The all new SurePOS 500 Express provides a sleek compact design that complements any store image, the powerful technology that enables retailers to provide superior customer service, and integrated touchscreen technology that reduces training time and improves employee productivity. The new SurePOS 500 Express enables smarter operation with less cost using an energy-efficient mobile processor and power-saving deep sleep automation technology. In addition, each model includes POSReady Operating System preloaded and a SureMark Single Station printer; all you need is an application. Retailers will be able to improve service with tool-free access to components such as the hard drive, power supply, and memory DIMMs. And with the built-in security features and IBM's unique retail-hardened design/construction, retailers will find it easier to manage risk. In an increasingly connected world, businesses need a platform to help ease the transition from transaction processing to enhanced customer service and relationship building. The next generation of SurePOS 500 Express offers Windows Embedded POSReady operating system preloaded, which is designed specifically for the point-of-service devices to help enable this transition. Key prerequisites The SurePOS 500 Express includes the new SurePOS 500 with sleek design, slimmer footprint, and energy-efficient mobile processor technology. It also includes Microsoft POSReady preload and SureMark Single Station printer. The following operating systems are supported: Microsoft Windows Embedded POSReady Microsoft Windows XP Professional Edition Microsoft Windows Embedded for Point of Service V1.1 upgrade SLEPOS 11 (Linux ) PCDOS 2000 Note: PCDOS does not support USB and may not support Power Management function. 3 Description IBM 4961 SurePOS 500 Model E2S The Model E2S bundle combines the new SurePOS 500 with Microsoft POSReady OS preloaded on the system along with the enhanced SureMark Single Station printer. The E2S SurePOS 500 system comes standard with: Intel Celeron M373 (1.0 GHz) 512 MB DDR2 memory DIMM (up to 2 GB) 160 GB HDD SATA 15-inch Resistive Touch LCD Intel Integrated Graphics Device The system's tailgate has the following I/O ports: (1X) 24V powered USB (2X) Standard USB (1X) Powered RS232 (3X) Standard RS232 (2X) Cash drawer ports (1X) PS/2 Keyboard (1X) PS/2 Mouse and PS/2 Keyboard Along with optional features orderable to expand system units function: Magnetic Strip Reader (MSR) USB Biometric Fingerprint Reader Wireless LAN (802.11) support via USB Dongle This bundle includes the SureMark Single Station printer (Model 1NR) which provides thermal receipt printing and printing speed up to 80 lines per second (lps). Several ease-of-use features have been added to this printer. Easy drop-and-load paper loading and a cover open button make paper loading fast and easy. This printer has superior reliability, serviceability, and usability. Warranty period One year Warranty service Machine type 4961 Model E2S IBM will repair the failing machine at your location and verify its operation. You must provide a suitable working area to allow disassembly and reassembly of the IBM machine. The area must be clean, well lit, and suitable for the purpose. 24 hours per day, 7 days a week, next-day response, excluding holidays. For additional IBM service cover options during warranty, contact your IBM Business Partner or local IBM representative. Machine type 4961 Model E2A Note: This model is for UK only. Depot Warranty Service You must disconnect the failing machine for collection arranged by IBM. IBM will provide you with a shipping container for you to return your machine to a designated service center. A courier will pick up your machine and deliver it to the designated service center. Following its repair or exchange, IBM will arrange the return delivery of the machine to your location. You are responsible for its installation and verification. The service level is Courier Repair, fourth business day turnaround time, 9 hour day, Monday through Friday, excluding public or national holidays.
