1 The New PC7 Admin Homepagee When you login into the admin panel you see a welcome areaa called dashboard. Dashboard has many sections. On the top bar, it has drop down menus that give you option to perform different options. On the right side of that menu bar, you can find a language dropdown to change your admin panel language. In the middle section, it is divided into three portions. The left section has overview of the website and some most recent eventss like payment made or reviews made waiting for approval. Also below that is a quickk search form. The middle section has some quick links. In the right section, there is a legend of some most common icons used in the system. Below that is some system statistics. In the bottom section, there are charts of most recent activityy on your website. Page 1
2 Understanding Navigation Navigation is made much easier in the version 7. Menu bars and Toolbarss both are visible on each page to help you select the correct task. Menu Bar: The menu bar contains links to all the options available to the admin. Tool Bars: The toolbars are shown just below the menu bar. Every pagee has different options on the toolbar according to actions available on that page. Page 2
3 Using the Manage Interface Admin area is comprised of different options. A simple option like "Manage Packages" has different sub options in it. Like "Addd a Package", "Update a Package", etc. Let s have a look on how these options and sub optionpage showing all packages in the system: are organized: Below, you can see a simple listing The listing shows all the packages already present in the database. You can use the small icons in front of a record to do some action on thatt specific record. Some actions work on a single record (like Edit, View, etc) and some actions also work on multiple records (like Active, Inactive, Delete, etc). Using the small Icons: When you intend to perform action on a record, you can justt click on the action icon in front of that record. Like if you want to set a record to in active, you would click the green icon in front of that record and the record will then be set to in active and the icon will change to a red arrow as shown below: Using the large Icons: Similarly you can perform actions to multiple records by selecting them and clicking the large icon on the toolbar for that action. For e.g., if you want to make all the records to active, you would click the checkbox in the blue header bar to select all records and then click the "Active" icon on the toolbar: Page 3
4 This will set all the records to active. When to use small or large Icons: For the actions that work on a single record (like you can "Edit" only one record at a time), you should ideally click the small icon of that record. But you can click the large icon on the toolbar, in that case, there must at least be one record selected, and if more than one are selected, then the first selected record will be taken for the action. For e.g., in the above screenshot, if you click the Edit button on the toolbar, you will be taken to the edit page of the "30 day free trial for new members" package. Inline Ajax Popup Windows: On most options, Add/ /Edit are performed using inline popupp windows using Ajax technology. This makes your admin panel work like a desktop application. Alsoo the response wait is reduced due to the fact that page refresh for each action is reduced. Apply & Save Buttons: Options like Add and Edit provide you two ways to submit the changes, you can click on Apply to just save the changes and stay on the same page or inline popup window, and you can click Save to do the changes and close the page/popup and go back to the listing. 5 Adding a New Record: To add a new record, just click the Add button on the toolbarr and a form appears on next page or nline popup: The rest is very simple, just fill the form and click Apply or Save. Editing a Record: To edit a record, click its relevant edit icon and a form appears on the next page or inline popup: Page 5
6 Context Help: If contextt help is available on a page, then you will see a helpp icon on the right most area of the toolbar: Clicking on it will take you to a new window with help regarding that page. Page 6
7 Parameters Menu The parameters menu has few sub menus and following options: Merchant Parameters: This sub menu contains the following options: Manage Merchant Packages: To manage the packages selectable for merchants. Manage Merchant Languages: These are languages selectable for merchants to show what languages they support. Manage Merchant Payment Methods: To manage the payment methods that merchants cann select if they support. Manage Merchant Verifiers: Manage verifiers to be selected by merchants as theyy support. 8 General Parameters: This sub menu contains the following options: Manage Preferences: Update the system preferences, payment settings, basic and functionality constants. Manage Currencies: To manage the currencies present in the system. Manage Templates: Update the templates so that s sent to the users are customized. Manage Languages: Manage languages in the system and apply translations for the languages. Recent Search Filters: Use these to filter out words from recent searches onn homepage. Manage Faqs This sub menuu contains management of FAQ headings and FAQ question / answers. Manage Banners: To manage banners displayed on the public site. Manage News: To manage news that is displayed in the public section. Page 8
9 Manage Product Tags: This is a new feature using which, you can create html tags that will be able to show your site products on any other website. Manage Crawlers: This sub menu contains the following options: Start Product Crawler: This will start the product crawler job in browser. Start Price Crawler: This will start the price crawler job in browser. Clear previous state of both crawlers: This will reset the crawler urls and other cached variables that were created during the crawler jobs execution. By resetting this, you can start a freshh crawler execution. Page 9
10 Manually Run Cronjobs: This sub menu contains the following options: Once Daily Cronjob: Execute the daily cronjob in browser. Cronjob Category Tree: Execute the category last level cronjob in browser. Cronjob Google Sitemap: Execute the google sitemap generation cronjob in browser. Product Profilling: Execute the product profiling cronjob in browser. Product Profiling OP: Execute the optimized product profiling cronjob in browser. Optimize all tables: Optimize all database tables. Page 10
11 Update ebay API Settings: If ebay API is installed, you can provide its API settings here. Backup Database: Use this option to backup database. Manage Admins: This section allows you to add extra admin users. Manage Rights Pages: These are the pages on which admin can give rights to other users. Content Menu The content menu contains the following options: Categories: These are the options in Categories menu: Manage Categories: To manage product categories in the system. Import Categories: To import categories via CSV files. Export Categories: To export categories in CSV files. Product/Price Crawler: This section helps you manage and execute product / price crawlers. 12 Products: This section has the following sub sections: Manage Product Sources: You can select the source from where you want to show products. Manage Products: To manage the products in the system. Search Products: To search products in the system. Manage Products in Bulk: Perform bulk options like status change, delete or move to different category. Page 12
13 by Alphabet: Find products by alphabet. Products of the Day: Select daily featured products. Products in TEMP Table: Search products that were created by merchants and were not added to the original product catalogue. Start Products Crawler: Execute product crawler in browser. Make Products Featured Randomly: Run this job to randomly select featured products. Product Filters / Features: This section helps you manage the product features that are part off the script by default now. Brands: You can manage brands and also merge and fix brand namess in this section. Page 13
14 Merchant Menu The merchant menu has the following options: Current Merchants: This is the list of all merchants in the system. It has actions available to be performed for each single merchant. Manage Autofeeds / Import Datafeeds: This option allows you to manage / import merchant data feed files to populate the catalogue with merchant categories/products. Export Datafeed: This option allows you to export a products in a csv file. Add Price from Merchant: Create merchant price records. Register a Merchant: To createe a new merchant in the system, use this option. Start Price Crawler: This option executes the price crawler. You can setup price crawlers on the "Current Merchants" page. These crawlers are actually used to spider/crawl other websites to extractt catalogue information (categories and products) from there and insert them into our database. Page 14
15 Search Merchants: Search for merchants in the system. Search Merchant Prices: Search for merchant prices in the system. Page 15
16 Members Menu This menu has the following options in it. Current Members: This option lists all the visitors registered to the public website. Members: Send to all members. Newsletter: This menu has the following options: Newsletters Sent: Page 16
17 This menu has further sub options described as below: : Newsletter Archive: This contains all the newsletters sent uptil now. Compose Newsletter: Create a newsletter to send. Search Newsletter: Search for newsletters in the archive. Manage Categories: Manage newsletter categories. Manage Subscribers: Manage the subscribed members to the newsletters. Page 17
18 Affiliates Menu The affiliates menu has the following options: Manage Affiliates: Manage affiliate userss in system. Approve Commissions: This will show you the commissionss ready for approval. Send Commission Payments: To send payments to affiliates. Setup Affiliate Feeds: You can extract CSV and XML feeds here for affiliates. Upload Affiliate Banners: You can manage / addd banners for affiliates here. Charity Categories: You can create charity categories here. Charity Organizations : You can add / manage charity organizations here. Page 18
19 Reports Menu The reports menu has the following options: Product Lowest Price: View products with lowest prices in a category. Merchant Click through: This report shows the clicks made on products on a given date range. Merchant Payments: Displays the payment status of merchants on a given date range. Monthly Product Clicks: Displays month wise product clicks. Yearly Product Clicks: Displays year wise product clicks. Product Search Stats: Displays search statistics. Top Clicked Products: Displays top clicked products in a date range. Top Clicked Brands: Displays top clicked brands in a date range. Page 19
