Then STN Easy, the convenient point-and-click web interface, is a most helpful tool for you. STN Easy provides easy web access to published journal articles and patents from all major areas of science and technology. A wealth of more than 80 of the world s leading sci-tech and patent databases is available from your desktop. You can search a wide range of subject categories! No category selection or knowledge about databases is needed. Advanced Search is intended for searchers who want to search in a specific sci-tech or patent area and who need more power and precision than that provided in Easy Search. To retrieve the information you need, just enter specific key words relating to the subject of interest, or use author or inventor, chemical name, CAS Registry Number, journal title, publication year, language, etc. or any combination of these search terms select the article(s) you want to see from the title hit list to display the detailed record(s) access the full text of your selected articles or patents electronically if available or order the print version directly via the STN Full-Text Solution. Patent Lookup - provides a patent-centered search interface that allows for fast, easy, and convenient lookup of patent information from the world s major patent databases. 3 EASY searching for sci-tech information You can even get to the full text of the article of your interest! You urgently need to find a paper on a specific subject. With searching that s this easy Just click the Full-Text Options button to call up STN Full-Text Solution. 1. Choose a category 2. Indicate words to be searched. Join search terms with Boolean Operators i.e., AND, OR, NOT, NEAR, if necessary 3. Click Search If the text of the selected research paper or patent is not available in electronic version you can order the print version via FIZ AutoDoc. Delivery is by mail, fax, or at your choice. Select the article(s) you want to see Click Display Answers The range of full-text available via the STN Full-Text Solution includes sci-tech articles from journals and books, monographs, patent publications, and grey literature, which is not readily available through commercial book channels. Electronic full-text is displayed right at your desktop. Patent Lookup provides a patentcentered search environment for convenient and straightforward lookup of patent information. Patent Lookup contains the most common patent-oriented search fields. How do I get STN Easy for Intranets? To bring STN Easy for Intranets to your organization, you need to: Be designated as the IP Address Authorization Administrator (IPAA) and the STN Easy Site Administrator. To apply for IPAA, fax the IPAA Request Form available at html/english/ipaainfo/ipaa2. html to FIZ Karlsruhe. You will be notified by when the setup process is completed. Log on to STN Easy.
