1 Project Guide - Time location with PLANER ET PROFESSIONAL 2011 Description This Guide summarizes operational way, the steps and most important functions to carry out a complete cycle of management of programming time location of a project, with software PLANER ET professional view Does the project guide can activate and have view on the screen through the PLANER ET Professional program option: Menu /? (Help) / Guides / Project - Professional Guide, or also in Menu / View / Project Guide time location. Important.-If you is owner of a PLANER ET Professional license, and wants it to behave as the standard rather than professional version, you must select it as soon as possible, from the menu option / Tools / Options...Work in standard mode. 3 1. Create the project from a template or open an existing Menu / File / New... Establish the reference image of the time location diagram Menu / Project / Project Information/ Time Location/ General Choose the orientation of the diagram type Time-Location for horizontal projects (road, via conduction, urbanization, Drawing of plant, etc.) or Location-Time to vertical (building height, elevation, etc.) Select the file reference image that you want to insert the diagram jpg, bmp, gif, etc. marking Image File and looking for its location. Define the distribution of the diagram on the paper Menu / Project / Time Location / Page Choose the most appropriate distribution of the size of the margins, header, image, legend, footer or box. Please press the button set to automatically calculate the area reserved for the reference image, in order to maintain their share and prevent loss of quality in the imported file. Draw background gridline Menu / Format / Gridline Location and Time It may represent up to four lines (Primary, Secondary, Tertiary and Quaternary) at the bottom of the diagram, different type or configuration (thickness, style, and color) and for different Intervals, for both the axis of time and distance. The order in which lines are drawn with your overlaps goes Quaternary to Primary. If you wish you can deselect the line for display later. 8 From the window of Time - Location create the list of the activities the project with the help of the buttons the vertical toolbar Optionally can import Planer or even Microsoft Project activities from the screen entry of activities through Menu / view / input of activities, using the corresponding buttons of import. Estimate quantity and output Double click on the activity tab Estimate From the space-time diagram, select an activity from the list and double click on it, and in the Estimate tab enter the Remaining quantity (Rem. Qty) (even in days), Unit and Remaining Output (Rem. Output) per team per day to calculate the Remaining Duration (Rem. Dur.) scheduled. 10 Choose the Activity type (Act. Type) among: Effort (scheduled duration shortens with more resources), Interval (the length remains independent in the number of allocated resources) and Lapse (the activity duration extends automatically between his predecessor and his successor). By default displays Effort. Enter in the fields Constraint and Date those forced dates that have been imposed and affect scheduling the task. By default it appears As soon as possible. It can also enter and even paste estimation data through tables of activities in Menú / View / Tables / Activities / Quantity and output. Allocate resources to activities Double click on the activity General tab With the button Allocate resource from the display of the Time - Location diagram, it is possible to assign a resource to an activity, stretch, or selected summary activity, even the sublevels that contains. If you prefer, can select from the tree of activities an activity or summary activity and a double click on it to edit the field Resource on the General tab. Type in this field the names of a new resource allocated or select it from the dropdown list and click Ok to exit. The allocation of the resource is optional and limited to a single resource name by activity or summary activity. If you have imported the activities for an Ms Project file, the activities imported display automatically allocated resource tasks origin. You can also create and assign resources through tables of activities and resources in Menu/View/Tables. Calibrate the reference image Menu / Format / Calibrate Image If the reference image corresponds approximately to a longitudinal layout, enter the current coordinates of two points captured with the mouse on the image, to calibrate the measurement of space. Do it without expand or reduce the zoom during capture points. If your image does not correspond approximately with a linear development, you can capture the location of start and finish of the activity by clicking on the top window image, possible calibrations independent. Capture or enter the coordinates of the activities Double click on the activity tab General From the screen of the Time - Location diagram, select an activity or summary activity of the tree of activities and a double click on it to manually enter the point of start and finish of the General tab, or either a point of start or finish and length. Alternatively to write, can capture on the image the two coordinates by clicking the button Measure activity (compass) of the toolbar and select two points of start and finish or vice versa (according to the direction of execution) of the top or side image reference. Format activities Double click in the activity Format Select with a tick in the tree of activities from the screen of the diagram those activities and/or summary activities to display in the diagram. 18 From the screen of the time-location diagram, select in the tree or in diagram, an activity and double click on it to enter all their dependencies with the rest of the project, through the Links tab Predecessors. From the time-location diagram screen, select an activity from the tree or in the diagram, and double click on it to enter all its dependencies with the rest of the project, through the tab Links Predecessors. Browse all activities asking for all the conditions to be met so that the activity can start to run (predecessors). Then create a link on the Predecessors tab for each condition, specifying the activity on which it depends (predecessor), the link type from among the possible five: Finish- Start (activity cannot start before the end of predecessor), Start-Finish (activity cannot finish before the start of predecessor), Start-Start (activity cannot start before the end of predecessor,) Finish-Finish (activity cannot end before the end of predecessor) and Dual (double condition SS+FF), and the postposition of advancement or delay in the programming of the link days or natural, both in quantity, quantity %, etc. The successors are created in addition, so at this point can ignore initially. Formatting resources Double click on the resource From the screen of the Time - Location diagram, choose from the tree of activities a resource allocated to an activity or summary activity and make a double click on it to configure the format and appearance of all the activities in which the resource is allocated. You can change the description of the resource that will appear in the diagram and the the legend by modifying the text of the Label. You can also not be displayed in the diagram TL any activity in which it is allocated, by checking the option Hide Resource. Similarly, you can hide or display a discontinuous or line Sequence which links consecutively at the time the activities allocated to the resource, well as the option to display or not the name of the resource in the Legend to print the diagram. The button of the resource form lets you customize the width of the line or frame of the form, type of line, style of filling (solid, hollow, striped pattern, etc.) and color. You can also enter and even copy and paste these features to other resources through the tables of the Menu/ View/ Tables/ Resources/ Resource sheet. Note.- The user may have created templates without activities but with resources configured with a specific format. Planer Et identify same resources by the Name of the resources field. 22 You can set the Scale of the edges of the diagram are shown to preview. Include if you want to image files of logos and other titles in the definition of the Header and Footer. Design your custom Box to include at the bottom of the paper if you have selected previously to include this option in the tab Page of this form. Save a baseline Menu / Tools / Baseline For those projects that are going to make a tracking of the implementation, you can create a baseline before updating the data of the new period through the Menu/ Tools / Baseline, in order to compare the variation of dates and duration between the current plan and the baseline in the Variation tab of the activity, either on the corresponding table. 27 When performing the project tracking, can be represented in the diagram the past period by entering the Status date or update in Menu / Project / Project information. 28 From the Tracking tab of the form of the activity you want to update, enter the Actual quantity to origin, the Actual start and the Actual finish if the activity is complete, and the Actual quantity to origin until the status date and the Actual start if you have not completed. 30 17. Reschedule the delayed work Menu / Tools / reschedule delayed work. 31 To print the Time - Location diagram, click the button Print or Preview from the screen Time-Location, then press again print which is shown in the bottom of the preview window and choose the Device of printing, the Paper size and the number of Copies. You can also save the printout to a file with different formats by pressing the button at the bottom of the screen in the preview. The zoom bar of the preview allows you to scale the image before printing. In versions of Planer Et evaluation is not possible to print or save to file the printed output. If a file is created with an evaluation version of Planer Et cannot print, even when opening with a registered version. In this case, if desired, please contact EPM CONSULTANTS and support services. The formats of temporal or distance scale will come automatically given in the language applied in the user's operating system, regardless of language Et Planer. 33 Double clicking on the activity name in the outline shows the form of economic data. Enter if you like the Price of sale and the Price of cost at the level of the Remaining of the activity, even of a summary task by selecting in the bottom of the form Summary activity data, rather than Totalize sublevels option. If you want to change the percentage monthly linear distribution or the amount calculated by Planer Et for the activity, you can override these values for each of the months displayed in the form, columns of O.E.B. 35 To choose the Economic concepts that can be included at the bottom of Gantt, select Menu / Format / Economic view. Check Month and / or Accu to the field you want displayed and the order in which you want to appear on the screen / report. You can also insert formulas that relate other concepts, through the Calculated tab of the same form. If you print the Gantt, previously choose the activities you want to include marking the square of the outline of the project displayed in the left side of the window of Economic Planning. To set the Header or the Footer of the report chooses Menu / Format / Gantt chart. Finally select Menu / File / Print or Preview, which is display the image of printing, before asking the paper size you want to print. Finally click the Button to print from the preview.
