1 LET S PUT OUR CITIES ON THE MAP Create a free website in four steps Step #1: Create an account Sign in to Google and StartLogic to create your free website.* Visit U nder the section labeled More Tools to Help You Succeed Online, click Create a free website with StartLogic. 1

2 Check the box to agree to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policies, then click the red button labeled Sign in with Google. Select a security question for your StartLogic account. Click Ready, set, build! to create your website. 2

3 Step #2: Choose a website design Find a website style that fits your business. Enter contact information as you d like it to appear on the website, and answer some questions about your business. Click Continue. Click Styles in the top navigation to see available templates. 3

4 Choose a template for your website. If you have a company logo or color scheme, look for a complementary design. Click your business name at the top of the web site to edit the header. This appears at the top of every page. You can customize the header by adding an image or logo. It s time to customize your text and images. 4

5 Step #3: Customize, save, and publish Add text and images to your site. Double-click an area to add an image. You can choose an image from your computer, or use free stock photos from the image library. A dd as much information as you d like, using the predefined sections. If you prefer not to add a section, leave it blank. Double-click an area to edit text. Need help? Choose the option Write some text for me, and follow the prompts to generate custom content for your website. 5

6 Create new pages by clicking the drop down menu labeled Pages in the top navigation. Click + Add New Page, and select a page to add. Quick tip: Hover your mouse on a page name in the dropdown menu to see a pencil icon. Click this icon to give each page a unique name and description. Click the Preview & Publish button to review your work.ready to go live? Click the blue Publish button. Great job. Now it s time to register a free domain name. 6

7 Step #4: Choose a domain name ( Already have a domain name? No problem. Contact StartLogic support for help. Need a domain? Prefer a different domain? This website includes a domain name, free for one year. Follow these steps: After clicking Publish, a dialog box appears. Click the button labeled Yes! I want to claim my domain now. Enter the domain name you d like to register, then click Claim your free domain. A list of related, available domains appears below. Choose a domain from the list, or search again. 7

8 Once you select a domain name, enter your contact information and provide a credit card for verification. It will not be charged.* Click Register Now! to complete the registration. You now see optional features, including domain privacy. Go ahead and pat yourself on the back. You created a website and chose a domain name for your business. 8

9 Returning to the website editor On your computer, open an internet browser and visit Click Log In at the top right, and click the button labeled Sign in with Google. Then, enter your Google username and password. Once signed in, click Edit Your Website with Site Expresso from the Control Panel to make updates to your website. 9
