3 Welcome! Scenic Regional Library (SRL) has purchased Freegal Movies and this guide will provide you with the information you need to use it. What is Freegal Movies? Freegal Movies is a video streaming service offered through libraries that allows patrons to stream feature films and television episodes. Here are some interesting facts about Freegal Movies. It is comprised of thousands of feature films and television episodes. There is no software to download. Freegal Movies Offerings to Patrons Any SRL patrons who have library accounts in good standing can access Freegal Movies using their library card number to log in to the system. Once logged into the Freegal Movies site, they can stream feature films and television episodes. Patrons are able to stream three feature films and / or television episodes each week. Once a film or television episode is selected, patrons have it for 48 hours and can watch it as many times as they wish in that time period. The week starts over on Monday at 12:01 a.m. and any movie allocations they have not used that week are lost. 2

7 Freegal Movies Homepage Once logged into the Freegal Movies website, you will land on the Homepage. The Homepage is divided into five sections. At the very top of the site is the menu bar. Below the menu bar are three sections that display featured films and television shows. At the very bottom of the Homepage, there are additional links with helpful information including information on how to download the mobile applications of this service. 6

8 Top Menu Bar Most of the features and functions of the Freegal Movies website are accessed through this menu bar. Menu Bar Search Feature To utilize the search feature of the website, enter the keyword for your search in the field and then press the Enter key. Enter your keyword here and press Enter. My Account The My Account link allows you to access the items that you are currently streaming during the available 48 hour period. Hover your mouse over My Account to reveal the Currently Watching link. 7

9 Top Menu Bar, continued Logout Clicking on Logout signs you out of your Freegal Movies account. Click here to logout of your account. Movie Counter The Movie Counter keeps track of how many films / television episodes you have left to stream during the current week. Look here to see how many movies / television episodes you have left for the week. Home The Home link takes you to the Homepage of the Freegal Movies website. Click here to go to the Homepage. 8

Bottom Menu The menu at the bottom of the website has several links that will take you to pages with more helpful information. The Home and FAQ links will take you to those pages.

The About link will take you a page that contains a short description of the company. The Terms and Conditions page takes you to a page that lists all the legal aspects of utilizing this website. The two app buttons on the right side of the page will take you to internet sites that list instructions on how to download the apps for your mobile devices. 13

15 Streaming Films and Television Shows In order to stream a film, look for and click on the Stream Now button. In some cases, this button will be located on the page where the film is featured. In other cases, you may need to hover your mouse over the picture of the film to reveal a menu with the button. In order to stream a television show, click on the picture of the television show to reveal a list of episodes that are available. Click on Stream Now next to any episode you wish to watch. As a reminder, once you click on the Stream Now button, you will have used one of your three allotted movies for the week and you will be able to view your selection as many times as you want for 48 hours. 14

The Freegal Movies App for Mobile Devices The Freegal Movies App can be downloaded onto Apple and Android devices with and operating system of 3.2 or higher.

16 The Freegal Movies App for Mobile Devices The Freegal Movies App can be downloaded onto Apple and Android devices with and operating system of 3.2 or higher. Downloading the App To download the app onto an Apple device, do a search for Freegal Movies in the App Store. You may need to enter your itunes password as part of this process. To download the app onto an Android device, do a search for Freegal Movies in the Google Play Store. Please note that Android devices need an operating system of 3.2 or higher. Logging Into the App In order to use the app, you will need your library card number. Follow the steps below to login. 1. Open the Freegal App on your device. 2. Enter your zip code and press Go. 15

18 The Freegal Movies App for Mobile Devices App Features Home The Home page has a scrolling banner with featured movies, a most popular section and a new arrival section. These sections scroll horizontally so you can see more selections in each category. Click on any title to read more about it, stream it immediately or add it to My Movies to watch later. Menu Click on the menu button to see a list of options available in the app. The options are divided into two categories: My Account and Categories. The menu button is located here. This menu is revealed when the menu button is pressed. It is a vertically scrollable menu and can be closed by pressing the menu button again. 17

To begin streaming or to learn more details about any selections listed here, simply press the selection. FAQ This section allows you to view the most frequently asked questions and their corresponding answers. To view the answer to a question, click on the + sign. 18
