1 These release notes announce the distribution of release 7.3 Commercial, which includes enhancements and problem fixes since 7.2 Commercial Update 6.1. Important Note: After every suresmile update, we recommend clearing your browser cache to remove any remnants of the old version to optimize software performance. The steps to follow depend on the browser you are using. Click the links for more information. suresmile Model ordering simplified - We've consolidated model ordering and patient management in suresmile. Now you only need to use surescan for capturing and uploading orascans and uploading CBCT scan data. New automatic IDB bracket check - For Standard w/ IDB case type packages, before you can submit the therapeutic model, suresmile now checks the brackets selected to make sure that all of the brackets are IDB approved. elemetrix User interface simplified - A new, simplified interface leads you step-by-step through the process of selecting IDB, diy aligner staging, full-service aligner staging, and advanced diagnostics package types and setting up new patients. New Advanced Diagnostics package - Our new advanced diagnostic package for elemetrix users provides you a dynamic 3D CAD therapeutic model with 2D/3D linkage with full access to our advanced simulation toolset. These tools enable you to plan smile design, print physical 3D staged models for aligner therapy, design and order our revolutionary IDB trays, or plan treatment options for surgical, restorative or extraction cases. New task reminders - you will see some new task reminders depending on which case package you chose. notifications improved - We ve added several new notifications. Point-of-purchase credit card payment - We have replaced monthly invoicing with point-of-purchase credit card payment, so that we will only bill you when you order a product or package of products. Each time you place an order, the system prompts you to select your payment method. If you have a credit balance, you can deduct the payment from that balance. Active case package shown at top of page - We now display the patient s active case package next to their name in the elemetrix banner at the top of the patient overview page. 2 suresmile and elemetrix MACROS and Prescription forms easier to use - With the guidance of our suresmile Faculty and Clinical Advisory Board, we've updated our MACROS tools and Aligner prescription form. The user interface is now easier to follow. Since navigation is easier, you do not have to click so much. As a result using the MACROS or the Aligner prescription form is much more efficient. Redesigned prescription preferences - We ve redesigned the Prescription preferences to reflect the new MACROS/Prescription form interface. New FA Point tooth feature point added - Now when designing IDB trays using the straight wire simulation method, you have a new tooth feature point the facial axis (FA) point. The system draws vertical and horizontal lines based on the axes to provide a reference for bracket placement. You can fine-tune the position of the lines as needed and the position of the bracket will adjust automatically. New measurement options bracket height sets - When you are adjusting the height of the brackets in a bracket set from the Brackets/Attachments tab you can now toggle between: showing the actual jig height in millimeters or the position of the jig height relative to the FA (Facial Axis) point. The system expresses movements in an occlusal direction relative to the FA point as positive numbers. The system expresses movements in a gingival direction relative to the FA point in negative numbers. IDB trays occlusal rests added for gaps We ve added blank caps or occlusal rests that sit on the non-bonded teeth in the gaps. These rests provide more stability and increase the structural integrity of the tray, resulting in more precise placement and lower rebond rates. Gingival base thickened for staged models with gaps - To help prevent accidental breakage on models with gaps due to missing or unerupted teeth, we ve increased the minimum thickness of the gingival base to about 5 mm. Password reset message clarified - We ve changed the wording on the in-progress message asking users to wait at least 15 minutes before attempting to log back in. Problem Fixes and Known Issue We ve also included a comprehensive list of problems reported and fixed since the last release. Also listed is one known issue with workaround. 3 suresmile Model ordering simplified We've consolidated model ordering and patient management in suresmile. Now you only need to use surescan for capturing and uploading: orascans CBCT scan data (and supplemental STL or orascan data if necessary) As of this 7.3 release, you will only be able to perform the following tasks using suresmile in a browser: uploading photos or x-rays resolving customer holds filling out macros adding or updating patient information The functionality for the above tasks is no longer included in surescan If you use surescan on a dedicated computer or from your chairside scanning stations for the tasks listed above, you'll need one or more additional computers with internet access for these tasks. 6 Ordering Update Models based on CBCT Scans To resubmit an original in vivo CBCT scan (i.e., to update one or more brackets in the scan) you must now do this in suresmile by ordering an update model as follows: Prerequisites: Patient must have an approved therapeutic model with brackets. Model must be based on CBCT scan data. 1. Open the patient in suresmile. 2. Click the New drop-down menu and click Update Model. 3. From the Order page scroll down to the Select your 3D Scan Data files section and click the CBCT Scan button. 4. If the CBCT scan data is still available in the OraMetrix data warehouse you will see a message: This type doesn t require a data upload. Click Confirm CBCT. already archived Upload the original CBCT data using the procedures starting with step 10 in Start with suresmile described above. 7 5. Scroll up to the Dental Examination section and assign or replace brackets as needed. 6. When finished, scroll down to the Submit Order section. Check to make sure all prerequisites are fulfilled, and then click Submit Product to order the update model. New automatic IDB bracket check For Standard w/ IDB case type packages, before you can submit the therapeutic model, suresmile now checks the brackets selected to make sure that all of the brackets are IDB approved. If any brackets are found that are not IDB approved, suresmile marks each non-idb approved bracket with a red exclamation mark, and an error message appears as shown below. 13 Point-of-purchase credit card payment After you have selected a package and are ready to place your order the system prompts you to select your payment method. You can keep credit cards on file for future use. All major credit cards or debit cards are accepted. If you have a credit balance, you can deduct the payment from that balance if you choose. 15 New task reminders As an important part of our work to streamline the elemetrix user interface and workflow, we have eliminated the Order Appliance or Analyze Records task reminder. We did this because with our new workflow you select your case package immediately after adding the patient s info instead of waiting until the Digital Lab returns the finished diagnostic model. As a result, after your model is finished and returned, you will see one of the following task reminders depending on which case package you chose. When you are still working on any orders in a package, if you click the Open Order button, elemetrix takes you to the last workflow step you worked on. Note: Even though you may have set pre-defined defaults for your MACROS or prescriptions under prescription preferences, all buttons appear white when you first begin to order or review a product. See Redesigned Prescription preferences for more information. 26 Redesigned prescription preferences We ve redesigned the Prescription preferences (go to Preferences Prescription) to reflect the new MACROS/Prescription form interface. 27 New FA Point tooth feature point added Now when designing IDB trays using the IDB Tray Simulation, you have a new tooth feature point the facial axis (FA) Point. The system draws vertical and horizontal lines based on the axes to provide a reference for bracket placement. The intersection of the lines is initially set to the FA Point of the tooth. The FA Point is the point on the facial axis that separates the gingival half of the clinical crown from the occlusal half. You can fine-tune the position of the lines as needed and the position of the bracket will adjust automatically if the bracket height set you select is based on FA points instead of bracket heights. For your convenience when you are working on an IDB Tray Simulation, we ve added an icon in the guide tools to toggle the FA Point on or off. Note: If you apply a bracket height set based on FA points, when you open the Bracket Placement tab, instead of seeing only zero in the Occlusal/Gingival row, you may occasionally see some small values instead. These small values each represent a deviation from the absolute value of zero for the FA point. The system creates these deviations as it seeks a secure 3-point contact for each bracket. Slight deviations may be caused if the curvature in the labial surface changes the distance of the bracket from the FA point for the tooth. 28 Similarly, when relying on FA points to place brackets, results may be unsatisfactory if: the FA Point is manually moved from its ideal position, or the tooth surface is not smooth. How to use the FA Points Here is a typical use case for using this new feature during an IDB tray simulation 1. Go to the Confirm Bracket Placement step in the IDB checklist. 2. Click the Guide Tools menu and click the FA System tool to display the FA Points on the teeth in the 3D window. 3. In the 3D window, click and drag the FA points/orientation lines as needed. After you move the FA point, the bracket automatically snaps to the new FA point position. 4. 31 IDB trays occlusal rests added for gaps We ve added blank tooth caps or occlusal rests that sit on the non-bonded teeth in the gaps. These rests provide more stability and increase the structural integrity of the tray. This results in more precise placement and lower rebond rates. Add the occlusal rests as needed when you are generating each tray. When the IDB Tray Segments dialog box opens, click the unbonded or excluded teeth for which you want to add occlusal rests. Click each tooth repeatedly until the tooth displays the appropriate symbol code to indicate an occlusal rest. Expand the legend at the bottom of the dialog box to help you until you become familiar with the symbols. DOC Call OraMetrix Customer Care toll free at Page 31 of 36

32 New 5 mm minimum gingival base staged models with gaps To help prevent accidental breakage on models with gaps due to missing or unerupted teeth, we ve increased the minimum thickness of the gingival base to about 5 mm. Password reset message clarified When you reset your password, the process takes about 15 minutes. However most users assume it is instantaneous, and as a result, they typically try resetting their password repeatedly when they do not get a result. Occasionally this causes the system to lock the user out of their account due to their having exceeded the permissible number of failed attempts. As a result, we ve changed the wording on the in-progress message asking users to wait at least 15 minutes before attempting to log back in. Please note that your practice administrator will still need to reassociate your user account back to the practice. If your practice administrator is not available, please contact Customer Care for assistance. A final note: once the practice administrator or customer care reassociates your user account to the practice, it can still take a few minutes before the user information propagates to all servers. 33 Problem Fixes Here is a comprehensive list of problems reported and fixed since the last release. ID Affected Area Headline Explanation Shipments Pagination on Shipments tab pages now works correctly Update Models Bonded Lingually check boxes no longer ignored for Update Model orders When wires were hidden on the shipments tab because they had been marked as unused or inserted, the pagination on the shipping tab was not adjusted correctly. For example, the shipping tab normally shows 15 rows of data. If four wires in the list on the page had been marked as inserted or unused, the page would only show the remaining 11 rows for that page, instead of self-adjusting to show 15 rows of unhidden items. We have corrected this so that 15 rows of data are now always shown unless you are at the bottom of the list of shipments. We had one case where a practice checked the Upper and Lower Jaw Bonded Lingually check boxes for an update model. When they submitted the order for the model, suresmile ignored the check boxes. As a result, suresmile did not place the order. The user had to uncheck and then re-check the check boxes to re-order the model Staged Models Correct gingiva now assigned to Staged Models for surgical cases After a surgical treatment and finishing with aligners, the Staged Models simulation incorrectly used the gingiva from the presurgical setup model instead of from the postsurgical setup model Surgical Treatment Planning When you convert a pre-surgical sim to a post-surgical sim, the correct model is now shown When you converted a pre-surgical sim to a post-surgical sim, because of a wrong checkmark, the Show Pre-surgical check box was automatically checked which caused the system to display an incorrect reference model. The system also omitted the wire crosssection information for the wire set. We have corrected this. The wire cross section and Submitted information are now present in the Product Notes Staged Models Order Staged Models button no longer visible while order is being processed Several practices accidentally ordered the same set of staged models twice by inadvertently clicking the Order Staged Models a second time while the system is still processing the first order. We have fixed this by disabling the Order Staged Models button until the system fully submits the order and sets a status of Ordered. Once the Staged Models have a status of ordered, the Order Staged Models button is once again visible under State Changes on the Order tab Staged Models Modified stages no longer incorrectly shown as printed in the Order Staged Models dialog box If you copied a staged model and then modified the last stage, the system incorrectly indicated on the Order Staged Models dialog box that this last stage had already been printed IDB Tray Simulation Order Trays button now disabled on Order Tab for treatment simulations if IDB trays have not yet been created In the treatment simulation window, when the reference model was a Diagnostic model or an unbonded therapeutic model, the system displayed an Order Trays button on the Order tab even if there were no IDB trays generated. We have now disabled this Order Trays button until the user creates IDB trays IDB Select Bracket Height Sets button hidden for all simulations except for IDB tray straight wire simulations The Select Bracket Height Sets button appeared on the Brackets/Attachments tab for all Treatment Simulations. 35 ID Affected Area Headline Explanation Diagnostic Models Spaces now shown for diagnostic models When you opened a diagnostic model with spaces in it, the system did not show the spaces on the Displacements tab. However, when you created a treatment simulation based on the diagnostic model, the system displayed the spaces per design on the Displacements tab. We have fixed this. Now the system also displays the spaces for the diagnostic model IDB Resubmitted therapeutic models that are part of a Standard w/ IDB Case type now retain correct product type For one case, the Digital Lab rejected the therapeutic model because the bite was not sufficiently open in the CBCT scan. When the practice resubmitted the case back to the Digital Lab the system had changed the product type from a Therapeutic Initial Model w/o Brackets to a Therapeutic Initial Model Patient Management Case Type now cannot be changed for Cancelled Patients A practice was able to change the case type for a patient with a cancelled status.
