What are the requirements for use of the Tensoval Online Portal? For access to the Tensoval Online Portal, you only need to have a computer and internet connection; there is no need to first install any software. The web application has been optimised for newer generation operating systems and web browsers, but also supports the following versions: Supported web browsers: Google Chrome 27, Mozilla Firefox 21, Apple Safari 6.1, Microsoft Internet Explorer 7, and more recent versions of these web browsers Supported operating systems: from Windows XP, from MAC OS X 10.5, Linux In order to upload measuring data from your Tensoval duo control blood pressure monitor, you need to have the blood pressure monitor, the Tensoval USB cable and at least one unoccupied USB 1.1/2.0 type A port on your computer. Measuring data cannot be uploaded to a smartphone or tablet, such as the ipad, but uploaded blood pressure data can also be viewed on a smartphone or tablet (but cannot be stored or printed). Can I add comments to my measuring data? Yes, you can. Just click on the table showing your measuring data and click with your cursor in the column on the right titled "Comment". Now you can enter your comment. Your comment is displayed in the table in the column on the right and in the graph view as well, if you move the mouse over the measuring value in the single value display (rather than the average values display). Can I enter an event (e.g. start of a medication)? You can generally enter event in your life (e.g. start of a medication or diet or exercise programme) as a reference for the measuring values. Just click on the "+" next to the time axis. This opens a popup window into which you can enter the event. You can also change the pre-set date. Once you click on "Save", the event is shown as a triangle on the time axis. Move the mouse over the triangle to display the information about this event. Click on the triangle to edit the event. Can I have the cable repaired? No. If the cable is defective, please contact the Service or the retailer who sold you the device to have the cable replaced. Can I store my data on my computer? Yes, you can do this by saving the PDF document with your blood pressure values. For this purpose, click on the 'Print measuring values' button and select the print format. Then you can save the just generated PDF document to any place on your computer which allows you to archive your data on your PC. Can I use the cable to load other files to the computer (pictures, music, etc.)? The cable is designed exclusively for the up-loading of measuring values from the Tensoval duo control to a computer. It is therefore not feasible to transfer pictures or music with this cable - especially as there is no space for these in the web application. Can I use any normal USB cable? It is not feasible to use any commercial USB cable. The Tensoval USB cable has a specific processor that optimises the transfer of data from your Tensoval Duo Control blood pressure monitor specifically for your blood pressure measuring values and protects your data. Can I use the USB cable to recharge the batteries of the blood pressure monitor? No. The Tensoval USB cable is not a recharger cable. It is designed for uploading blood pressure measuring values from your Tensoval Duo Control blood pressure monitor to the web application. Please use the corresponding power supply to recharge the batteries of the Tensoval duo control blood pressure monitor. Can the cable get damaged if it drops on the floor? Usually, the cable should still be functional if it drops off a table. If there is any obvious damage visible on the cable, you should not use the cable for your own safety. Can the cable heal my high blood pressure?

The cable allows you to transfer your blood pressure data from your Tensoval duo control blood pressure monitor to the web application to aid you in monitoring your blood pressure better and to get a handle on your blood pressure with the help of your doctor - but it is no replacement for medications or professional help of a doctor, it cannot make any diagnoses and it does not promise to improve or heal your blood pressure. Can other people use my cable? Other people or your relatives can also use the cable. But the online blood pressure profile on the Tensoval web portal should be personalised, i.e. specifically for one person each. Only then accurate blood pressure monitoring is possible. Can the cable short-circuit? Unless the cable is exposed to some major force, short-circuiting is very unlikely. However, if the cable gets unusually hot or if there is a break in the cable, please do not use the cable any longer for your own safety. Is the cable water-proof? The cable is not water-proof. Never expose the USB cable to moisture or liquids! Do I need to have internet connection to be able to use the application? Since the Tensoval web application is an online portal (i.e. an application on an internet page), and no software is loaded onto the computer, connection to the internet is required for use of the application. Do my measuring data get lost when the batteries of my blood pressure monitor are spent? Even when the batteries of your blood pressure monitor are empty and the device switches itself off unexpectedly, the measuring data are still present in the memory of the device. For more information, please refer to the Instructions for Use of the Tensoval duo control. You are even safer if you upload your measuring data to the web application - in case the device suffers a defect or if the old values are over-written by new values (this happens after 60 new values). What happens if the batteries run empty while the blood pressure monitor is connected to the computer? A connection to the computer can be established only if the blood pressure monitor is supplied with electrical power (batteries or mains cable). The display of the blood pressure monitor will not show "PC" and the computer will not recognise that a blood pressure monitor is connected to it. Do I need the Tensoval cable or can I operate the web application manually as well? The Tensoval USB cable enables the transfer of your measuring values from your Tensoval duo control blood pressure monitor. This means that it makes the collection and analysis of many blood pressure values easier. Individual measuring values can also be added manually. To do this, go to the table showing the measuring values and click on the top left in the table of values on the "Add measuring values" button. In the popup window shown, you can manually enter date, time of day, systolic and diastolic value, and your heart rate. Click on "Save" to add the values you just entered to the existing blood pressure values. Do I need to have a battery for the cable? No, the cable is supplied with electrical power by the computer once it is plugged in. It is necessary, though, to supply electrical power to the blood pressure monitor (batteries or mains cable). Do I need to install any software on my computer? The Tensoval web application is an online portal, i.e. an application on an internet page. Since the portal can be called up with any of the supported web browsers, there is no need to install any software. Supported web browser: Google Chrome 27, Mozilla Firefox 21, Apple Safari 6.1, Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 and more recent versions of these web browsers

Do I need a special computer? The Tensoval web application and the Tensoval cable work with all types of computers with at least one unoccupied USB 1.1/2.0 type A port provided the operating system and the browser version are supported by the application. We recommend updating the web browser to the latest version to allow the measuring data to be displayed optimally. Supported web browser: Google Chrome 27, Mozilla Firefox 21, Apple Safari 6.1, Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 and more recent versions of these web browsers Supported operating systems: from Windows XP, from MAC OS X 10.5, Linux Does the cable also work with game consoles, such as Xbox or Playstation? No. The Tensoval USB cable works exclusively on computers with at least one unoccupied USB 1.1/2.0 type A port. Supported web browser: Google Chrome 27, Mozilla Firefox 21, Apple Safari 6.1, Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 and more recent versions of these web browsers Supported operating systems: from Windows XP, from MAC OS X 10.5, Linux Does the cable also work with my ipad? It is not possible to transfer measuring values from the Tensoval duo control to an ipad. But you can access your online blood pressure profile with the ipad if you are connected to the internet: All functions of the Tensoval Online Portal are available as usual with the exception of the import of measuring data and generation of PDFs for printing. Does the web application work with my smartphone? It is not possible to transfer measuring values from the Tensoval duo control to a smartphone. Please note that the application is not optimised for display on smartphones. But you can access your online blood pressure profile with a smartphone if you are connected to the internet: All functions of the Tensoval Online Portal are available as usual with the exception of the import of measuring data and the generation of PDFs for printing. Are my data saved/stored on the cable? Your data are transferred in encoded form from your Tensoval duo control to the computer and are not saved on the Tensoval cable. How do my data get to my doctor? Use the "Print measuring values" button to generate a PDF file of your measuring data. You can select from three formats: The blood pressure passport (= display of the measuring values of the past seven days as recommended by the European Society for Hypertension (ESH)), display of a certain time interval in a table or the graph view. Then, you either print out your PDF file and take the paper version with you on your next doctor's visit or you save the PDF file to your computer and send it directly to your doctor as an attachment. I bought a cable and a cuff - what now? You just need to get the Tensoval duo control blood pressure monitor, which is available in basically any pharmacy. The USB cable only transfers measuring values from the Tensoval duo control to the online portal. For more information about the Tensoval duo control, please visit our website: I cannot upload my data - what now? Let our friendly assistant help you. You can activate the help function in your personal settings. Click on the option, "Help with uploading of measuring values" in the speech balloon of our assistant and carefully read the steps of the instructions. Then import your measuring data again exactly as instructed.

If you still have trouble uploading your measuring data, please contact our Tensoval support directly ( or at the address shown in the Instructions for Use of the blood pressure monitor or cable). I forgot my password - what now? Right below the place where you enter your password, there is a button, "Forgot your password?". After you click on the button, an will be sent to your personal account. This includes a link transferring you to a new internet page. You can enter a new password on this page. Afterwards, you can now sign in as usual with your new password. I forgot to measure my blood pressure for several days. Can I upload my old data regardless? You can upload older measuring data at any time as long as the data is still present in the memory of the blood pressure monitor. This data is then inserted in the table or graph view in the web application at the corresponding date. If a measurement is already present for a certain date and time of day, the measurement is not displayed twice. Please note that regular blood pressure monitoring is essential to control your hypertension and you might want to make sure not to miss your measuring times. I deleted my measurements. Can I upload the data again? Can I restore the data? Measurements deleted from the monitor are permanently lost unless you uploaded the data already. If you delete measurements from the table of measuring values in the web application, you can upload them again from your Tensoval duo control using the Tensoval USB cable - as long as you have not deleted the memory of your blood pressure monitor and provided the measuring values have not been over-written - which happens after 60 new values. You might be able to enter the lost measuring values manually. To do this, go to the table showing the measuring values and click on the top left in the table of values on the "Add measuring values" button. In the popup shown, you can manually enter date, time of day, systolic and diastolic value, and your heart rate. I lost my cable. Do I still have access to my data? Even if you lose your Tensoval USB cable, you can still use the Tensoval Online Portal with your access data. A new cable is available in your pharmacy. Is the web application compatible with other blood pressure monitors? The Tensoval USB cable only transfers measuring values from the Tensoval duo control to the online portal and is not compatible with other blood pressure monitors. For more information about the Tensoval duo control, please visit our website: Are my data safe? We apply safety systems that meet the latest standards to provide optimal protection of your data. Who can view my blood pressure data? Only you can view your blood pressure data. No other people or employees of Paul Hartmann AG can view your blood pressure data or your profile in the web application. Who can view my personal data? Your personal data (name, address, password, sex, year of birth, country) are stored on a server. This is required to make sure that only you can access your personal profile, and no one else. And it lets us help you if something does not work. Accordingly, theoretically on the administrator of the web application can view your personal data, but not your blood pressure data. If you agree, we will send information to you on the latest news from our company and blood pressure topics. Who can access and view my personal profile? Only somebody knowing the password of your account has access to your personal profile and your measuring data. Therefore, please tell only people you trust your password and keep passwords you write down in a safe place. Do I have to complete the self-test at registration?

No. Answering the three questions during the self-test is voluntary. Click on "Cancel" to get to your profile directly without answering the questions. The self-test helps us improve the web application to suit your interests and to furnish you with information and functions supporting you in the management of your blood pressure. How much data can the web application store? The Tensoval web application can store any number of measuring values. My blood pressure monitor is broken. Can I use the same cable with a new monitor? You can use the Tensoval USB cable with any Tensoval duo control blood pressure monitor. Data stored in the web application are kept. Regrettably, data on the defective blood pressure monitor that has not yet been uploaded to the web application is lost. But you can enter the data manually in the web application, if you wrote it down or remember it. How do I set the time of my Tensoval duo control properly? Every time you insert batteries in the monitor, for the first time or for replacement, the monitor automatically switches to the date/time function. You can also re-set the date and time by pressing the Start button for 5 seconds while the monitor is switched off. Press Memory button 1 (+1) or Memory button 2 (-1) to change day, month, year, hour and minute of the time of day one after the other. Save the entries made by pressing the START/STOP button. The Instructions for Use of your Tensoval duo control blood pressure monitor explain in detail how to set the time. What do I have to do after I generate the PDF file? If you want to print your blood pressure values, select the 'Print' option in your PDF viewer. If you only want to save the PDF file on your computer, select the "Save as" option. The PDF viewer is usually incorporated into your web browser such that a new window is shown your web browser, in which you can see the Print view. This window also includes a Print option and a Save option. Occasionally, an external program may start up to show your Print view. This program also has a Print option and a Save option. I want to print my measuring data, and a document is shown on the screen. What do I do now to print my data? Search your PDF viewer for the "Print" button. Select your printer and print the document as usual. Please note that some colour printers need to have colour printing set first, since the PDF file would otherwise be printed in black and white. What happens when I store the PDF file? The PDF file is stored on your computer in the location you specified. Later on, you can access the document at any time without needing internet connection and you also print it out at any later point in time. What happens if I delete the files in the "Tensoval" drive? You can no longer upload data to the web application. Please unplug the USB cable from your computer and then re-connect it. This restores the requisite information in the "Tensoval" drive Where do I connect the cable? Connect the mini-usb plug of the Tensoval cable to the matching USB port on the Tensoval blood pressure monitor and connect the cable to the USB port of your computer. Where do I get the software? There is no need to install a (driver) software. Since the Tensoval web application is an online portal (i.e. an application on an internet page), only a connection to the internet is required to be able to use the application. Are incorrect measurements also shown in the web application? Incorrect measurements (indicated by "Err" in the display of the blood pressure monitor) are not saved in the blood pressure monitor and are not included in the web application and are therefore not shown in

the table or graph view. Only values that you see in the blood pressure monitor are transferred to the web application. Are my measuring values deleted from the blood pressure monitor after uploading? No. Generally, no data on the blood pressure monitor are deleted by the cable or the web application. If you delete values on your blood pressure monitor by hand, you also need to manually delete these values in the web application if you uploaded these incorrect values already. Why is the comment I entered into the blood pressure table not displayed below the graph view as a blue triangle on the time axis? There is a basic difference between "Comment" and "Event". A "Comment" always refers directly to a certain individual blood pressure value and is therefore entered in the table at the corresponding SYS/DIA value. An "Event", though, is a rather general comment that relates only to a certain calendar day, rather than a specific blood pressure value. Only 1 "Event" can be entered per day. You can retrieve or view the "Comment" by moving the mouse over the corresponding blood pressure value in the graph view as this opens an additional window displaying all information for the corresponding blood pressure value. Is it possible to download the Tensoval cardio control online software for the Tensoval duo control? This software is a web-based software exclusively. This is the reason why it is called a web application. Downloading the software to your own PC or notebook is therefore neither possible nor required. This ensures that you get to benefit from all advantages of an online web application that is always up-todate. Where in the graph view or table do I find the 7-day averages and/or morning/evening averages displayed by the Tensoval duo control blood pressure monitor? During the upload (i.e. data transfer) of the blood pressure data from the Tensoval duo control to the web application, only the blood pressure data of the individual measurements are transferred. The various averages displayed by the Tensoval duo control (morning/evening/7-day and total average) are calculated only in the blood pressure monitor. The web application calculates and displays the various averages independent of the monitor. Where does the web application display the various averages that are also calculated and displayed by the Tensoval duo control? The Tensoval duo control blood pressure monitor calculates various averages from the stored individual blood pressure data. These include: 7-day morning average of the previous seven calendar days; 7-day evening average of the previous seven calendar days; total average of all values stored in the monitor. The web application does not yet distinguish between morning and evening values. To retrieve the values from the previous 7 calendar days, select the "Blood pressure passport" option under "PDF/Print measuring values". The web application provides you with a variety of options in terms of averages: e.g. daily average, weekly average, monthly average. Why does the graph view show nothing or only two data points after data import? Possible causes: - The standard graph view is pre-set to "week" by default & the most recent measurement is from Monday or the first measurement is from Sunday - An error occurred during data transfer - Data from only one measurement are present and/or were imported Possible solutions: - Zoom-out and/or switch to "monthly display". If more than one set of data is present, the individual points are linked into a curve/plot - Repeat the data transfer process - Perform several measurements and import the data only after you did this. Why does the graph view not show any heart rate data?

Possible causes: - The default and/or the standard display shows only blood pressure (SYS, DIA) for clarity. Possible solutions: - Heart rate values can be displayed above the diagram view using a control box (SYS and DIA values can be faded in and faded out individually) How can I add individual blood pressure values in the graph view? It is not possible to add or delete individual blood pressure values in the graph view. Individual values can be added or deleted only in the table view. Switch to table view by clicking on the corresponding button. Can I upload measuring data from different memories (M1 and/or M2) of the Tensoval duo control monitor? Yes. But these should all be from the same person. If several people use the Tensoval duo control monitor, please create a separate user account for each user. The web application does not indicate whether the blood pressure data are from memory M1 or M2 of the Tensoval duo control. During the uploading process, you have the opportunity to select if you want to import the values from M1 or M2, but the memory location information is no longer available in the web application after uploading. I inadvertently uploaded data from the wrong memory location. What can I do? Use the delete function to undo the previous data import. Please always check after each data import whether or not you imported from the correct memory (1 or 2). Is it possible to delete all data at once? For safety reasons, it is not possible to delete all data at once. Only the most recent import or individual data can be deleted by hand. Can both memories (several people, e.g. a married couple) be displayed through one account? No, it is necessary to create/register a separate account for each user. This serves to improve the clarity of the views and helps to avoid getting the data mixed up. Furthermore, this ensures that all of the personal blood pressure data is accessible only to the user who produced the data. Why does the table view not show all blood pressure measurements? Possible causes: - The range of dates is pre-selected too narrow or is outside of the date of the blood pressure recordings. - An error occurred during data transfer and/or import. No or insufficient data were imported Possible solutions: - Increase or change the range of dates ("from - to") of the displayed range. - Repeat data import Is it possible to change data after the import is completed (for example in order to rectify incorrect measurements)? There is no direct way of doing this. But you can delete individual data in the table view after import and subsequently add them again by hand. Note: It is not feasible to add values for the same point in time as this will display an error message (no over-writing function). Please delete the data for the respective point in time first.
