2 Features Product Enhancements May 2011 As part of our ongoing commitment to providing you with the most powerful, easy-to-use investment research tool, MarketSmith will implement a number of enhancements effective May 5th, In addition to minor modifications to Column Configuration and the List Panel visual design, the following have been designed to help make your investment routine even more efficient.

3 Help Features New User Help When you launch MarketSmith on 5/5/11, the New User Help boxes will be displayed. To turn off New User Help, click on the Turn Off Help button on the New User Help pop-up box or by clicking the Gear button in the upper right hand corner and selecting Hide New User Help. Hover Help Expanded A substantial amount of content has been added to the Hover Help tool. Turn Hover Help on or off by clicking on the Gear button symbol next to MarketSmith on the upper right hand side on the chart page.

Your stock or fund will be added to that list.

4 List Manager Features Add a Symbol Directly to Your List You will now have the ability to directly add a symbol into any of your lists. Simply scroll to the bottom of the list you are viewing, click on the empty box and type the symbol. Your stock or fund will be added to that list. If the symbol you enter is already on that particular list, MarketSmith will let you know. Symbols in Related Information Panel Clicking on a symbol in the Related Information panel of an Industry Group or Mutual Fund now hyperlinks to the listed stocks.

Markups Tool Features Markups Tool Refined The MarketSmith Markups Tool has been enhanced to provide a compact, more convenient layout and additional functionality.

Clicking on the Markups Tool will undock the tool so you can place it anywhere on the chart you would like.

5 Markups Tool Features Markups Tool Refined The MarketSmith Markups Tool has been enhanced to provide a compact, more convenient layout and additional functionality. Beginning 5/5/11, the Markups Tool is accessed in the lower left hand corner of the MarketSmith Notes and Discussion Panel or by clicking the wrench icon in the upper right hand corner of the chart. Clicking on the Markups Tool will undock the tool so you can place it anywhere on the chart you would like. In addition, right clicking your mouse when your cursor is hovering over a chart will give you options to quickly draw a line, track price, or delete all annotations. Your annotations will now follow that chart throughout the site and into your next work sessions. You also have the option of clicking a single button that will display a list of all your annotated charts.

6 Markups Tool Palette A left click of the mouse selects the current option displayed on the particular markup button. Clicking and holding on the markup button opens a full list of options Markups Tool Functionality 1. Dock Palette Returns toolbar to docked position in the Notes and Discussion Panel 2. Markups Visibility Turns Markups on or off. 3. Markup List Allows you to view a list of all the charts on which you currently have markups. 4. Chart Background Color Sets the background color of your charts. 5. Shapes Tool Allows you to select the shape of the image displayed on the chart. 6. Pattern Tool Allows you to select a pattern that will be displayed on the chart. 7. Text Box Button Clicking the button will prepare your mouse to draw a text box. Move your mouse to the desired text box area then click and drag to draw the box. 8. Lines Tool Allows you to select the type of line to be displayed on the chart. 9. Annotation Color Button Determines the color of your annotation. After selecting the desired annotation, click and hold the color button to open a full menu of color options. Click the desired color and begin making your annotation. 10. Line Weight Determines the line style of your annotation. Once you have selected a line and color, click and hold on the Line Weight button to assign thickness. 11. Chart Utilities Allows you to assign a function to a left click of your mouse when not using the annotation tool. Click and hold to view options. The default setting is the Track Price feature. 12. Position Handle Click and drag here to move the toolbar anywhere on your screen. Additionally, when you apply the flag icon to a stock or fund, the flag will appear attached to that stock in all of the lists in which it resides.

7 Flag Features Global and Local flags are now Universal Applying flags to stocks for future review has been simplified. The Local and Global flags have been consolidated into a single flag type which can be applied to a stock or fund simply by clicking the flag icon next to its name. Additionally, when you apply the flag icon to a stock or fund, the flag will appear attached to that stock in all of the lists in which it resides. This new process ensures that you will always be able to easily identify and retrieve the stocks you are considering. New features also include the addition of a flagged list that can be accessed just below the recent symbols area in the upper left hand corner of the screen as well as the ability to sort flagged stocks or funds by the most recently flagged.
