1 Details on the new features, enhancements, and problem fixes of a software release November 22, 2013 These Release Notes announce the distribution of release 7.0, Beta Update 7, which includes enhancements, problem fixes, known issues and workarounds since 7.0 Beta Update 6. Based on your feedback, and on our continuing efforts to improve suresmile s performance and ease of use, we made more than 20 significant enhancements as listed below. Enhancements surescan surescan patient details restored Based on your feedback, we have added the ability to view patient details in surescan. If you click a patient on the Patients tab, patient details are now shown. This ease-of-use feature allows you to view patient details chairside. It also includes a privacy option: if you clear the Show Details check box, you can hide the patient s details, including their photograph. DOC Call OraMetrix Customer Care toll free at Page 1 of 16

2 Treatment Favorites Palette opens by default Customer feedback on our new Favorites Palette, where you can display those icons you most frequently use, has been overwhelmingly positive. As a result, we ve created a preference option that automatically opens the Favorites Palette when you are in the treatment workspace. On the Preferences page, under the Appearance tab, there is a new Show Favorite Tools drop-down list. If you select: Yes - the Favorites Palette opens automatically when the treatment planning workspace is open. No - you have to click the Open Favs Palette button to display your favorite icons Treatment Reordering of icons in Favorites Palette now possible In suresmile 6.0, you could change the order of the toolbar buttons in the treatment planning workspace. Based on your feedback, we ve enhanced the suresmile 7.0 Favorites Palette in a similar way. Now you can drag and drop the icons to rearrange them to best suit your working style. 3 27291 Exporting 3D export for multiple files added This significant laborsaving enhancement allows you to export all of the many files associated with a 3D model at once, instead of having to export each file one at a time. This was a feature previously available in suresmile 6.0. It is now fully functional in suresmile 7.0 as well. You can now export 3D models, setups, simulations and wires. To use, select Export 3D from the Exports menu on the patient overview page to open the Export 3D Models dialog box. Click the check box under the model you want to export. Select or clear the check boxes for additional model objects as needed. Select the appropriate file format. Click Export to create a zip file containing all of the files. suresmile downloads the zip file to a temporary directory on your computer. Move or save the zip file to a more appropriate location. 4 27372 Practice Overview Easier access to patient notes In this ease-of-use enhancement, you now have convenient, consistent access to patient notes from anywhere in suresmile. Access all notes associated to a patient with a single click of the notepad icon on the patient task card. Only the notes are displayed. The timeline is not displayed as previously. (Click the eye icon on the task card to display the timeline.) This means that the tasks cards open more quickly. The notepad icon has also been added to the treatment planning workspace above the upper side image as shown. DOC Call OraMetrix Customer Care toll free at Page 4 of 16

5 27264 Records management Multi-image uploading now passible You can now upload images in a batch rather than individually by multi-selecting as shown. To update a group of photos or x-rays at once, click the Upload Files button for the image set. Select multiple image files as shown and click Open. Images flow into the Untyped Images area below the montage. Drag and drop the image into their correct position in the montage. DOC Call OraMetrix Customer Care toll free at Page 5 of 16

6 27118 Task Management New Missing Records banner If a patient has missing records and there are no customer holds, a banner appears across the top of the patient overview page as shown. A list of which records are missing is shown on the right side of the page. The suresmile version of the missing prerequisites (missing records) is similar to that of surescan. Items evaluated are: Brackets Photos X-Rays Prerequisites concerning photos and x-rays can be dismissed by checking the 'Done' check box for the item. If all items have been dismissed (and no further bracket item is present), the provide records task is completed and is not displayed again in the tasks overview. A history of these dismissed (deactivated) prerequisites remains, but no banner is displayed on initial display, and the product notes are shown instead of the missing records. The user can uncheck the Done check box for any of the image prerequisites. This causes the provide records task to be displayed once again. 7 27323 Practice Overview Practice/site selector added This is a big enhancement for multi-site practices. A site selection drop-down list has been added to the suresmile bar for multi-site practices Treatment One-click access to Image Selection Click the practice name on the suresmile bar next to the suresmile logo to display a drop-down list of all of your practice sites. If you are a practice with multiple sites, you can now quickly choose to display only the tasks/patients for a particular site. Likewise, if you are a group of several practices, you can choose to display only the patients of a particular practice. Select the top-level (first) item in the list if you wish to display all of the patients of all your practice sites. The first listing always displays all of the patients of all your sites, and the subsequent listings are your different sites. In this ease-of-use enhancement, you can now access new images with a single click. There is a new Open Image Chooser button in the top left corner of the side windows in the treatment planning workspace whenever a photo or x-ray is displayed. Clicking this button opens the Image Selection dialog box. This saves you from having to open the Image menu palette and then clicking the Select Images icon whenever you want to change a photo or x-ray. 8 25714 General/System Browser tabs now labeled To help you more easier navigate in suresmile when you have multiple suresmile pages open, the tabs for each of these pages are now labeled following these general guidelines: Suresmile Home (for initial login page) suresmile Overview (for Clinic Overview page) suresmile Wire Tracking (for wire tracking page) <HR0000ID> Overview (for Patient Overview page) <HR0000ID> Images (for page to view photos/x-rays/dl images) <HR0000ID> <item name> (for a product, simulation, order, dental exam, or model) Software/ Infrastructure suresmile performance improved Based on your feedback, we have applied several performance enhancements to suresmile so that products and models display much faster. 9 27203 Clinic Overview Announcements bar added to clinic overview We ve added a new announcements bar to the top of the clinic overview workspace for all-customer announcements and other news items from OraMetrix. Important announcements for software and bracket library updates, information about upcoming training classes, and other information of specific interest to suresmile users will be delivered to your virtual doorstep the clinic overview page! Once you read the announcement, close the announcements bar by clicking the small x in the top right corner. This announcements bar only reappears when you receive a new announcement Clinic Overview, Wires Wire tracking improved The wire tracking table has been reorganized and streamlined to make it more useful. In an effort to make the table easier to use, wires are now removed from wire tracking as soon as a patient is marked as finished or when a wire is marked as inserted. 10 27367 Patient Overview Task flags visible and editable from patient Overview In another ease-of-use enhancement, you can now edit a patient s task flag without having to go back to the clinic overview and finding the patient s card, The task flag is now displayed on the Patient Overview just to the left of the patient s name as shown. Click the task flag to change its color Treatment Product/model dropdown list added To make it easier for you to navigate with less clicks, you can now select a different product or model from the suresmile bar. When you click the product name, a dropdown list of products is displayed as an alternate way to select and view another product or model Wire Orders Order tab shown by default after wire order submitted As part of our continuing efforts to streamline and make the product ordering workflow consistent, we ve made the following change: When you open the wire order in the wire design workspace after you submit a wire order, the Order tab is selected by default. 11 27121 Treatment Camera navigation controls hidden when you move 3D object As a result of customer feedback we ve made the following ease-of-use enhancement: When you move a 3D object in the main window, the camera navigation controls are hidden. The controls reappear as soon as you release your mouse button Wire Orders Estimated wire insertion date now calculated from wire order date Brackets Bracket Set list now in Alphabetical / Numerical order In the interest of improving the accuracy of the estimated wire insertion dates, suresmile now calculates the estimated wire insertion date for 3 weeks from the date you order the wire instead of from the setup approval date. Relying on the setup approval date would sometimes result in an estimated wire insertion date that was before the wire order date. This new calculation is similar to the approach used for suresmile 6.0, except that we now allot 3 weeks for wire production and delivery to accommodate our international customers. 12 General/Security Duplicate record warning added suresmile s security processes have been enhanced to help prevent the inadvertent creation of duplicate records. Now, before new patients are saved for the first time, suresmile checks to see if a patient record already exists with the same first and last name and birth date. If a duplicate record exists, then suresmile displays a warning with the option to cancel the creation of that patient record surescan Icon label changed from SureSmile 7.0 to surescan Wire Orders Cancel button disabled if Wire in production The shortcut icon to start surescan has been renamed from SureSmile to surescan to clarify that it is for the local application and not for launching suresmile on the internet. Before this update in suresmile 7.0, you could cancel the wire order at any time. This has been corrected. Now the Cancel button works like it did in suresmile 6.0. It is only active if the wire order does not have a status of in production. If the status of the wire order is in production, then the Cancel button is inactive. 13 26886 surescan New shutdown warning Often the completion and transfer of scans to OraMetrix for processing is interrupted or delayed because someone at the practice shuts down a computer in the middle of a transfer. To help prevent this, the following warning is now displayed if someone at your practice tries to shut down a computer while the data is being transferred. After the data is completely transferred to OraMetrix, this warning closes. You can then shut down the computer if you wish. If you wish to shut down your computer while the data is being transferred, click the Exit to Allow Shutdown button. Be advised however, that shutting down your computer while data is still being transferred will result in the incomplete transfer of your scan data and you will have to retransfer the remaining data a later time. 14 Problem Fixes Dental Exam Partially Erupted option is available regardless of tooth state In the suresmile 6.0 dental exam, if you selected any option besides Present for a tooth, the Partially Erupted option was not available. In suresmile 7.0, the Partially Erupted option was available regardless of which tooth option you chose Lingual Treatment Patient Management Reversed lingual brackets movements Task flag sorting not working This has been fixed. It now works the same as in suresmile 6.0 Occasionally, aligning lingual brackets did not work well since the movements were incorrectly reversed. This has been fixed. On the Patients tab, sorting by task flag did not put the flags in order according to color. This has been corrected Patient Overview Timeline history dates update wrong item Occasionally, when you attempted to update the date of an item in the timeline history section, another item was updated instead of the item selected. This has been fixed surescan Obsolete Wire tracking features in surescan Since all wire tracking functionality resides solely in suresmile, it was confusing to users to still have references to wire tracking in the surescan interface Treatment Able to order two plans for same patient simultaneously This has been fixed by removing all references to wire tracking in surescan. It was possible to order two plans on the same patient at the same time. This led to confusion in the Digital Lab regarding how to process the case. This has been fixed. This has been fixed. Occasionally the gingiva was not inherited from a diagnostic model as expected. This has been corrected. In the Upper & Lower Midline, Class: step of the setup review checklist, the roots of the reference model were incorrectly shown. This has been fixed. Under certain circumstances, the colorizing of teeth to show build up/ipr was not working correctly. This has been corrected. When you reviewed a product using a checklist, suresmile did not retain which steps had been completed. This has been fixed. After approving a setup, the default option in the Approve Scan dialog box was not selected. This has been fixed. The default selection is now the Begin Setup Prescription Next option. Tooltips were missing for several icons above the side windows. This has been fixed Wires Prebonded bracket and treatment simulation wires not copied correctly When creating a copy of a prebonded bracket simulation or of a treatment simulation, the wire was not correctly copied. 16 Known Issues with Workarounds Workaround Wire Design suresmile Calc Slot Filling Torques button clickable when designing round wires Currently when you are designing a round wire, the Calc Slot Filling Torques button is clickable and calculates slotfilling torque. This is a software defect, as it does not make sense to calculate slot-filling torque for a round wire. When designing round wires, do not click the Calc Slot Filling Torque button Treatment Build Up/IPR tab not refreshing correctly. Occasionally when the Build Up/IPR tab is refreshed, the values in the table are lost. In addition, the Auto m/d Size and Auto Vertical Buildup checkboxes do not retain their checkmarks after you select them. Type the buildup/ipr values manually into the table.
