3 Product Selection There are a number of factors to consider when selecting the correct enclosure to meet your needs. It is important to select the correct enclosure to optimise the life of the enclosure and internal components. Size The size of the enclosure is determined by the components and cables being housed including minimum distances between and around housed components and cables. IP Enclosures range in size from 300H x 200W x 150D to 1200H x 1200W x 400D. IP Rating IP Ratings are defined in IEC60529 (AS60529) as a two digit code detailing the extent of resistance to solids and liquids. The following table highlights the higher the number, the higher the resistance. IP Enclosures range from IP55 to IP66. Materials Material is typically selected based on the application, environment and location. IP Enclosures provide powdercoated galvanised steel for general applications and grade 316 stainless steel for high corrosion resistance. Options The application, environment, location, and installation may require certain options to be included as part of the enclosure. 7 Ordering Information - Accessories Description Steel IP-KL IP-WMB4 Key locks Wall Mount Bracket Set CG-V60 60mm Ventilator CG-V80 80mm Ventilator Key Locks IP-KL & IP-SSKL (Stainless Steel) IP Enclosures are provided standard with square drive locks for enclosures less than 1000mm wide or a 3-Point locking system for enclosures greater than 1000mm wide. A keyed lock IP-KL can be provided as an option. Key Lock Dust Cap IP-SSKLDC Key lock dust caps can be provided as an option to prevent ingress of dust and particles. Wall Mount Bracket Set IP-WMB4 & IP-SSMB Galvanised mild steel and grade 316 stainless steel wall brackets can be provided as an option. Each wall mount bracket set comes with four (4) wall brackets and fasteners. All IP Enclosures are provided with nutserts to accomodate wall mount brackets to eliminate drilling to retain IP rating integrity. Ventilator CG-V60 & CG-V80 60mm and 80mm ventilators can be provided as an option. IP Enclosures can arrange water-cutting of holes and profiles to accomodate required fittings. Customisation and Water-Cutting IP Enclosures can also provide customisation including custom hole and profile cutting to suit customer needs. IP Enclosures recommends water cutting.

Do not grind mild steel adjacent to stainless steel or rub mild steel over stainless steel as this will contaminate stainless steel which will result in rusting. It is also important to treat (pickle/passivate) heat affected areas caused by drilling, cutting or welding processes. If pickle/passivate faciltiies are not available, water-cutting holes is recommended to ensure the integrity of stainless steel is maintained. Our representatives can assist with water-cutting if required.
