The Rock-Pond Information Center has a built in Customer Resource Center that will keep you up to date on what is happening at Rock-Pond and allow you to communicate to us. Rock-Pond Solutions wants to hear from you and work with you whenever possible. Although we d like to take the credit for the report designs, most of our expertise is a result of the time we spend working with our Rock- Pond Reports and consulting customers. Please us at support@rock-pond.com or work with your implementation specialist if you need help finding a report to meet your need. We will help you find what you need and if necessary, provide you a quote to do a custom report for you. ROCK-POND REPORTING OVERVIEW The Rock-Pond Information Center is the main client application that is used to find, organize, view, and export Rock-Pond Reports. Rock-Pond Connect is an application that installs on a centralized server and includes a Windows Service to keep the report templates on your system up-to-date with the master Rock-Pond Reports repository along with the ability to perform manual updates. With the Information Center and Rock-Pond Connect, you are ready to run Rock-Pond Reports to get the information you need out of your pharmacy software. Rock-Pond Reports extends the value of your pharmacy software by allowing you to access information from the data stored in the pharmacy software databases without needing any technical data access skills. Connections to your databases are set up when configuring the Rock-Pond Information Center. All reports are run on your system using the Rock-Pond Reports templates and data is never transferred outside your network for any reason. This guide takes you through the process of installation and setup for Rock-Pond Reports in less than 30 minutes. RPR_2.1_InstallGuide.docx Page 2 of 18

INFRASTRUCTURE LAYOUT The following layout shows a typical Rock-Pond Information Center and Rock-Pond Connect installation. 4 IMPORTANT PLANNING NOTE: If you are installing the Rock-Pond Information Center on machines that do not have.net 4.0 installed, the installation of the.net 4.0 components may require a system reboot. If this is a Citrix or Terminal Server it is advised to be sure to schedule the installation when a reboot is possible or install the.net 4.0 components as a first step, reboot overnight and complete the installation the following day. ROCK-POND CONNECT INSTALLATION CHECKLIST Rock-Pond Connect needs to be installed before Rock-Pond Information Center can be installed, configured and used. 1. Receive your Rock-Pond Connect login and password from Rock-Pond Solutions. 2. Establish a report folder (Rock-Pond Connect Folder) which can be shared over the network to all Rock-Pond Information Center clients. The Rock-Pond Connect Folder is NOT the "Program Files" folder for the application, but a brand new empty folder. 3. Install, configure and activate Rock-Pond Connect on the machine where the Rock-Pond Connect folder is located. Rock-Pond Connect must be installed locally where the Rock-Pond Connect folder identified above resides. 4. Update manually and ensure the directory structure has been created in the Rock-Pond Connect folder that was identified above. 5. Start the Windows Service to enable automatic updates. ROCK-POND INFORMATION CENTER INSTALLATION CHECKLIST Once Rock-Pond Connect is installed and configured, and the Rock-Pond Connect main folder is accessible on the system where Rock-Pond Information Center will be installed, then you may proceed. 1. Install the SAP Crystal Reports runtimes. 2. Install and configure the Rock-Pond Information Center application. 3. Test Rock-Pond Information Center by running a report. DOWNLOAD INSTALLATION FILES There are three installation files you need; one for the Rock-Pond Information Center application, one for the Rock-Pond Connect application and one for the Crystal Reports run time libraries. IMPORTANT PLANNING NOTE: The following links always point to the most recent versions of Rock-Pond Connect and Rock-Pond Information Center. Before installing, ensure you have recent copies of these installation files so you prevent installing legacy versions. RPR_2.1_InstallGuide.docx Page 4 of 18

ROCK-POND CONNECT Requires the Microsoft.NET 4.0 Framework prior to installing. The installation will perform this check and will direct you to a download location on the Microsoft website if it is missing on the target system: CRYSTAL REPORTS RUNTIMES Installing the Crystal Reports runtimes is required for the Rock-Pond Information Center to display its reports: MICROSOFT.NET FRAMEWORK 4.0 FULL VERSION Before install the Rock-Pond Information Center, you must make sure the FULL version of Microsoft s.net 4.0 framework is installed. The full installer can be downloaded at the following link: ROCK-POND INFORMATION CENTER Requires the Microsoft.NET 4.0 Framework (Full Version) prior to installing: #1 ROCK-POND CONNECT INSTALLATION Before you install the Rock-Pond Information Center, you need to define a location where Rock-Pond Connect will create and maintain its directory and file structure. This folder should be available to all Rock-Pond Information Center clients, either locally or via a network share. ESTABLISH "ROCK-POND CONNECT" FOLDER IMPORTANT PLANNING NOTE: The term "Rock-Pond Connect" folder does not refer to the Program Files folder for the Rock-Pond Connect application. The "Rock-Pond Connect" folder is a new folder that Rock-Pond Connect will be configured to point to and maintain a directory and file structure within it. Once established, it should be treated as a system folder and should not be altered by hand. We recommend you create the report folder underneath a commonly accessed shared drive with a name of Rock-Pond Reports. This folder will contain all of the report templates as well as other important configuration information specific to your company. Next create the installation folder in a location that is accessible to anyone who will need to perform Rock-Pond Connect and/or Rock-Pond Information Center installations. It is not necessary to keep the installation files once they are deployed as the current versions are always available at the download locations in this document. RPR_2.1_InstallGuide.docx Page 5 of 18

INSTALL ROCK-POND CONNECT Rock-Pond Connect must be installed on the server where the Rock-Pond Connect folder was set up and can be setup to run as a scheduled Windows Service. Launch the RPC_CURRENT.msi file you downloaded to start the installation and when it loads you will see the following screen: Browse to the Rock-Pond Connect folder you set up and select it to define the Main Folder, which should be an empty folder for new installations. Next, enter the username and password provided by Rock-Pond and set the update interval. Rock-Pond recommends every 15 minutes. The resources required are very small and this allows users to have reports within 15 minutes of being published by Rock-Pond which is very helpful when one of your users requests a report change or wants to have access to a new report as soon as it is available. Once the product is installed, do a manual update to perform and initial load of the Rock-Pond Connect folder and when this is complete, install and start the Windows service. This service will automatically start if the server is ever rebooted unless it is specifically disabled or left uninstalled. CONFIGURING THE AUTO-SCHEDULER If the auto scheduler is to be utilized, then Rock-Pond Connect must be configured with specific settings. There are two areas in Rock-Pond Connect that need to be setup for scheduling. This will be under the File -> Scheduling menu and we will cover the Setup Connections and General Scheduling Settings areas. RPR_2.1_InstallGuide.docx Page 6 of 18

If the Scheduled Engine Enabled menu item is not checked, then this instance of Rock-Pond Connect will not deliver scheduled reports. This should only be checked on one instance of Rock-Pond Connect, which is the centralized instance responsible for executing and delivering scheduled reports. SETUP CONNECTIONS Under this menu of Rock-Pond Connect you will be allowed to setup the ODBC connections needed to run reports from. The connections setup here will be used later in the Rock-Pond Information Center as the selectable data sources to run a scheduled report Here you can add or delete a connection as well as save the credentials for the connection if using SQL Server Authentication. When you choose to Add a connection a pop up will appear. Here you can select an existing ODBC from the System DSN list on the machine or choose to add a new data source. If you choose this option a wizard will walk you through the process. In order to run scheduled reports it is important to save the credentials. When running SQL Server Authentication the credentials are required for the server to process the query and the user when scheduling the report will not be prompted for the credentials. Windows Authentication does not require this setup. However, remember that this is based on the ODBC settings at the SERVER level and not the user who setup the report. RPR_2.1_InstallGuide.docx Page 7 of 18

GENERAL SCHEDULING SETTINGS In this section you will setup the necessary information in order to do ing of notifications of report generation success/failure, ing of generated reports when appropriate and the address and display name for the to come from. The information for SMTP should be readily available from your IT department. #2 ROCK-POND INFORMATION CENTER INSTALLATION Rock-Pond Information Center is set up on each machine where it will be used. Rock-Pond Reports contains reports for almost all pharmacy staff (patient intake, pharmacy, marketing, billing, etc.) and over time you will likely find it useful to provide access to most of the people who need to run reports from data in your pharmacy software. INSTALL ROCK-POND INFORMATION CENTER Before installing the Rock-Pond Information Center, install the SAP Crystal Reports runtimes by launching the CRRuntime13_CURRENT.msi file you downloaded. Once these are installed, install the Rock-Pond Information Center by launching the RPIC_CURRENT.msi file you downloaded. The first time you load the application it will inform you that it has not yet had its Rock- Pond Connect folder defined. Clicking Yes will allow you to define it. You can specify either a local path, mapped network drive path, or a UNC path. Once this is done you can load the application and begin to set up the connections. RPR_2.1_InstallGuide.docx Page 8 of 18

Once the application is installed, you need to configure the settings and connections before it can be used. CONFIGURE ROCK-POND INFORMATION CENTER IMPORTANT NOTE: If the system you are installing Rock-Pond Information Center on has User Account Control enabled, also referred to as UAC, then the configuration of Rock-Pond Information Center must be done in administrative mode by holding shift, right clicking the desktop icon, and choosing "Run As Administrator". Failing to do this will prevent you from being able to configure the software. Once Rock-Pond Information Center is configured, you must enable Safe Mode within the settings in order for it to operate with UAC enabled. THERE ARE TWO CONFIGURATION STEPS, SYSTEM SETTINGS AND CONNECTIONS. Settings are set and changed by clicking on the icon in the top left of the screen and selecting the first option, Settings. There are two settings tabs to set the following: 1. Tell Rock-Pond Information Center where the Rock-Pond Connect folder is located and defined a user data storage location, if necessary. You may choose to have user data stored in an alternate location. User data consists of default report views, user-defined views, and report history for use in the Recently Run Reports menu within the Information Center. The default location is the users Documents folder. To specify an alternate location, access the Settings screen. Under the General tab, change the User Data Storage Location to Other and then click the browse button and select the location you wish to have user data stored in. The setting does not take effect until the Information Center is restarted. If multiple users are accessing a centralized installation, then each user would need to restart. RPR_2.1_InstallGuide.docx Page 9 of 18

When choosing an alternate location, it should be a location that is specific to the user. For example, if each user has a mapped network drive H: that is specific to them, then you would set the alternate location to H:\. Each user would then have their own H:\Rock-Pond Information Center folder and would be able to maintain their report views. The Rock-Pond Information Center folder and its subdirectories will automatically be created by the Information Center if it doesn t already exist. If you are making this change in an environment where users have already created report views, then you will need to manually copy their Rock-Pond Information Center folder from their Documents folder to the new location. Specifying an alternate location will not automatically copy their old data into the new location. 2. Compatibility mode is only necessary for instances where you are launching the Information Center under a temporary profile, which is common on Citrix and Terminal Server environments. You will need to contact Rock-Pond Solutions for special credentials to enter on this screen, which allows the software to continue to operate in a highly secure manner. If the Information Center operates fine without this enabled, you can safely ignore this. 3. Set to run in safe mode if this is being installed on a Citrix or Terminal server, User Account Control (UAC) is enabled, or you want to restrict the user s ability to change settings. When in safe mode the user cannot manage connections, settings, or update the information center. To disable safe mode, RPR_2.1_InstallGuide.docx Page 10 of 18

you will need to either set the SafeMode option in the config\rpic_settings.xml file to 0, or execute RPIC with the /admin flag and then go into settings and disable Safe Mode. 4. If you are utilizing the built in scheduling functionality and wish to disallow users from being able to schedule reports, then check the Disable Scheduling checkbox. When restarting the Information Center, you will see that the Master Report Schedule is no longer available, and the Schedule button in the report viewer is not available for selection. Scheduling can be enabled either by setting the DisableScheduling option in the config\rpic_settings.xml file to 0, or execute RPIC with the /schedule flag and then go into settings and uncheck Disable Scheduling. Using this option, you can also have a central install of the Information Center and choose for certain people to have scheduling and others not to. 5. If your company has a web proxy that requires authentication prior to allowing users to access the web, you can enable web proxy support and securely store your proxy s credentials so users don t have to enter credentials reach time the information center loads. In addition, if a web proxy is in place requiring authentication, you must save the proxy s credentials in the information center to make use of the internal application update feature available in the application s main menu. RPR_2.1_InstallGuide.docx Page 11 of 18

ESTABLISH DATABASE CONNECTIONS In order for reports to access the data in your pharmacy software s database, you must set up a connection using the Connection Manager, also accessed from the menu at the top left of the screen. The following are the steps to setting up a connection: 1. Select the application from the drop down menu. In most cases you will only have one application and it will automatically select it. 2. Select Add to add a new connection. From the add screen you can either select an ODBC connection that already exists on the system or you can set up a new one. In order to set up a new one you will need to know the Server, Database, Type of Authentication (Windows or SQL Server), login and password (SQL Server Authentication only). 3. You can set up more than one connection per application. For example, if you have a month end backup database that is named different than the production, or if you have a test area where you test releases before you install them, you can set up a connection to them as well as the production database. 4. Set the connection you want to default to as the default connection. This will keep you from having to select the connection each time you run a report. You can right-click on a report to run it from a different database (connection). 5. For each connection you can save the login and password for the database in an encrypted format so you do not have to tell Rock-Pond Information Center users what the password is and so they do not have to enter it each time they run a report. RPR_2.1_InstallGuide.docx Page 12 of 18

ESTABLISH PERMISSIONS Whether operating in full mode, or restricted mode, permissions should be applied to the Rock-Pond Connect folder, as well as the Rock-Pond Information Center Program Files folder. 1. Read/Write access should be given to those who will configure RPIC. These should be trusted administrators or power users. 2. Read-Only access should be given to those who will not need to configure RPIC and will not manage users views and connections in restricted mode. In addition, each user will need Read/Write access to their Documents folder, where their local views are stored, as well as the path that the TEMP environment variable is set to. LOAD AND TEST THE SAMPLE REPORT The final step is to run a report to make sure the reports are loaded, the Rock-Pond Information Center is finding them and everything is working properly. QUESTIONS AND TROUBLESHOOTING A list of frequently asked questions has been compiled on Rock-Pond s website. This page also includes a simple installation checklist to aid you in making sure you aren t missing any steps. The installation FAQs are at the following URL: RPR_2.1_InstallGuide.docx Page 13 of 18

IMPLEMENTING INTEGRATED SITE SECURITY - OPTIONAL When Integrated Site Security is enabled for a connection within the Rock-Pond Information Center, reports that are site-specific will only show information for sites that the current user has been assigned access to within their pharmacy system. This will prevent users from viewing information in sites that they should not have access to see. Use the following steps to enable Integrated Site Security. ENABLING INTEGRATED SITE SECURITY Integrated Site Security must be enabled on each connection for which it is to be used. This can be done within the Connection Manager. The Connection Manager is access via the program's main menu: If Integrated Site Security is enabled for a connection, it will be prefaced with [SS]. NOTE: Integrated Site Security is not supported in scheduled report tasks. CONNECTION AUTHENTICATION Any connections that are Integrated Site Security enabled must either being using Windows Authentication, or must have their SQL Server Authentication credentials stored. If using SQL Server Authentication, the credentials can be stored within the Connection Manager by selecting the connection, and choosing "Save Credentials". Refer to "Establishing Database Connections" in this document for more information. WINDOWS USERNAME / PHARMACY SYSTEM USERNAME Rock-Pond Information Center will use the Windows username to identify the person who is running reports. This username must match the username for that user in the pharmacy system. When a report is run, the information center looks at the site access list for the user that matches the Windows user that is running the report. If your company's username conventions don't require the Windows username to match the pharmacy system's username, you will need to change their username in the pharmacy system to match their Windows username before Integrated Site Security will work. RPR_2.1_InstallGuide.docx Page 14 of 18

LOCK DOWN ROCK-POND INFORMATION CENTER Once you have enabled and configured Integrated Site Security, you'll want to make sure that the user cannot disable it. There are three things you must do to prevent a user from bypassing Integrated Site Security: Enable Safe Mode in the "Setting" screen within the Rock-Pond Information Center. This will prevent users from tampering with settings and connections. Refer to the following FAQ for more information on Safe Mode: Make the Rock-Pond Information Center "Program Files" folder READ-ONLY. This will prevent users from opening up configuration files and disabling Integrated Site Security. Ensure that the user cannot easily log on to their computer using another Windows username which will prevent them from attempting to use another users' site access. RPR_2.1_InstallGuide.docx Page 15 of 18

APPENDIX A REQUIREMENTS Rock-Pond Information Center has been developed with proven, current technologies that deliver powerful features while meeting the security and systems management requirements health care providers must have. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS The following chart outlines the system requirements for servers and workstations where Rock-Pond Connect and the Rock-Pond Information Center are installed. If you have any questions or would like to discuss this further, please contact us at Workstation and Server Requirements Rock-Pond Connect Rock-Pond Information Center Windows XP or later Yes Yes Windows 2003 or later Yes Yes Citrix Server Yes Yes Terminal Server / Remote Desktop Services Yes Yes Hardware 32 or 64 bit in 32 bit mode Yes Yes.NET Framework.NET 4.0 Framework (Full Version) Yes Yes Folder Access Rock-Pond Connect Main Folder Read/Write Read Only Program Files program folder Read Only After Install Read Only After Install Local My Documents -- Read / Write Local TEMP folder -- Read / Write ODBC Connections Yes (If Using Scheduling) Yes Registry Permissions Read / Write Read Only After Install & Configuration RPR_2.1_InstallGuide.docx Page 16 of 18

DATABASE PERMISSION REQUIREMENTS The Rock-Pond Information Center will need to be configured with connections that have a minimum of readonly access to the database defined in the connection. In some cases, special permissions must be applied depending on the application you are using. HomecareNet Rock-Pond Reports that utilize the Responsible Collector use a built-in HomecareNet database function for its calculation. In order for those reports to run, this function must have execute permissions for the user that is configured in the Rock-Pond Information Center s connection. By default, when creating a user with Read-Only privileges, the execute permission is not granted to any functions, so it must manually be added. To do this, use the Object Explorer in SQL Server Management Studio and expand to the following node: Databases <HomecareNet Database> Programmability Functions Scalar-valued functions Once expanded, right click the function named fn_getbestresponsibilityrule and select Properties. On the left hand side, select Permissions. Under Users or Roles, click Search. Enter the credentials you wish to grant execute permissions to and press OK. Select the user and check the Grant box for the Execute column. This user will now have access to execute this function. TESTING: After you have applied the appropriate permissions, you should test a report that relies on it and ensure it runs properly. Open the Rock-Pond Information Center, locate and run report 1044a_4. If permissions are applied properly, the report will run without error. RPR_2.1_InstallGuide.docx Page 17 of 18

In some cases, after updates or database restores, these permissions may not be reapplied. After performing such functions, ensure the proper permissions are in place. NETWORK REQUIREMENTS Rock-Pond Connect and Rock-Pond Information Center are Internet driven applications. Certain connections are made to Rock-Pond's servers to retrieve report templates and information, settings, update files, and web based content. The following chart outlines the default network requirements for Rock-Pond Connect and Rock-Pond Information Center. *** Please note that all connections are outbound.
