5 Chapter 1 Introduction Sitecore s Online Document Generator (ODG) allows business users to reuse and edit existing marketing collateral. With the Design Manager you can make designs available for business users to work with in the Document Publisher. Refer to the ODG Document Publisher User Manual for instructions on how to edit marketing collateral. This document describes how you can create collections with the Design Manager. 6 Chapter 2 Getting Started with the Design Manager This chapter describes how to start the Design Manager. This chapter contains the following sections: Overview Logging In Page 6
7 2.1 Overview ODG allows you to reuse and edit existing marketing collateral such as advertisements, flyers, minicatalogs, and so on. You can create marketing collateral without the assistance of a creative professional. This way you can promote and protect your company's corporate identity. You can reuse available data, designs, and media. ODG also allows you to influence what is promoted when and how. Page 7
8 Online Document Generator 2.2 Logging In To log in to the Design Manager: 1. Ask your system administrator for the (web) address and user data. 2. Enter your user name and password. Select the Language In the User Interface Language dropdown box. Login with the Launch Pad option selected. The software starts loading in the browser. 3. Click Design Manager to access the interface. The main screen shows the Collections menu, the Most Used Collections, and the Active Collections. The dashboard: Create collection - here you can create a new collection. See Create a Collection to learn more. All collections - click here to view both active and inactive collections. Active collections - lists all currently used collections and their usage. Page 8

10 Chapter 3 Working with Collections This chapter describes the functionality of the Design Manager. It contains procedure descriptions on how to create, edit, delete, and view collections. It also describes how to generate statistics and reports on collateral usage. Create a Collection Edit a Collection Delete a Collection View a Collection Page 10
11 3.1 Create a Collection You can prepare your collections with the Design Manager. To create a collection, you need to set what InDesign template(s), products (content items) are available for this collection. You need to specify the user(s) and/or user group(s) allowed to work with the collection as well as the start and end date for the campaign. To create a new collection: 1. In the Design Manager Dashboard, click Create new collection. 2. Enter a name and click Create General To add collection details: 1. In the GENERAL section, enter a start date and end date. If you don t enter a start and/or end date, the collection will not be available for users of the Document Publisher. Page 11
12 Online Document Generator 2. Enter a description for your collection Design In the DESIGN section, you can add the designs that you need for the new collection. You can preview the designs on the right-hand side of the panel. To select a design: In the Available designs section, select the design that you need and click Add. Page 12
13 Note If the design that you need is not available in the Available designs section, the InDesign project or the Design template may not be available in Sitecore. Ask your Administrator or refer to the ODG Administrator Manual Participants In the PARTICIPANTS section, you can add the users or roles for whom the collection needs to be made available. To add a user: 1. Go to the drop-down menu and click Add. 2. Select a user and click OK. Sometimes it can be convenient to allow a group of participants access to a design. You can do this by allowing access to everybody with a specific role. To add a role: Page 13
14 Online Document Generator 1. Go to the drop-down menu and click Add. 2. Select a role and click OK. To remove a role or user: Select the user or role and click Remove in the drop-down menu. Page 14
15 3.1.4 Data In the DATA section, you can select the content items that you want to be available for the collection. For example, if you want the business users to be able to change hotels on a leaflet, you can make the content items for different hotels available here. The business user can now change the content item to change the content of the leaflet. To select the content items: Select the data in the data field and click the Add data arrow Summary In the SUMMARY section, you see an overview of the choices that you made for the collection. To save the collection: Click Save to save the collection. Page 15
16 Online Document Generator 3.2 Edit a Collection To edit a collection: Select the collection in the All Collections or Active Collections panel and click Edit in the righthand panel. You can also go to the drown-down menu, and click Edit. Go to Create a Collection to see how to edit the collection. Page 16
17 3.3 Delete a Collection To delete a collection: Select the collection, go to the drop-down menu, and click Delete. Warning Deleting Collections could affect documents created from that collection in the Document Publisher. Users may not be able to change the design or assign data in the editor. Page 17
18 Online Document Generator 3.4 View a Collection You can monitor the progress and usage of your collection by viewing the Collection Details. To view the design of an existing collection: Select the collection, go to the drop-down menu, and click View. The Collection Details dashboard shows you: Designs usage - how often a design in the collection is used. Page 18
