1 User adds an additional role to their account User adds an additional role to their account The following walk-thru explains how to add an additional role to existing EIDM account. 1. The User will go to the CMS Enterprise Identity Management (EIDM) Portal at If the User does not have an Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) Device registered to their account, they will enter their User ID, Password, check "Agree to our Terms and Conditions" box, and select "Login". Once the User has checked the "Agree to our Terms and Conditions" box on their device, they will not have to check the box again because the system will remember that device for future logins. The User can read the Terms & Conditions by selecting the link.
2 If the User has an MFA Device registered to their account, the page will automatically display the "Choose MFA Device" field once they enter their User ID and Password. The User will enter their password and select the MFA Device Type from the drop-down menu under "Choose MFA Device".
3 The User will enter the Security Code provided from their MFA Device, check the "Agree to our Terms and Conditions" box, and select "Login". Once the User has checked the "Agree to our Terms and Conditions" box on their device, they will not have to check the box again because the system will remember that device for future logins. The User can read the Terms & Conditions by selecting the link.
4 2. The User will be directed to the "My Portal" page which will display each applications to which the User has access in EIDM. Each application will be shown in an icon box. The User will select "Request/Add Apps" or select the white triangle next to their name and "My Access" from the drop-down menu. The icon box identifying the application to which the User has access is a link which can be selected to navigate directly to that application, the page will only display the first six applications the User has access to in EIDM. However, Users who have access to the PS&R will not have a link to the PS&R Application.
5 3. Under "My Access" the User will select "Add Role" under "Available Actions". Providers Users cannot register for multiple roles for the same organization. However, they can register for multiple roles for different organizations. A Fiscal Intermediary/Medicare Administrative Contractor (FI/MAC) can only have one PS&R Role and only one STAR role for the same MAC. A user cannot work for more than one MAC at the same time. FI/MAC users are the only type of user who can have more than one role for the same organization. Only Users who work for a Fiscal Intermediary/Medicare Administrative Contractor (FI/MAC) can register as a PS&R/STAR Backup Security Official, PS&R/STAR Admin or PS&R/STAR User. These Users cannot be a Medicare Provider/Supplier too.
6 4. The radio button next to "I work for a Medicare Provider and I want to register for PS&R" will be be selected for the User. The User will select the "Select a Role" drop-down menu. 5. From the drop-down menu the User will select a role. If the User selects the PS&R Backup Security Official (SO), PS&R Admin or PS&R User role, there must be an approved PS&R Security Official (SO) for the organization.
7 6. The page will refresh and the search options will populate. The User will enter part of the Legal Business Name (LBN), select the State from the drop-down menu and select Search. The User can put in the first word of the LBN and the state where the Security Official registered the organization.
8 7. The User will select their organization from the drop-down menu. The User will enter a "Reason for Request", then select "Next". If their organization did not appear in the drop-down menu, then the User will need to search by the full LBN and make sure they are selecting the State the SO chose when they registered for access. 8. The User will review their request before submitting it and then select "Submit" to continue.
9 9. After the request has been submitted, the User will receive a Request Tracking Number. The organization's SO will be responsible for approving all requests for the PS&R BSO, PS&R User and PS&R Admin roles. EUS can ONLY approve SO requests. 10. When the request is approved it will appear on the "View/Modify PS&R/STAR Role Information" page under "My Role Information". Article E021
A Fiscal Intermediary/Medicare Administrative Contractor (FI/MAC) can only have one PS&R Role and only one STAR role for the same MAC.
