1 Details on the new features, enhancements, and problem fixes of a software release October 17, 2014 These Release Notes announce the distribution of release 7.1, Beta Update 3, which includes enhancements and problem fixes since 7.1 Beta Update 2. Important Note: After every suresmile update, we recommend clearing your browser cache to remove any remnants of the old version to optimize software performance. The steps to follow depend on the browser you are using, and are linked here for your convenience: Steps for Mozilla Firefox Steps for Apple Safari Steps for Google Chrome Enhancements Based on your feedback, and on our continuing efforts to improve suresmile s performance and ease of use, we have made the following enhancements. Case Types Case Types: Wording Simplified During Wave 1 and Wave 2, we found that the users were confused by the phrase purchase case bundle. As a result, we changed the wording to select a case type. We changed purchase to select because you do not actually purchase a case until you order your first model, but you select a case type at the beginning of suresmile treatment. We changed case bundle to case type because case bundle implies a bundle of cases while case type more correctly implies a single kind of case with specific products associated with it. 2 Same changes in suresmile New list and Patient Profile: Removed "Purchase Bundle ($)" from New menu after the patient has a bundle Customers questioned why "Purchase Bundle ($)" (now Select Case Type ) was still displayed on the New menu after a customer selected a bundle. As shown above, Select Case Type (formerly known as Purchase Bundle ) is now only listed on the New menu if you have not yet selected a case type for the patient. None Case Type Now Offered If you selected a case type but have not yet ordered a product, you can go the Edit Profile page and select a new None option if you want to just order a la carte products for the patient. 3 For aligner cases Treatment Start date used instead of Bond Date When you choose an aligner case type the treatment timeline now shows a Treatment Start field instead of Bond Date. in the patient profile page is changed to the Treatment Start field. The treatment timeline as changes, as shown: When you create a new patient and select the Aligner case type, you are returned to the New Patient window, and the default Bond Date field is replaced with the Treatment Start field.as shown. If no date entered or if patient is imported from a third party patient management system (i.e. Dolphin, etc.) then a date 28 days from today s date is automatically generated and displayed in the Treatment Start field on the New Patient page and on the Treatment Timeline. 4 Setup Workflow Tool Setup Workflow Tool Improved To better support your workflow, the Setup Workflow tool has been updated. Since the lower jaw is most commonly used as the reference jaw, it is listed first. Sequence numbers have also been added to the steps. Setup Workflow Tool Target Corridor heading renamed to "Amt. to Target" and All labels removed The headers and rows have been changed as shown to enhance ease of use. 5 Staged Models Copy of simulation now always generated by default when making staged models When designing staged models, if the user adjusts the original target either by designating some teeth as fixed or by restricting certain tooth movements, the target for the generation of these stages is different than the target the user started with. In order to keep the original target simulation unaltered, users requested that we generate a copy of the target simulation when creating staged models, so they can always refer back to the original target. Nevertheless as some users will want to include the unaltered target as the final stage, we have included a check box option Include original target model. This option is unchecked and unavailable by default. It is only activated if you select fixed teeth or choose to limit one or more movements. 6 Status message displayed when creating staged model sequences As it can take quite long when creating a Staged Model sequence for a setup or simulation with more than 10 stages, a status message now appears with two options: Wait" or cancel "Cancel". Currently selected model stage now shown on the order tab The complete stage name, e.g. "Staged Models 1 [5]", is placed above the patient ID on the order tab in order to provide you a reminder that you are looking at a stage and not the target model. 7 Ability to edit the preferences for Staging Limits The Staging Limits defaults are now editable fields for the minimum and maximum values. Comparison model now applied to all stages for staged models The selection in the comparison field is now applied for all stages instead of only the selected stage. 8 Wire Sequence Orders Prefix wires with WS# rather than WireSeq# Doctors noted that the extra prefix added to the front of wire names ordered in a sequence took up too much space on the wire box. In response, we changed the prefix to the shorter "WS#." This still lets you know the wire is part of a wire sequence order. Jigs 1 point bracket contact tool duplicated on Jig Tools menu For better ease of use when working on jigs, the Pre-bonded bracket 1pt contact icon has been copied and placed on the Jig Tools menu palette. Full Contact (3 Point) bracket placement navigation capabilities added Per customer feedback, "Full Contact" (3 Point) bracket placement and navigation has been added in addition to the Minimal Contact (1 Point) capabilities. Prebonded brackets now shown immediately In an enhancement intended to make prebonded bracket simulations easier to perform, the prebonded brackets are now immediately shown after you apply a bracket set. 9 Approving models process now more consistent In the previous version of suresmile there was an inconsistency in the user interface for different products. When you approved a therapeutic model there is an option (radio button) for choosing to do a setup next. However when you approved a setup the option for choosing to do the wire next was represented by a check box. This has been corrected. Now both options are represented by radio buttons. Scans Premium warning message for next segments The message that the number of teeth you have selected for a supplemental exceeds the limit and will result in a Premium fee was only displayed for the selected segment. Now the message remains displayed once the limit is exceeded, even if you switch to another segment. Bracket filter added to suresmile You are now able in suresmile to apply a bracket set to a specific arch just as in surescan. DOC Call OraMetrix Customer Care toll free at Page 9 of 16

10 Links in surescan added to launch suresmile We ve added a new permanent toolbar icon to the right side of the "home" icon in surescan. Clicking this Globe icon takes you directly to the patient s overview page in the web-based version of suresmile. If you have not yet selected a case type for the patient, a link to the suresmile Edit Profile page appears on the surescan scan overview page as shown below. Important: These links will not work with Microsoft Internet Explorer. You must have Chrome, Firefox, or Safari set as your default internet browser. The following browsers are supported: Chrome, Firefox, and Safari* (on Mac OS X). *Search for Safari on Apple downloads page. Occasionally the gingiva-morphing for CBCT derived therapeutic models did not work correctly Dental Exam Main dental exam not updated after customer hold released If you received a Dental Exam Incomplete Provide Information task for a patient, and then updated the product dental exam to release the customer hold, the changes were not transferred to the main dental exam Displacements Tab Selecting a tooth in 3D viewer does not highlight corresponding tooth cell This has been corrected. After releasing the customer hold, the main dental exam is now immediately updated on the patient overview page. If you selecting a tooth in the 3D viewer, the corresponding tooth cell was not highlighted in the Displacements tab tooth table. We have fixed this. 12 ID Affected Area Headline Explanation Displacements Tab Staged Model Displacements: Minor deviations from constraints highlighted in yellow On the Displacement tab, for each staged model, deviations from constraints below 0.1 millimeter or below 1 degree were marked as yellow. Many of you reported that this was confusing. We have corrected this by not showing deviations less than 0.1 millimeter or 1 degree Displacements Tab Displacement calculation for moved teeth incorrect When you applied Global Movements on the Upper Jaw, by unchecking the Malocclusion includes check box and then applying mesiodistal movement, a lingual movement was applied. We have corrected this error Global Registration tab Use Common Rotation Axis and Use Condyle Axis options conflict When you made movements to the lower arch with the Use Common Rotation Axis option, you could not make movements to the same arch with the Use Condyle Axis option. The same problem occurred if you first tried to use the Condyle Axis option and then the Common Rotation Axis option. Now you can use either option in any order Image Export Saved image from 3D viewer includes navigation circle When right-clicking on an image in the 3D viewer and selecting Save Image As or Copy Image, the navigation wheel (circle) was saved in the image too Lingual Firefox issue: Lingual prebonded bracket set not auto applied on lingual side When you were using the Firefox browser, the lingual prebonded bracket set was not autoapplied on the lingual side. We have fixed this Product Management Incorrect warning displayed when accepting a therapeutic model Occasionally when you accepted a therapeutic model, an incorrect warning was displayed stating that the wire could not be produced. The Submit Product button is now always active after a product rejection Product Notes Product notes cut off at bottom of the checklists The product notes were partially obscured at the bottom of the model review checklists when you switched to a tab that took up more vertical space. We have corrected this, now you can use the scroll bar on the right of the checklist to scroll down and see all of the product notes Product Notes Global registration rotational values in product notes were incorrect The entries for the values with the Use Common Rotation axis checked and the values with it unchecked were the same in Product Notes. This was incorrect and we have fixed this problem Product Notes Release of customer hold not tracked in Product Notes Product Notes Product notes filter not working correctly Releasing a customer hold was not tracked in the Standard Notes filter. It was only shown if you viewed all notes. We have fixed this. When you change the product notes filter to show a specific product (for example, a Therapeutic Model 2), product notes for other products could be shown Product Notes Product notes for setups include an incorrect snippet of text Product notes for setups contained the following automatically generated snippet of text: "Ora scan data taken at '???'. This was incorrect. We have fixed this for new product notes. Please ignore this text in existing product notes as neither we (nor you) can edit previously written product notes. You had to manually enter the buildup values to get buildups Search Quick search pulls up too many patients with two-letter searches Search Search error when two characters entered and second one is a backslash Staged Models Staged models: fixed teeth are not always marked as fixed We have adjusted this by refining the search parameters for quick searches. Now only HRID and initials fields will be searched, if just two characters are entered as the search string. Our search engine refused to search for items having a closing backslash. When you copied a treatment simulation and tried to create a staged model sequence with fixed teeth, occasionally not all of the fixed teeth were marked as fixed Staged Models Remove incorrect wording in Constraints for Staged Models dialog box In the Constraints for Staged Models dialog box, the Automatically Create Sequence of Staged Retainer option has been changed to Automatically Create Sequence Supplemental Scans Surgical Treatment Planning New Supplemental Scan Segment Tooth Cross Does not Match Dental Exam Pre-surgery Progress model incorrectly allows creation of another pre-surgical wire Occasionally in surescan, when you created a supplemental scan the tooth cross was not synchronized with the parent Dental Exam in surescan. When you created a pre-surgery progress model, the software incorrectly allowed you to create a pre-surgical wire. This was incorrect, since only compensation wires should be derived from a progress model, and compensation wire has no use in this scenario. Therapeutic model disoriented when Smile photo is switched off Wire sequence insertion by weeks later lost after order 19 x 25 missing in wire sequences You were unable to create a second presurgery setup after a full Therapeutic. This has been corrected. Now you can order either a new surgery sequence or a regular setup based on a new full scan after surgery. When you changed a Setup name from regular setup to a Postsurgery setup, the name was not updated without having to performing a manual refresh. This has been corrected. When using the Therapeutic Model Review Checklist, when you selected the Facial Smile step and turned off the smile photo, the model titled downward. We have fixed this. When you create a wire sequence and then manually set the future wire insertion dates these dates were overwritten when you ordered the wire sequence. This has been corrected. Now your dates are saved. The 19 x.25 wire cross section was missing when creating a wire sequence Wire Tab Unable to enter wire values starting with a period When you tried to enter wire values starting with a decimal, e.g..5 mm, these values were not converted to 0.x., but instead were removed We have fixed this issue. You can now enter decimals starting with the decimal point Wire Tab Multi-cell edit Selection control on Wire Tab not working The multi-cell edit spin control in the wire order Wire tab was not working. We have corrected this problem Wires Create wire order tasks displaying before setup is approved Wires Firefox Issue- New Wire Order does not open as expected Create wire order wire reminder tasks were incorrectly displaying in the task list of the clinic overview. The software now waits to show the create wire order until after the setup has been approved. When you used Firefox as your internet browser, and you clicked the New Wire Option in the Progress Evaluation Guide, the wire order failed to open as expected. We have fixed this problem.
