3 System Requirements Performance metrics should be established once a baseline system is configured. There are many factors that contribute to the performance of the OneStop Reporting solution, including hardware platform, network performance, number of concurrent users, number of transactions and size and design of individual reports. 4 OneStop Reporting 24SevenOffice integration This installation guide is for the 24SevenOffice integration of OneStop Reporting only. It is a branded version or the OneStop Reporting products and all connection setup is done automatically by the installation. The only thing the user will be prompted for during the installation will be the 24SevenOffice Community ID. Obtaining the Software All of the software can be obtained by visiting the OneStop Reporting products site at Two installation files are available depending on your Windows system: OneStopReporting_v3.x.xxxxx.xxxx_Setup_x86.exe for 32-bit Windows systems OneStopReporting_v3.x.xxxxx.xxxx_Setup_x64.exe for 64-bit Windows systems Copyright OneStop Reporting AS. 5 OneStop Reporting Overview Introduction This section describes the installation process for the OneStop Reporting products. The OneStop Reporting setup includes several different components. All products mentioned in this document can be downloaded by referencing the Error! Reference source not found. section. Product Overview General product description OneStop Reporting technology utilizes a Report Engine and a Meta Data Layer to extract and process live data from your business system directly into Microsoft Excel. As all the OneStop Reporting products will connect directly to your live data, there is no need to have the actual business system installed on the client. With the Report Designer or the Report Player installed, running a report is as simple as opening the Excel workbook. Report Designer The Report Designer is an add-in for Microsoft Excel which allows you to design and run reports directly in Excel. The tool is 100% drag-and-drop based and the user will immediately recognize their business system s items and objects delivered through the Meta Data Layer while creating the report. As the reports themselves are just ordinary Excel workbooks this allows you to utilize all the layout and formatting options of Excel and store and distribute the report as you would do with any other Excel file. Report Player This light weight add-in is intended for users who only need to run reports created in the Report Designer. The player allows the user to set parameters and run the report as he wishes, but not do any changes to the layout or definition of the report. Report Publisher Report Publisher is the ultimate tool for you to run and distribute your reports throughout your organization. Here you can setup Subscriptions to automatically run your reports at scheduled times and distribute them in various formats, including Excel worksheet, Web page or PDF document, to recipients in your organization or to a network folder. Report Composer In addition, OneStop Reporting offers the stand-alone and ad-hoc query tool Report Composer. This product is a Windows based application and does not require Microsoft Excel installed in order to operate. The Report Composer is well suited for those who need an easy-to-use tool for ad-hoc queries and simple report purposes. The Report Composer may also be used as a starting point for reports that should be further developed in Report Designer. Copyright OneStop Reporting AS. Page 5

6 OneStop Reporting Installation Upgrading from previous versions If you need to upgrade from a previous version of the OneStop Reporting 24SevenOffice integration please contact support@onestopreporting.com Installing 1. Logon as an Administrator. 2. Download and run the setup file for OneStop Reporting. See Obtaining the Software for more information about the appropriate file to download. 3. At the first screen, select the destination where the setup files will extract to and click Install to continue. Clicking the install button will extract the OneStop Reporting setup files to the specified folder in the Destination folder text box and start the setup wizard. This is a temporary folder which can be deleted after installation. 4. Then you will be prompted for your 24SevenOffice CommunityID. Make sure you type the CommunityID correctly in as there will be no validation of the ID at this point Copyright OneStop Reporting AS. Page 6

7 5. At the Welcome screen, click Next. 6. Read the License Agreement and select I Agree, click Next. 7. At the Select Installation Folder screen, the default installation location where OneStop Reporting will be installed is already selected. If you want the program files to reside in a different location then click on the Browse button to change the location. Click Next. On Windows Vista or higher or on Windows Server 2008, the default Program Files or Program Files (x86) folder is highly recommended as this is a Trusted location. A Trusted location has certain security privileges which are required for Microsoft Excel addins such as the Report Designer and Report Player. Installing in a different folder will trigger the Microsoft Office Customization Installer Copyright OneStop Reporting AS. Page 7

8 dialog box asking each user to confirm whether he wants to install the add-in the first time Excel is started. 8. At the Confirm Installation screen, click Next to start the installation. This will begin the installation. 9. Please wait while OneStop Reporting is being installed. Copyright OneStop Reporting AS. Page 8

9 Note: In Windows Vista and higher, you may receive User Account Control screen that will ask you if you want to allow the following program from an unknown publisher to make changes to this computer. Click Yes when prompted. 10. You should now see the Installation Complete screen. Click Close to finish your installation. Copyright OneStop Reporting AS. Page 9

10 OneStop Reporting - Starting the applications Logon When you start the OneStop Reporting application you will be prompted for a Logon dialog. In the Authentication drop down box choose 24SevenOffice In the User name field enter your 24SevenOffice Community ID In the Password field enter your 24SevenOffice Community ID password After having being authenticated you will enter into the OneStop Reporting applications and in the Configuration dialog you will be able to choose the company you want to report for. 11 Terminal Server Installation Preparation 1. Logon as an Administrator. 2. The Terminal Server needs to be configured to ensure that you are allowed to install Microsoft Installer (MSI) packages. This is done by changing a policy in the Windows Group Policy Editor. To Start the Group Policy Editor: 1. Go to Start -> Run and type gpedit.msc and press enter. 2. Navigate to Local Computer Policy -> Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> Windows Components ->Windows Installer 3. Right-click on Disable Windows Installer and choose Properties. You can also double click on Disable Windows Installer to open up the properties. 4. Select Enabled and set the Disable Windows Installer value to Never. 5. Click OK. To Manually Change the MSI Settings in the Registry: If the Group Policy Editor is not available on your server version, you can manually set this setting in the Windows Registry: Open the Registry editor and navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Installer Create or modify the REG_DWORD value DisableMSI and set it to 0 (zero). 12 You can change this setting back after you finish installation of OneStop Reporting. Installation Please refer to the section OneStop Reporting Installation for further installation steps. Notes: Registry entries for Report Designer and Report Player are now installed under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE instead of HKEY_CURRENT_USER as with previous versions. This change eliminates the need for setting registry entries per user by logon scripts. Shortcuts for OneStop Reporting components available from the Start Menu are installed in All users.
