1 CRESTRON CONTROL PANEL MULTIPLE USE MANUAL Edinburg Classrooms Classroom Technology Quick Reference Guide

3 TYPES OF CONTROL PANELS There are various types of projector control panels installed in classrooms on the Edinburg Campus. They may look slightly different, however control buttons are similar enough that they are operated more or less the same.
4 MULTIMEDIA BOX 1. Press down on the Multimedia Box and the touch panel will pop up. Note: Some control panels may not have a multimedia box and will instead be readily available and visible on the desk.
5 TURNING PROJECTOR ON/OFF 1. After pressing the ON button, wait 60 seconds for the projector to warm up. 2. Once the projector is ready, the system will allow you to select your source.
6 ADJUSTING VOLUME 1. Press to raise the volume. 2. Press to lower the volume. 3. Press MUTE to turn off volume completely. To disengage mute, press MUTE or either volume button. *If volume is not working, check audio settings of computer or laptop.
7 INPUT SOURCE: PC 1. Press PC to change the source of the projector to the classroom computer. 2. Log on to the classroom computer with your UTRGV and password. 3. Before exiting the classroom, be sure to log off the computer.
8 INPUT SOURCE: DOC CAM 1. Select DOC CAM to display documents using the classroom document camera. 2. Press the Power button (or ON) on the document camera. 3. Wait a few seconds for the document camera to fully turn on. 4. When finished with the document camera, press the Power button (or OFF) on the document camera again to power it down.
9 INPUT SOURCE: LAPTOP Fig.1 Fig.2 Fig.3 VGA and Audio cables for Windows Laptops are included in each classroom. 1. To locate VGA & Audio cables, open up the classroom's workstation drawer (Fig.1). 2.VGA and Audio Cables will be located inside (Fig.2). NOTE: These cables only connect directly to Windows Laptops. If a Mac Laptop needs to be displayed via projector, a Mini DisplayPort to VGA Adapter will be needed (Fig. 3). For more information call the IT Help Desk (number located on pg. 2), and ask to speak to AV Support.
10 INPUT SOURCE: LAPTOP(WINDOWS) 1. Select LAPTOP to display personal laptop using the projector. 2.. Connect one end of the VGA cable to the connector that says Computer. 3. Connect the other end of the VGA cable to the laptop. 4. Connect one end of the audio cable to the connector that says Audio. 5. Connect the other end to the laptop.
11 MUTIMEDIA BOX: LAPTOP If there is a multimedia box is installed in classroom, connections will be inside box. 1. Connect one end of the VGA cable to the connector that says Computer and the other end of the VGA cable to the laptop. 2. Connect one end of the audio cable to the connector that says AUDIO and connect the other to the laptop.
12 INPUT SOURCE: DVD/VCR Fig.1 X X Fig.2 Note: Both DVD & VCR options have been disabled on the Crestron control panels (Fig.1). AV support recommends professors transfer VHS to DVD. 1. To play a DVD, switch to classroom computer by selecting PC (Fig. 1). 2. Log in to computer with UTRGV username & password. 3. Insert DVD into computer's DVD Drive. 4. An Autoplay popup should appear (Fig. 2). 5. Select any of the two options (Windows Media Player or VLC media player) to play DVD.

Note: In some classrooms, the HELP function has been disabled and will not work. If HELP function is disabled sumbit an IT Help Request through ServiceNow. Instructions on following page.
15 IT HELP REQUEST If you are experiencing any technical difficulties with equipment and need assistance, submit a Help Request through ServiceNow. 1. Go to my.utrgv.edu and login with your UTRGV Credentials 2. Select ServiceNow under Applications. 3. Click on Something Broken? under the Need Help? 4. Fill out the form and then click submit.
