2 Goals As avid sports fans we both are constant user of platforms from our personal experience and experiences expressed from others there has been many flaws on this platforms. Through our research we aim to improve the experience for ESPN users with changes to the web layout, breaking news via home page content and twitter.

14 Takeaways Instead of having content roll continuously have a show more bar to allow users when they want to see more content. Some Users might be coming to the site to see scores we should make sure that our scoreboard is expandable Instead of having twitter scroll forever use a top 20 tweets system similar to Bleacher Report.

23 Takeaways Our takeaways is that the trending topics and headlines should be noticeable that is the first thing users eyeballs should be attracted to when they visit the web page. Second there should also be an updated stream of news incorporated into the page due to how often news breaks in the sports world.also good combination of words and images/videos works perfectly.

26 Almost all tweets are accompanied by an article that links to their website. Very rarely retweets. Uses their authority as the leader in sports entertainment. Tweets use a voice that reads similar to a news headline.
27 Strengths Professional, clear and concise content. Consistent personality across tweets. Weakness Boring and less engaging than the other accounts. Content is unnoticeable and doesn t grab your attention.
28 Almost all tweets link to an article on their website. Uses a lot of hashtags, but mainly ones concerning games. Retweeted other Fox Sports accounts
29 Strengths Uses strategies to engage users like hashtags and retweets. Offers a variety of content like videos, articles. Weakness Voice and personality is scattered and inconsistent. No clear audience it s appealing to.
30 Live tweets events without links to website. Tweets a lot of memes, vines, etc. Utilize a lot of hashtags and emojis. The amount of tweets that link to articles are far fewer than ESPN and Fox Sports.
31 Strengths Consistent personality and voice across tweets. Engages audiences and the demographics they cater to. Uses strategies to encourage traffic and retweets (hashtags, humor, etc.) Weakness Content can be alienating to those that aren t apart of their demographics. Not every tweet is relevant information for followers looking for sports coverage.
32 Takeaways To attract more followers ESPN should try and take advantage of strategies that Bleacher Report does to engage followers. Content that are humorist like vines or reaction gifs are often retweeted more, bringing in more audiences. Live tweeting games keeps an audience engaged with your account and site. Hashtagging your content allows your content to be stumbled upon more easily.
33 Next Steps for ESPN They should implement a read more features for content on the website instead of the long scrolling. More diversity between text and videos/photos less text heavy. Add a title over the live tweet feed explaining that it is trending content and make the headlines title pop more. Add a more in depth scoreboard for users to see multiple sports scores at once. Use strategies such as Bleacher Report to engage twitter followers and use those strategies to generate more followers.
