2 Creating a plan 1.) Once logged into DegreeWorks, click the Plans tab. 2.) Then click the New Plan button. 3.) Click the Blank Plan button on the Create Plan message box. 4.) Enter a memorable description in the Description Box. You will now be able to add requirements to the plan as well as save the plan. P a g e 3 Registrar s Office Revised 6/20/16

3 Adding Terms 1.) In order to add requirements to the plan, you will need to add a term. To add a term, click the + button in the upper right of the page. 2.) Select the desired term from the Add Term list. 3.) The term will be created within the plan. To add more terms, keep selecting the + button and selecting the next term until you have all the terms you wish to enter. 4 Adding requirements to the plan There are several different options for adding requirements to a term. The Choice Requirement allows you to specify a list of courses you can choose from to fulfill the requirement. 1.) Within the term block, click the + button to the right of the page. 2.) Select Choice from the Add Requirement list. The Choice requirement will be displayed in the term. 3.) Click the ellipse button to begin adding choices. You may either type the course directly in the box or you may use the magnifying class to search for a course. P a g e 5 Registrar s Office Revised 6/20/16

5 4.) When you see the desired course, click it to add it to the list. 5.) If the course has a co-requisite course such as a lecture/lab combination, click on the + button next to the course. Add the co-requisite course just like before. 6.) Now both courses are shown as linked in the course list. P a g e 6 Registrar s Office Revised 6/20/16

6 7.) Click the Add another option button to add another course as a choice or click Done if you are finished adding choice options. The choice requirement will now be displayed on the term. The Course Requirement can be used when you know exactly what course you need to fulfill the requirement. 1.) Within the term block, click the + button to the right of the page. 2.) Select Course from the Add Requirement list. The Course Requirement will be displayed within the term. P a g e 7 Registrar s Office Revised 6/20/16

7 3.) You may either type the course directly in the box or you can use the magnifying class to search for a course. Enter a course or title in the box to begin searching. 4.) When you see the desired course, click it to add it to the list. The course requirement will now be displayed in the term. P a g e 8 Registrar s Office Revised 6/20/16

8 The Placeholder Requirement is used for a broad requirement, which you must complete, but you are not sure which course you will take to complete the requirement. This is most commonly used for General Education Requirements. 1.) Within the term block, click the + button to the right of the page. 2.) Select Placeholder from the Add Requirement list. The Placeholder will be displayed within the term. 3.) Click the Select list to show all possible Placeholder items. Select the desired Placeholder will now be displayed in the term. 9 4.) You will need to enter information in the Value field. This field is a free-form text field. The Test Score Requirement is for those requirement which require you to take a test. 1.) Within the term block, click the + button to the right of the page. 2.) Select Test Score from the Add Requirement list. The Test Score requirement will be displayed within the term. You may also add courses to your plan by selecting them from the list of Still Needed and Courses lists on the right hand side of the plan. The box automatically expands the Still Needed section which are courses still needed from the audit. P a g e 10 Registrar s Office Revised 6/20/16

10 To add courses from the Still Needed section: 1.) Click an arrow next to a block to expand it. Find a course you need to take. Click and drag the desired course into the term you plan to take the course. Release the course when it is over the term. The red X will change to a blue check when it is in the right place. The course requirement will now be displayed in the term. To add courses from the Courses section: 2.) Click on the arrow next to Courses to expand that section. Click an arrow next to a subject to expand it. Find a course you need to take. Click and drag the desired course into the term you plan to take the course. Release the course when it is over the term. The red X will change to a blue check when it is in the right place. The course requirement will now be displayed in the term. 11 Deleting a requirement from a term To delete a requirement from the plan, follow these steps: 1.) Click the requirement within the term. It will now be highlighted in blue. 2.) Click the minus button within the term to delete the requirement. The requirement is now deleted. Locking or activating a plan To lock or activate a plan, follow these steps: 1.) Check the Active box to make the plan active. You can have multiple plans but only one plan may be active at a time. Your active plan is your main plan. 2.) Check the Locked box to lock a plan and prevent any changes. P a g e 12 Registrar s Office Revised 6/20/16

12 Saving a plan To save a plan when you are finished editing it: 1.) Click the Save button in the lower right hand of the page. The save information will be displayed in the lower left hand of the page and will show who last saved the plan and when. Planned courses To see how planned courses will appear in your audit: 1.) Click on the Audit button at the bottom of the page. The audit will appear in another window over the plan. Planned courses will appear in blue. P a g e 13 Registrar s Office Revised 6/20/16
