ModCap ModCap is a utility used on non-dicom compliant modalities to ensure the exported images are wrapped in DICOM with patient information supplied by the VersaSuite Modality Worklist Server. Every client or workstation that will be using the ModCap system will need to perform the following setup. If ModCap is set up on a Terminal Server, then ModCap only needs to be set up on that server. 1. Setup a shared drive on the network called ModCap. This network share will need to be mapped on the network and can be set as the M: drive. 2. Create two folders within the ModCap share and call them ModCap_Config and ModCap_Data. Figure 97 - Procedure PACS - Setup 66 of 74

67 2. It is recommended that the naming conventions used specify the procedure, and the procedure location. An example of this would be an A Scan Ultrasound of the left eye. The procedure would then be named A Scan Left. Figure 98 - Procedure Name 3. Right-click on the new procedure and select New. This file will be a DICOM tag and have a value associated with it. Based on the entered value, ModCap will populate a DICOM tab with the correct value when wrapping the image. Figure 99 - DICOM tag 4. The Tag/Value combinations must be identical to those within the image categories that the images are going to be stored, or they will not sort properly. PACS - Setup 67 of 74

Select Secondary Capture for the Format. Figure DICOM PACS - Setup 68 of 74

69 9. If the Modality field is left blank in the Worklist section then any Worklist can be queried. If the type of Modality is entered into the field then only those Worklists can be queried. An example of this would be the abbreviation OP, which represents Ophthalmic Photography. The modality vendor can be consulted for this specification. Figure Worklist 10.
