1 RELEASE NOTES These release notes highlight some general information about SMP for ArcGIS Middle East and Africa HERE (formerly NAVTEQ) 2015 Release 1 as well as the changes between 2015 Release 1 and 2014 Release 1. 1) System Requirements: - ArcGIS for Desktop or ArcGIS for Server or later (FGDB mapping and routing functionality); or (Locators/Geocoding functionality) - See: 2) Patches and Service Packs: Loading Locators with Suggestions Patch for addressing performance issues and potential crashes when opening locators that support suggestions with ArcGIS for Desktop, Engine, and Server - See: Geocoding General Maintenance Patch for addressing performance and stability issues when geocoding with ArcGIS for Desktop, Engine, and Server - See: 3) DVD Contents: a. DVD1 Documentation folder, StreetMap_Data folder - FGDB dataset, QuickStartGuide.htm, and Release Notes b. DVD2 - Locators folder; does not contain *.loc files which are sent by Esri Customer Service along with the product license file Refer to the QuickStartGuide.htm on DVD1 for more information. 4) Data Size: 2015R1: 8.99GB; 2014R1: 5.21GB a. 2 5) Dataset Changes: FGDB i. Dataset based on HERE 2015 Q2 vintage ii. Map Document (MXD) is provided in ArcGIS version only for use with or later versions. The.mxd was renamed from Navteq_MEA.mxd to HERE_MA.mxd. iii. Country name attribute changes: St Helena, Ascension and T. Cunha to St Helena, Ascension & T. da Cunha ; Cameroon to Republic of Cameroon ; Congo, Republic of the to Republic of the Congo ; Congo, Democratic Republic to Congo, Democratic Republic of the Cape Verde to Cabo Verde Point Feature Classes iv. No changes Line Feature Classes v. MapAdminLine attributes Renamed: *_LOCAL and *_LOCAL_LC to *_LATIN and *_LATIN_LC to reflect that the attribute contents are Latin and not local language vi. MapHighways attributes vii. MapMajorRoads attributes viii. MapMotorways attributes ix. Routing_Streets attributes Added: F_ZLEV, T_ZLEV, StreetNameLat, StreetNameLatLng, ManeuverClass, RCAT12_AUTOMOBILES, RCAT12_TRUCKS Removed: FromNodeID, ToNodeID METERS - Long(4) to Double(8) x. Streets attributes Added: StreetNameLat, StreetNameLatLng, ManeuverClass, RCAT12_AUTOMOBILES, RCAT12_TRUCKS METERS - Long(4) to Double(8) xi. Streetscarto attributes Added: ORDER1_NAME 2

3 Polygon Feature Classes xii. MapCountryArea_5 added to the Background feature dataset. MapCountryArea_5 is a combination of the MapCountryArea feature class and a 5-degree grid. MapCountryArea_5 feature class replaces MapCountryArea[none, 1-3] feature classes in the map document (.mxd) to increase drawing speeds. MapCountryArea[none, 1-3] feature classes are unchanged. Tables xiii. Patterns attributes Added: AverageSpeed xiv. Streets_Patterns attributes Added: AverageSpeed_U AverageSpeed_S xv. Streets_RoadSplits table added to define where roads split off/fork into multiple streets and to enhance directions while routing. This table will only be used in ArcGIS for Desktop or ArcGIS for Server or later, it will be ignored in earlier versions of the software. Refer to the Data Dictionary section in the Help.htm on DVD1 for more information. 6) Locator Changes: a. ARE addition of zone aliases; support for English records added b. BHR improvements to transliterated address matching/formats c. EGY addition of zone aliases d. ISR addition of zone aliases; additional support for recognition of Hebrew characters (specifically vowel points) in addresses; updates to intersection connectors e. JOR support for English records added f. KWT addition of zone aliases g. MAR addition of zone aliases h. QAT update to Match_addr output field format i. Reverse geocoding output standardized for all countries j. AddNum and StAddr output fields added for all countries where applicable. k. Proximity search function for PointAddress, StreetAddress, and StreetName locators added. Proximity search is only available when the locator is published as a geocoding service. 3

PointAddress locators (available in EGY, ISR, SAU, and ZAF) now provide the ability to change the default location of a matched address from the entry point on the street to the parcel or building centroid. See the Help.htm on how to edit the XXX_PointAddress.loc file to change the default location. Users must have ArcGIS for Desktop or ArcGIS for Server as well as the Geocoding General Maintenance Patch installed for Desktop and Server. See link in Section 2) Patches and Service Packs above. m. Suggestions functionality is now available (except in ARE) when using ArcGIS for Server. After publishing a country composite locator to ArcGIS for Server, you can consume the suggestions REST API in your own applications. If you are using individual locators, suggestions are enabled only in the StreetAddress, Postal, and AdminPlaces locators. Refer to the Geocoding addresses section About the address locators for geocoding in the Help.htm on DVD1 for more information. 7) Routing/Network Dataset Changes: a. The calculation of average speeds from historical traffic corrected to account for both ensuring that the average speed computed is the speed resulting from the actual average travel time, as well as greater weighting of time slices with slower travel than time slices with faster travel. b. Definition of elevation model changed to use values in F_ZLEV and T_ZLEV attributes; attributes FromNodeID and ToNodeID were removed. c. Avoid Toll Roads for Trucks restriction added (attribute RCAT12_TRUCKS). The existing Avoid Toll Roads restriction now applies to automobiles only (attribute RCAT12_AUTOMOBILES). d. Avoid Truck Restricted Roads restriction added. Using this restriction will avoid all roads where trucks are prohibited unless making a local delivery. 4

5 e. Use the existing restriction Driving a Truck in place of the existing restriction Driving a Delivery Vehicle as the Driving a Delivery Vehicle restriction will be deprecated in a future release. Using this restriction will avoid all roads where trucks are prohibited. f. Added impedances TimeAt1KPH and WalkTime. g. Travel modes added, which can be accessed only through ArcGIS 10.3 for Server, GeoProcessing Tools, and Python. Travel modes include: Driving Time, Driving Distance, Rural Driving Time, Rural Driving Distance, Trucking Time, Trucking Distance, Walking Time and Walking Distance.
