Kurzweil Troubleshooting The KESI Virtual Printer is not bringing in pictures o To solve this problem you will need the Tech Coordinator for your school to do this on both the Scan and Read and the Read Only versions. o Tell the Tech Coordinator to do the following instructions: click on start>settings>printers and faxes>right click on KESI Virtual Printer>properties>ports>add port>new port>title it KESI>ok>apply>ok. o When you use Kurzweil after this has been done: Open Kurzweil, and then open the webpage that you want Kurzweil to read. Click file>print>choose the KESI Virtual Printer> apply>print> and then wait a minute or two and it will open in Kurzweil and the pictures will appear in black and white and Kurzweil will be able to read it. Scanning multiple pages and saving it as one document is a simple fix o All you need to do is place the page you want to be scanned on the scanner and click scan.
4 o After this page has been scanned, open the scanner turn to the next page that you want to scan, and then click scan. o Continue to do this until you have scanned all the pages for that activity. o Once you are finished scanning, then go ahead and click file save and save it where ever you need to. PROBLEM Scanner will not scan multiple pages: The fill in the blank text boxes don t work on documents generated in other programs (such as Microsoft WORD) that are opened in Kurzweil SOLUTION Close Kurzweilopen My Computer Program FilesKurzweil Educational SystemsDiagsScanConf.exefind Hold Scanner change setting from Default to Never This is true. In order for the fill in the blank function to work the document MUST be SCANNED into Kurzweil. So print itscan itsave it and the fill in the blank function will work.
