3 2. Introduction This document, the Standard Design Reference, describes the standard features of the website we will build for you. All of the sections described here will be included in your website, unless they are superseded in the Design Requirements Document (RD). The Design RD is written specifically for your project and contains all of the unique details pertaining to your requirements from a design perspective. It is important that you review, understand and approve both this Standard Design Reference and your Design RD. Please contact us if you have questions about either of these documents. 3. Design Considerations This section describes the standard visual presentation of the project. This information will be used to help design the concepts and layouts that will be used during the build of the site. Description Rocktime will produce the concepts and layouts. The concepts will be based upon the details set out in this section. Once a concept has been agreed upon, it will be developed in to different layouts. Rocktime will usually develop the following: Wire frames (Consisting of boxes that show you where different items sit in the design) General concept (as an image, based on the wireframes) Home page layout (as an image, based on the wireframes) HTML template(s) (based on the design images) Favicon icon (see During the construction of the project Rocktime may produce additional layouts, at their discretion, that may require checking. Every page in the project will be based on the General Concept. Use of imagery Stock images may be used to illustrate design concepts. All images for the final site must be either copyright free or paid for (or provided by) the Client. Browser Compatibility The website will be compatible with the browsers listed below: Internet Explorer (IE) : Firefox, Safari, Chrome : Version 11 and Edge. The latest version as of when the build starts and future versions until the build is complete. Accessibility The site will be built to WAI Level A site accessibility standards. This will include: Alt tags on images

4 Alternative navigation may be provided if the other navigation will not function. This may be via a site map. No plain text versions of the pages will be produced as alternatives to the formatted ones. The LINK directive will not be used to redirect special browsers to alternate pages. Target connection speed The website will be designed to run optimally over a 2Mb broadband connection. 5 4. HTML Templates Description Rocktime will produce HTML templates from the concepts and layouts. Each template will be used by Rocktime as the basis of all subsequent pages in the project. Page Titles Titles will reflect the content on the page and be named at Rocktime s discretion. If you require any specific page titles you should make Rocktime aware of them prior to the commencement of the project. Meta Data Use Meta data is used in the headers of each template / page to help search engines catalogue the content. Meta data can be applied project wide, per section or per page. Rocktime will apply meta data project wide for small projects and per section for larger projects. This will be at Rocktime s discretion. Structure Meta data for each page consists of the following elements that will need to be provided by the Client. Some or all of this data will be used by search engines to aid in correctly cataloguing and ranking your project.
