2 Overview: What does it take to add a curve? I want to show you a glimpse of the process to update our curve database on the MilsoE end I will introduce a new feature in LightTable to bring MilsoE curve updates directly to the user LightTable.LTD file versions and future updates Note: This applies to LightTable versions staring with

3 What informaion do I need to add a curve? EquaIon I can use the LightTable Curve Editor to enter in this type of informaion directly. (See LightTable Curve Editor slide #5) Points I can use digiizer soeware to create the points to enter into the LightTable Curve Editor (See Digi8zing Curves slide #4)

4 DigiIzing Curves Old Method: New Method: The Ole Plot DigiIzer Online DigiIzer There are several free online digiizers. In this video I am using Engauge Digi8zer.

5 Open LightTable, and open the Curve Database. You can Add a new Curve directly under the File New opion. LightTable Curve Editor This video will show an example of adding a points curve, and an example of adding an equaion based curve with manufacturer given coefficients. 6 You can Customize your own curves Users have the ability to use the LightTable curve editor to duplicate and modify exising curves, or add in your own curves. If you feel something should be added to our curve database, please send us the curve informaion so we can update customer databases using

7 LightTable Auto-Update: The LightTable Auto-Update lets MilsoE send update packages from our Master LightTable Database to the user directly. You can check for updates in LightTable in the Help Update Device Database. This will bring up the LTD Update U8lity where you can find curve packages and their update descripion. You can set LightTable to check for updates on open, or when se`ng your device database in the LTD Update U8lity SeOngs. Otherwise, you can manually check for updates under the Help as previously stated.

8 How does MilsoE send the User Updates? Curves are added into the Master.ltd Select curves to create the curve package LTDU file is created containing the update informa>on. This either remove, adds, or edits curves What is a LTDU file? This is the LTD Update package which consising of two files zipped together; a small.ltd file containing the selected curves and a Manifest file (.json string) which describes the update. Each LTDU file has a unique ID.

9 Con8nued.. The LTDU file gets uploaded onto an internal LTDU Service that passes the file to our server that will push the update to all users. At this point, the user will get a message that an update is available depending on your LightTable Update se`ngs. Now, you can browse to the LTD Update UIlity and apply the package. (See The LTD Update U8lity slide #10)

10 The LTD Update UIlity I will demonstrate how to apply a package. My LightTable is set to check for updates on Start:

11 Curve Updates Recent curves that have been added to our Master LightTable Database to be sent in future LTDU packages: 60 new curves for the Hubbell Power Systems Chance Fuse Links Beckwith smart M-7651 US and ANSI Digital Relay Curves

12 LightTable Database Versions StarIng with LightTable , when you first load your.ltd file, you can expect this message:

13 LightTable Database _Backup Once the.ltd file undergoes a version update, LightTable automaically creates a backup in the same folder directory. A backup is also made for any group file (.LW) opened.

14 LightTable Version 1 Since 8.2. builds of LightTable, MilsoE converted from a XML to SQLite database. These version updates will clean out obsolete SQLite tables leeover from the LightTable conversion and update backend schema. Your.Ltd file will then be assigned a version number. This will overall opimize your database and you will noice a decrease in the file size. This means that: LTDU packages will have corresponding versions Those on an older version as the LTDU will not be able to apply the package update The.Ltd currently can t be back-converted to an older version. If a LTDU is on an older version, it is forward compaible and will be converted. Star8ng with LightTable , you can expect Version 2.

15 Future Updates: StarIng in a future LightTable 8.7 release, the LightTable Update feature will be available to users for the purpose of sending curve update packages locally. Only MilsoE will push updates through our server, but LTDU s can be sent to us and inspected as long as we have the corresponding TCC data. This will allow users more control on creaing their own curves, and sharing them.
