1 Access Banner 7 via MetroConnect Running a CAPP Report in Banner 7 Login to MetroConnect Select the Employee tab Click on the Banner 7 Prod icon Login to Banner 7 Quick Reference Guide In the Go To: field, enter SMARQCM to access the Compliance Request Management form. In the SOADEST form, designate your printer when you first access SMARQCM. In the Distribution Parameters dialogue box: Click on the down-arrow next to the Compliance: field. Select the printer from the Printer Validation form. Click OK. Click the Exit icon. On the SMARQCM form: 1. Enter the Student ID number in the ID field and Press Ctrl + Page Down or click the Next Block icon, or place the cursor in Evaluation Term field. A message box may appear indicating that compliance was previously run for this student. Click OK. 2. To run a New Compliance, select Record from the Menu Bar and click Insert from the drop-down menu. This clears the form so a new Compliance can be run. The cursor will now be in a blank Evaluation Term field. 3. In the blank Evaluation Term field, enter the current term or terms for which registration is open. Example: indicates Fall (50) term for year Do not fill in any other fields. 4. Select Options from the Menu Bar and click on Compliance Curriculum in the drop-down menu.
2 5. Select Options from the Menu Bar and click on Copy from Student Record on the drop-down menu. This takes you to the General Student Summary (SGASTDQ) form. 6. Double-click in the From Term field on the first record displayed or click on the Select icon.
3 7. The student s curriculum information will automatically be populated from the General Student record into the Compliance Curriculum. 8. If a message box appears telling you a Primary and a Secondary program exists, select Primary Curriculum. This is the student s degree goal. (The Secondary Curriculum is Teacher Licensure information for use by Teacher Education faculty only.) 9. Review Compliance Curriculum information for accuracy. Update the Program, Catalog Term and add Concentration and Minor codes, if needed. Never change a Catalog Term in a Secondary Curriculum. 10. Click on the SAVE icon to save the correct Compliance Curriculum information. 11. Under Options on the Menu bar, click on Request Hardcopy Output. 12. In the Compliance Type field, enter CAPRINT. 13. Click the Print Immediately box to add a checkmark to the box. 14. In Student Address Type field, insert AA (Student s Active Address). 15. Click on the SAVE icon to save this information. 16. Under Options, click Submit for Processing. A message box will be displayed to inform you that compliance is running. Note: Wait for the report to run before continuing. 17. Print the report according to the instructions contained in the Printing a CAPP Report in Banner 7 Quick Reference Guide. 18. If, after printing the report you wish to view the results on-line, select Options from the Menu bar, click on Return to Compliance Request; Click OK on the pup-up message box, then click on Display Compliance Results in the drop-down menu.

5 Printing a CAPP Report in Banner 7 Quick Reference Guide (Revised: 2/14/2006) Run SMARQCM as if requesting Hardcopy Output and wait for the report to finish running. See the Running CAPP Reports in Banner 7 Quick Reference Guide for more information. 1. After running the CAPP Report, Click on the Exit icon in the SMARQCM form. 2. Go to your Desktop and double-click the Print a Saved CAPP Report icon. 3. In the Print dialogue box, ensure the correct printer is selected and that the appropriate number of copies will be printed. Click OK. 4. Collect the report from your printer, making sure that it is for the correct student. (See Troubleshooting, if not. 1
6 Troubleshooting: Symptom Problem Resolution Printout is from a previous student When printing receive Java.io.FileNotFoundException error. It is likely that an error occurred when generating the CAPP in SMARQCM. 1) Did not successfully run a CAPP in SMARQCM. 2) Different user logged into Windows than into Banner. 3) User has a different login ID for Banner than their Windows Login ID. (not common) Run the CAPP again in SMARQCM, watching for any error messages.
