3 1 What s New in this Version DVTEL Network Assistant (DNA) v supports the following new edge devices: ioi HD CB-5222 IP bullet analytic camera New Firmware Upgrade screens Special firmware upgrade from Quasar Gen I firmware (versions older than dt nsa) to any firmware version. This release note covers Supported Devices and Operating Systems, New Features, Known Issues and in Release , and Known Issues from Previous Releases. 2.1 DNA Software Location The DNA software can be downloaded from here. 4 New Features 4.1 New Help File DNA includes a new Help file. 4.2 ioi Firmware Update Change It is not possible to upgrade an ioi device with firmware 2.0.1.x

7 4 New Features 4.1 New Help File DNA includes a new Help file. 4.2 ioi Firmware Update Change It is not possible to upgrade an ioi device with firmware x to firmware x. If you try to upgrade the firmware, the following message will be displayed: "You must upgrade unit to firmware version X before upgrading to X". 4.3 New Firmware Update Screens The DNA supports three upgrade screens: 1. ioi HD and ioi Thermal cameras with built-in analytics allows upgrading both camera and analytic firmware 2. PTZ allows upgrading both camera firmware and camera head firmware 3. Single-file upgrade DNA includes new Firmware Update screens. After selecting the unit in the Discovery list, click the Firmware Update tab or right-click your mouse and select Firmware Update from the context menu. An icon in the Status column indicates whether firmware update was successful or not. The check mark indicates that the firmware update was successful. The Error icon indicates that the firmware update was not successful. The number of successful or not successful updates is indicated after the icon. To receive a report of the firmware update process, check the Report checkbox. ioi HD, ioi Thermal CT-5322F, and ioi Thermal CT-5642F cameras include built-in analytics and utilize two firmware files: one for the camera system and one for the analytics operations. Click the Browse button to select each file. Then click Update to upgrade the software. The screen for updating an ioi HD or ioi Thermal unit with built-in analytics is displayed below: February 11, 2016 Page 7

8 PTZ cameras include utilize two firmware files: one for the camera system and one for the PTZ head. Click the Browse button to select each file. Then click Update to upgrade the software. The screen for updating a PTZ camera is displayed below: Only one file can be selected for a camera that is not PTZ or does not include analytics. Click the Browse button to select the file. Then click Update to upgrade the software. The screen for updating a unit without analytics is displayed below: When upgrading firmware from any Quasar camera with FW version older than dt nsa, select the desired firmware version and click Update to upgrade to the selected firmware version. See section 4.4 below regarding updating firmware versions prior to dt nsa. Note: 1. If the camera firmware version is older than dt nsa, and the firmware version is dt nsa or higher, DNA will restore only IP settings, Hostname, PAL/NTSC, user credentials, var parameters and Iris calibration. 2. During Quasar upgrade procedure, if DNA didn't discover the camera after reboot timeout (which can be as much as 14 minutes), the upgrade will fail without retrying. We recommend manually restarting the camera. 4.4 Upgrading from Quasar Firmware Prior to Version dt nsa to Version dt nsa or higher If you receive an error code when upgrading from Quasar Firmware Prior to Version dt nsa to Version dt nsa or higher, contact DVTEL Support and provide them with the error code. 9 5 Known Issues and s in Release BUG ID SUMMARY COMMENTS Occasionally the switch firmware (switch.bin) for PTZ fails when upgrading from Quasar dt nsa or higher firmware to any firmware up to or including dt nsa WinPcap can be installed automatically only with Admin privileges When upgrading the firmware of a Quasar PTZ camera from dt nsa to dt nsa, a status message Upgrading to Transition Firmware is displayed ioi Thermal camera reboots when trying to set a camera to DHCP when it's already configured in DHCP DNA did not check the IP address when the same IP was assigned from the second NIC IP DNA occasionally crashes when configuring ioi units DNA did not discover a Pro Line A device that was added manually from a different VLAN. It is possible to complete the firmware upgrade process with an invalid firmware file on a Quasar camera. ioi There is no warning message that the user cannot downgrade firmware Horizon and Meridian DNA fails when pressing the Refresh button Ariel CB/CM-3102 Occasionally, DNA does not assign an IP address when DCHP is enabled after hard factory reset. Win 2008 (32-bits) It is not possible to discover Quasar CB/CM-620x and Ariel CB/CM-3102 devices. Retry or enter static IP address. February 11, 2016 Page 9

10 6 Known Issues and s from Previous Releases The following limitations exist from releases prior to : BUG ID SUMMARY COMMENTS - N/A CB/CM-3011 Broadcast protocol (SADP Protocol) is disabled by default on Windows 8.1 and Windows Server Use a different OS It is not possible to upgrade firmware on MPEG4 Pro Line units HD Classic update firmware is not supported The Web feature is enabled for units that do not have a web interface An invalid IP number can be assigned to a unit Only the camera icon is displayed When manually adding an IP address that ends with ".0" from a different VLAN, all units from that VLAN are added EV-116 > DNA does not support Performs Mode change function. This process is functional only through the Pro Line Configurator CP-4211/CP-3211->There is no option to "Restore factory settings (excluding network and PTZ settings)" as an Administrator The Discovery list does not display setup updates that occur outside of DNA, such as the unit's firmware version ioi - 'Up time' is not displayed for ioi units that were added manually from another VLAN HD-PTZ - When upgrading from dt nsa to dt nsa, some parameters (Max gain, Shutter priority and ICR functions) were not saved and the DNA log did not mark them as an error When setting the IP address on a unit in another VLAN, DNA did not check if the IP already exists It is not possible to filter an already filtered Discovery list The.ini file is case sensitive and commands will not be enabled if not written in lower case ioi - It's possible to set an ioi unit name using meta-characters in DNA, but it is not possible from the unit s web page. - Use only legal English characters HD Classic - It is not possible to add a unit from a different VLAN when the unit is set with DHCP HD Classic - After partial factory default, the unit s name is stuck, even after refresh Pro Line A - It is not possible to set a static IP address when using DNA If a unit does not use HTTP port 80, DNA discovers all units in Limited Access mode or in Error mode. It cannot assign that unit an IP address or configure the unit When a Quasar unit is in Limited Access mode and the unit is set to DHCP mode, but there is no DHCP server on the network, the Device Properties window indicates Static IP instead of DHCP When using a Low priority NIC, setting an IP on the High priority NIC results in a status error for all units as not authenticated.
