3 Introduction Introduction to VERAK IP VERAK IP is designed to meet the specific needs of the telecommunications, networking, industrial and electronic applications offering IP65 environmental protection. VERAK IP ensures maximum protection against the ingress of dust and water. VERAK IP is a stand alone cabinet extremely robust. The steel frame thickness of 2 mm gives the exceptional strength and rigidity, with a static load capacity of 1000 Kg. The knife-blades that interact with the sealing of the panels to ensure maximum IP sealing are an integral part of the vertical profiles. The doors, available in glass or metal option, are easily reversible (right or left opening) without interfering with the IP sealing. The unique design of the closing mechanism, which includes a seal wedge, ensures the integrity of sealing systems. A swing handle controls a 4-point locking system with central camshaft holding the proper pressure on the seals. The gasket is subjected to a minimum compression that preserves the performance of the sealing system over time, due the repeated opening of the doors. This feature is particularly useful in environments where the cabinet is opened and inspected regularly for routine maintenance. Optional rear 5U panels filtered or with forced ventilation, fitted above or below shortened rear door are designed to create an air flow inside the cabinet for dissipation of the heat generated by the installed equipment. In this case the IP protection rate is downgraded to IP 54. VERAK IP can also be provided with a pre-installed side or top air conditioning unit with dissipation power rate starting from 500W up to 6/7 KW. VERAK IP modern soft line design, slightly curved styling is equally at home in the office, the communications room or on the factory floor. 7 Structural elements Frame The frame comprises of 4 verticals and 2 end frames. Glazed door Framed door with 4 mm temperated glass, swing handle with a 4-point locking system. The options of the keyed alike lock, manual or automatic, has to be ordered separately. 7 Bottom plates To guarantee the IP protection bottom gland pla te must be fitted. This gland plate which can be fitted at the bottom of the rack can also be utilized as a cable entry panel. Metal doors 1.5 mm steel door is complete with swing handle which controls a 4-point locking system. The required lock manual/automatic or blank lock needs to be ordered separately. 5U ventilation panels With IP filter or fan plus filter, allows to create a forced air flow inside the cabinet. Usage of these panels decreases the IP performance to IP54. Side panels Side panels are sold in pairs and are 1.5 mm steel painted in RAL7035. The side panels are fitted using captive screws which allow the units to easily be fitted or removed. Baying bracket kit The kit consists of the IP gasket and 6 baying brackets. For example: If three racks are to be bayed together to make one suite of racks, one pair of side panels are required (to be used on either end of the suite) and two baying bracket kits. Swing handles Both the metal and glass doors have a swing handle fitted as stan dard. Please note, the locks for the swing handle need to be ordered separately. Keyed alike lock - self locking All locks supplied operate with the same key and the door automatically locks when closed. Keyed alike lock - manual locking All locks supplied operate with the same key. To lock the door the key must be turned. Lock blank The lock blank fills the hole in the swing handle when a lock is not required. It also acts as a spring clip holding the handle into its housing.
