2 Policies & Terminology 2 General Policy All ads must open in a new window when clicked on. Investopedia.com reserves the right to refuse any creative. All 4 th party vendors to be included in creative assets must be declared and approved by Investopedia. 3 rd party creative providers must give access to Investopedia in order to monitor delivery through their platform. Access should be granted for 3rdpartyinvesto@gmail.com. Creative Turn-Around Time Standard Display: 5 business days prior to launch Custom Integrations & Sponsorships: 2 weeks prior to launch Webinar Sponsorship: 4 weeks Terminology File Weight Calculation: The total compressed file size of all the ad assets being delivered to the browser at a given phase. File Load Size or Initial File Load: Includes all assets and files necessary (.html,.js,.css, images, ets.) for completing first visual display of an ad. The initial file load size of an ad is limited in order to preserve the page load performance and thus the user s web browsing experience. For non-rich media ads, the initial file load size limit is all that s allowed for the ad. Polite Load or Host-Initiated Subload: Withholding a portion of the total ad creative file size from loading on a page until publisher content has loaded. The additional file limit allowed for rich media and rising star units that is auto-initiated one second after the web page content has been loaded on the host computer or device. Host-Initiated = any action that is automatically initiated. Host-initiated: Any action that is automatically initiated. User-Initiated File Size: Ads that allow additional file size for host-initiated subload also allow for unlimited file load after a user-initiated interaction. User initiation is the willful act of a user to engage with an ad. Users may interact by clicking or tapping the ad or rolling over an ad. File Request: Each time the browser must retrieve content from another server that contributes to the display ad experience, a file request is made. Requests can be for elements such as text, images, and videos.

11 Dedicated 11 Requirements A minimum of 72 hours before the scheduled send date, the following documents and information should be sent to Adops@investopedia.com: 1. Creative in HTML format, branded header logo mandatory 2. List of Seed Addresses 3. Suppression File (if needed) 4. Subject Line 5. Preferred Send Time and Send Date 6. All images should be hosted by your server with an absolute path. HTML Guidelines: 1. All HTML tags must have an opening and closing tag 2. Background images are not allowed 3. Export to HTML from MS Word is not allowed 4. Images must have alt tags (i.e. alt= click here ) CSS Requirements: 1. Styles must be inline; external style sheets are not allowed 2. Internal Styles are not allowed inside the <head> tag 3. Overflow and float properties are not allowed Seed List Seed addresses are all the addresses that are to receive a test of the mailing prior to sending, and/or also a copy of the live mailing. A list of seed s should be sent in a text file with one per line. Suppression If there are addresses that you would like to ensure do not receive the mailing, these addresses should be in a text file, with one per line.
