4 Installation Modes Installation Modes ESApro provides two different installation modes: Local Installation The program is installed and executed on a single PC (this mode is suitable for single-user installations). Network Installation The program is installed and executed on a shared folder (this mode is suitable for multi-user installations). 5 In the Setup Type window select the CAD engine to use with ESApro and click Next. Then specify the AutoCAD/BricsCAD release to use with ESApro and click Next. Specify the installation path (e.g. "C:\ESApro V7") and click Next. Once performed installation a link will be created on the Desktop to enable you to launch the program. 5 / 17

The main benefit of operating in network is represented by the possibility of centralizing the management of specifications, tables and material lists. Sharing ESApro in a network basically means to manage the loading of the program of each workstation from a single shared folder. Said folder is usually created on the company server (see Figure 1). Figure 1 - Dedicated server configuration Otherwise when a dedicated server is not available, a local installation may be shared by means of a peerto-peer configuration (see Figure 2). Figure 2 - Peer-to-peer configuration Even if both configurations enable working in shared mode, the former is much better for the following reasons: Stability. Whether a workstation is used as a server, an eventual system crash will cause the block of ESApro on all the PCs. 6 / 17

7 Performances. A dedicated server guarantees a more efficient access to the shared resources. Protection. A workstation is exposed to the risk of fortuitous deletion of shared data. Security. The backup on the company server is ensured by the system administrator. In the Setup Type window select Network (as Server) and click Next. Specify an installation path that must be shared to all workstations (e.g. "C:\ESApro V7") and click Next. 7 / 17

8 The Server installation is ended. Installation on Workstation Once viewed the licence agreement information, in the Setup Type window select Network (as Client) and click Next. 8 / 17

For the Main Workstation (the one wich shares its installation) Launch a Local installation choosing the default installation path (e.g: "C:\ESApro V7") Share the folder "C:\ESApro V7" and give to all users the read/write/execute permissions. For all the other Workstations In the Setup Type window select the AutoCAD release to use with ESApro and click Next. In the Setup Type window select Network (Client) and click Next. 10 / 17

11 At the request of the Installation Path, select "Browse..." specify the shared folder (e.g.: "\\PC_3 \ESApro V7"), and click Next Once copied files a link will be created on the desktop to enable you to launch the program. 12 System Requirements System Requirements Since ESApro V7 programs require AutoCAD or BricsCAD V17, check that this last one is properly installed before proceeding with ESApro installation. Hardware requirements are the same of AutoCAD/BricsCAD, that is: For AutoCAD For BricsCAD V17 Intel Core i5 or higher Microsoft Windows 7 / 8 / 8.1 / 10 32/64 Bit 4 Gb RAM (for 3D Piping 8Gb RAM at least are suggested) 750 Mb of available space on the hard disk for AutoCAD + approximately 50 MB for each ESApro module. 13 Warning and uninstalling Warning and uninstalling All ESApro V7 modules use SQL Server 2005 Express Edition database. Please don't copy or delete database files in directory data. Use ESApro function (see manual) to manipulate database. 14 Server connection problem Connection problem If is impossible to connect from client to server, verify, if firewall is enabled, on server machine the exception presence of the following program: C:\Programmi\Microsoft SQL Server\90\Shared\sqlbrowser.exe C:\Programmi\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1\MSSQL\Binn\sqlser 14 / 17
