1 Understanding the Patient Tab The Imaging Devices drop down menu allows you to select different devices, like EVA or a camera. These 4 buttons allow you to create a new patient, anonymous patient, clear the selected patient, or print Double click a patient s name to see each chart that the patient has, organized by date. When you click the specific chart date, you will see all of the images in the film strip at the bottom Quick Search lets you search by preset search parameters, like Yesterday/Today Studies Sub Tabs allow you to click on the Patient Information to see a patient s entire information entry Advanced Search lets you search by your own parameters, like specific date ranges or by tooth # Patient Tab Notes: 1. Hover the mouse over any button in EVAsoft for the tool tip. 2. Double click on a chart date and the chart will open up in the Chart View Tab. 3. Double click on any image in the film strip and the image will open in the Diagnosis View Tab. 4. The active patient is always named under the Patient Tab. 5. 2 Endo Mode allows you to take multiple x rays for one tooth position Understanding the Acquire Tab Series Mode allows you to take a series of x rays Select your chart with the drop down menu Retake or Skip an x ray, or Reset the entire x ray series order Acquire Tab Notes: As you take x rays they will load in order in the film strip Green means go, take your next x ray. Yellow means processing x ray. Red means the series is complete. Click the chart positions in the order in which you would like to take your x ray series 1. You can show or hide the traffic light by clicking the button on the tool bar. 2. The active patient is always named under the Patient Tab, as well as on the right hand side. 3. In the Capture Device Configuration box in the lower right you can add exposure data to your notes on the x ray. 4. You can select any x rays that you would like to take, in any order. If you don t select an order the default numbering sequence will be used as is indicated in each chart. P/N v0 Page 2

3 Understanding the Chart View Tab Add or subtract subtab charts, refresh the chart, or print the chart This allows you to select any study from the current patient s history The current patient and chart date are always on display Organize your x rays in different charts, like FMX or Bitewing Chart View Tab Notes: 1. Single click the images to select them, then double click the last image to send all selected x rays to the Diagnosis View Tab 2. Double click one image to send it, and the history of that patient s chart position, to the Diagnosis View Tab a. If that position has no history (if it is the first x ray in that chart position for that patient) then the whole current series goes to the Diagnosis View Tab. 3. Check marks indicate that the image is selected. Single click it again to de select it. 4. You can select images in the film strip, as well. P/N v0 Page 3

4 Understanding the Diagnosis View Tab Go back to the original image, or undo/redo the last image manipulation Change the image size. Fit snaps it to the window. 4 ways to zoom in and magnify an image Caries Detection Spotlight Auto or Manual Contrast adjustment The wrench icon is the View All Tools icon. Click this to see all of the available image filters and manipulations, including Sharpen, Measurement, Invert, Colorize, Draw Circles, add Notes and many others. Diagnosis View Tab Notes: 1. Left click the image on the right or left to make it the active image. 2. Original images are always saved as originals and cannot be overwritten. The image modifications need to be saved in order to be called back up at a later date. Any saved modified images will not overwrite nor replace the original image. 3. Use the Caries Spotlight to help you diagnosis decay and abscesses. P/N v0 Page 4

5 Understanding the Right Click Function 1. Right click any image(s) and then click Send Image on the menu to get the Transfer Images menu. 2. On the Transfer Images menu: Print Images: Prints the image(s) in the sub window. Copy: Copies the image(s) so you can paste it into Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, or another application. Preview: Click Preview, then click Keep On Top. This allows you to float the image on top of all other windows so you can look at the x ray while typing in another software, like practice management software. Diagnosis View: Sends the image(s) to the Diagnosis View tab. Send Only for Outlook. It will open an and put the image(s) in a zip folder for easy ing. File Export: Allows you to export the image(s) in any file format to any location on the computer, like the Desktop. Transfer Image: Let s you transfer image(s) from one patient to another if you take x rays under the wrong patient. Edit DICOM Header Tags: Allows you to alter the image s associated demographic metadata info. 3. Right click the film strip and click Create Film Strip window to float the entire film strip over all other windows. P/N v0 Page 5

6 How to Set Custom Image Filters in EVA soft Generations of Imaging EVAsoft has a unique ability where a user can preset customer filters on a computer where x rays are acquired. These can be different filters in each operatory in an office if they x ray sources vary, or they can all be set to be the same filter. 1. To set the filter click on Start in the lower left hand corner of your computer screen and then click on Computer 2. Double click on the C Drive P/N v0 Page 6

7 3. Double click on the EVAsoft folder, which is inside the C Drive 4. Inside the EVAsoft folder you will see the filter software, which is the Configuration_Tool. Double click it to open. 5. Click on the EVA tab at the top and check off any filter box that you would like. In some of the check boxes you can set the value of the filter. Please note that the Sharpen filter is preset to 4.4 and Window leveling is turning on. You can experiment with all of these filters with actual images in EVAsoft s Diagnosis View tab. P/N v0 Page 7

8 How to Set Up a Custom Chart Directions to alter an existing chart. This is easier and should be done if you simply want to change the order in which an existing chart acquires x rays. 1. Left click the Edit menu, then select Layout Editor 2. Left click Load Layout to load an existing layout P/N v0 Page 8

9 3. Select the existing chart that you would like to reorder and click OK 4. In this screen the left side is the side that shows you what would show up in the Chart Tab, and the right side is what would show up in the Acquire Tab. P/N v0 Page 9

10 5. Let s say we want to change the bitewing acquisition order to start on the left side of the patient s mouth. Left click the chart position that you would like to make first in order, and you will see it light up green. You will also notice the corresponding chart position will become bold. 6. Left click Edit View button. The Input window will appear, click OK. Next the Select Region window will appear, click OK. Next the Select a Custom Enhancement window will appear, click OK. Next the Input window will appear. You must select the new order position. In this case it is the first one, so enter the number 1 and click OK. 7. Follow these same steps to reorder the other chart positions for the 2 nd, 3 rd, 4 th x rays and so on. ** PLEASE NOTE: An error will occur if two positions have the same chart order number, so make sure that each chart position has a unique number. In the FMX there will be 18 total positions with unique order numbers. P/N v0 Page 10
