3 1. Introduction 1. Introduction This document is merely intended as a guide when using in the Ascom VoWiFi System, and it does not by any means replace the documentation delivered with the Ekahau RTLS. The settings described in this document are extensions and apply for Unite CM when used in combination with components. For maximum performance in the VoWiFi System, consider the recommendations in the document System Planning Ascom VoWiFi System, TD 92408GB For more information about location in Ascom VoWiFi System, see Function, Location in Ascom VoWiFi System, TD 92607GB. 1.1 Requirements Software versions Unite CM For i62: 2.03 or later For Ascom Myco: or later AMC 4.11 or later 1.2 Abbreviations and Glossary AMC RTLS Unite CM Event Handler Alarm Management Client: operator s panel with graphical alarm presentation Real-Time Location System Unite Connectivity Manager: Unite module that enables messaging and alarm handling in a VoWiFi system. It also includes the Device Manager. The Event Handler makes it possible to set up actions on incoming events. An event can be mobile data, an alarm, or an activation of an input received by Unite CM. The Event Handler then performs different actions depending on the incoming event. Actions can be both internal (such as starting other actions after a delay), and external (such as sending a message, start a siren, or present information about the alarm in the AMC). 1

4 2. Configuration 2. Configuration Make sure that the following settings in the modules are correct. The complete configuration for the respective module is described in their manuals, see chapter 3. Related Documents on page VoWiFi Handset For i62: 1 Select Location > Common. Location scanning Scanning interval Scans per scanning period 2 Select Location > Ekahau. IP address Listening port Location scanning must be enabled. The time in seconds between scanning periods. The number of scans during each scanning period. The Ekahau location server address. The port to the Ekahau location server is default. For Ascom Myco: 1 Select Location services > Wi-Fi location. Location scanning Scanning interval Scans per scanning period Ekahau network address Location scanning must be enabled. The time in seconds between scanning periods. The number of scans during each scanning period. The Ekahau location server address. 2.2 Unite CM WS Interface 1 Select WS interface > WS System. External location server External location server address The time set here must correspond to the time set in the Event Handler. This is the maximum time an alarm will wait for location data from the location server before the alarm is distributed to the alarm recipients, i.e. the delay that is acceptable in your specific system. The IP address of the Unite CM with the Event Handler enabled Event Handler 1 Select Persistent Elements in Event Handler configuration and add the following persistent elements/values: 2

5 2. Configuration HTTP timeout Server IP address Server port 2 Activate the configuration. The time set here must correspond to the time set in the Unite CM. The Ekahau location server address. The port to the Ekahau location server is default ASCII NOTE: It is assumed that Event triggers, actions etcetera have been configured in the Event Handler. Refer to the Programming Guide, Event Handler, TD 92329GB. 1 Select Input interfaces > ASCII. 2 Select an HTTP Client Connection (always use the first in the list). 3 Enter the following settings in the HTTP Client parameters: Name User name/password Request timeout The name of the location server. A descriptive name only used in the Unite CM. This should correspond to the user name and password for the Ekahau location server. The time set here must correspond to the time set in Unite CM and the HTTP timeout in Event Handler. 2.3 AMC Configuration 1 Create a location in the AMC, refer to Installation Guide, Alarm Management Client, TD 92145GB. Location ID The same as the zone ID in the Ekahau location server. Usually not needed. This is set in the Ekahau location server. 2.4 Configuration Refer to the documentation delivered with the components. NOTE: When configuring the for use with Ascom Myco handsets, make sure that the device type "Ascom Myco" is supported by the Ekahau version used. To find out if Ascom Myco is supported, see the Device support information list in the Configs view of the Controller. If Ascom Myco is not supported, request an updated Device Support File from the Ekahau support team. 3
