(e.g database administrator,website maintainers) 2) Database type that is involved in the functioning of the system? 3) Can we get any of the flash files which are to be converted to HTML5 for testing purpose? 5) Which version of flash is currently being used? 6) Are there any login issues? 7) Does the system operate with any active directory system? 8) Are we moving 3-5 lessons from Listos to Leamos? 9) What is the Primary ID for the database? 10) What is the view of the database (schema)? 11) Is the new system on moodle? 12) How different is the new system from the old system? 13) Are the flash files on the old version and new version the same? 14) On the old website, what is cd rom and internet options related to? 15) Are the answers to quizzes stored in the database and processed for interactive purposes?

3 16) Are the pilot lessons going to be in flash? 17) Do we need to develop a separate website for Listos? 18) Do we have to develop interactive sales website (currently on CMS platform) from the scratch or just enhance the current functionalities? The following question asked by the client to the team: 1) Would you like to see what the old student database looks like? 2) How many team members? 3) Do you need any clarifications on old website? 4) Please clarify what do you mean by technologies to be used for new website? 5) Please explain what schema means?

4 Describe the infrastructure currently utilized at the client s organization (i.e. hardware, software, network, etc.) The client currently has 2 versions of the website. The older version runs on IIS/ASP hosted by 3 rd party. The newer version runs on PHP hosted on the Moodle platform. The students either access website through browser or attend classroom which have Windows OS and access the lessons in flash compatible browser. The students in classroom do not login using active directory but login to the local machine. The users/organizations visit the website and based on the information interact with Centro Latino via . Currently there exists no electronic payment system for their users/organizations to pay for the lessons and everything is manual.

5 List all (or as many as you were able to observe) the artifacts used by the system or by the users in operating the system. Provide a brief description about each artifact. For artifacts that have not been shown or given to you but have requested for, specify the planned delivery date for them. Since there is no specific software system currently being used, there were no software artifacts and documents available. The artifacts we have been provided are the standard manual forms that the client currently uses for operation. Knowing the backend schema is essential for the migration. Client is not sure about the backend systems in place. We were shown the old website which runs on ASP. The client showed us the administration forms and then gave a demo of the user view. The user s session started from where they had previously left off. The users can only view previously completed lessons. There are 43 lessons, each having 3-6 sections. Each section is a flash file. We were shown the new website which runs on the Moodle platform. The client gave a demo of the user view which was similar to the old website with the difference being that the user had to select a lesson to Requested Shown Received.

6 Flash files Sales website Leamos classroom Listos classroom start seeing the video (extra step). The course structure is same as in the old website. Both websites refer the same flash files. The flash files which are in AS 2.0 SWF 8.0 format need to be converted to HTML 5 to make it compatible with the modern browsers. In order to get some information regarding conversion, we requested for one of the flash files. We were shown how the clients use the current website to get information about the courses and the price, but have no option to pay online. We were told that the Organizations which were interested in the courses contacted Centro Latino admins via and process the payment via check, delaying the availability of the courses to the customer. We were taken to the leamos classroom where non- literate people take lessons. We had a closer view of what problems the user encounters while taking the lessons e.g. While logging in the new system they had to perform an extra step. We were then taken to the listos classroom where a lecturer was teaching students (noncomputer based lessons).it was Received. Received. Shown. Shown.

7 advanced course like learning how to write in spanish and Maths. Also, we were told by the client that 3-5 lessons were to be moved to a computer based system.

8 Sketch the business workflows around the current system 1&2) First the customer goes to the Leamos website and browses the course information and gets the admin contact details. 3) He contacts the Centro Latino Admin and sends the check and passes the details number of students and their information. 4) The admin logs into the website and creates the organization (information), assigns tutors and creates login for students. 5) The admin contacts the customer and passes the login details of the student. 6) The customer passes the login information to the students. 7) The students login to the website and view the lessons and assignments. 8) The Admin generates the reports and publishes the results on the website to attract other potential customers.

9 As clients may sometimes leave out critical information when proposing a project, suggest any changes that need to be made to the project description to correctly reflect the project that you are actually implementing (e.g. include technical details). Following are the missing technical requirement details: 1) Backend database systems and their schema. The client has requested migration of data from an old database to the current database. However, it is not clear from the requirements as to which database systems constitute the old and the new system. 2) For the conversion of flash to html5 videos, the version of flash files should be mentioned. Different flash files have different compatibility issues while converting to HTML5. Some tools support only specific versions. 3) Based on the requirements its not clear as to how many videos need to be converted. There have mentioned 43 lessons, but this does not correspond to 43 videos. We now know that each lesson has 3-6 sections, and each section is a video. 4) Based on the requirement for converting Listos to HTML5, its not clear as to what feature are to be implemented. After interaction with the client, we know that we have to make the videos to HTML5, which will then be added as courses to Moodle platform. More clarity was required. 5) The requirement about developing an interactive sales website is not very clear. Now we know that we have to interface it with Course Merchant (3 rd party application) for e-payment.
