Go to the video you want to upload. Step 3: Find the code to embed the video. You can usually do this by clicking on the Share button.

7 Using Google Sites: Adding videos Page 7 Step 4: Copy the code to embed the video from the box that opens. Step 5: Click on the html button at the right of the editing tool at the top of the page You will see a box showing the html code for your page that looks like this :

8 Using Google Sites: Adding videos Page 8 Step 6: Paste in the code to embed the video in the place on the page where you want tot add the video. Don t worry if you can t find the exact place you can move the video later. Then click the Update button. The video will be uploaded as a grey Google Gadget grey that looks like this: Step 7: Click on the Google Gadget box to get the formatting tool and use this to position your video, wrap or unwrap the text around it, and change the size of the box. (See Step 7 in section 1. Uploading YouTube Videos above for instructions on how to use the formatting tool.

9 Using Google Sites: Adding videos Page 9 Step 8: If you want to move the video, click on the Google Gadget box and drag it to another place on the page. Step 9: When you have embedded and formatted your video, or to see how it looks on your webpage, click on the blue Save button at the top of the page. You will see the video on your webpage: Step 10: If you want to make more changes to the format of your video, click on the pencil icon again at the top of your page, and then on the grey Googler Gadget box for your video to get the formatting tool again. Remember to save your work by clicking on the blue Save buton at the top of the page when you finish.
