3 Introduction This document describes features and enhancements included in the Global SMDR6 2.5 Release (WI02.19). This is a maintenance release of Global SMDR6. Version Information The firmware version codes of Global SMDR6 2.5 Release are: Bootcode: 30ALC19 Download code: 30ALC19 The download code version code can be retrieved through Norstar maintenance session using a Norstar set by checking the B2 status of the attached port. Both the bootcode, the download code and the C84 hardware ID can be retrieved using the AT command ATI in a PC Terminal connected to the serial port of Global SMDR6. Firmware Upgrade New SMDR6/CLI /CDR units will be programmed with current release of Global SMDR6. No firmware upgrade is necessary. Existing SMDR6 units can be upgraded to the new firmware by using the following procedures: Connect the SMDR6 to the PC using the Serial Port. Set the baud rate of SMDR6 to 9600 baud using Feature 9*2 on a Norstar set. Start up a PC terminal program that supports the YModem-G protocol (e.g. HyperTerminal in Windows 95 ). Select the appropriate COM port and configure the port with the following parameters (you may need to re-start the program for the change to be effective): 9600 baud 8 data bit none parity 1 stop bit hardware flow control Enter the following command in the PC terminal: ATY=Nor* (no space before and after = sign) The SMDR6 will prompt for firmware download. Transfer (send or upload) the firmware file (smrdwnld.bin) using the YModem-G protocol After the upgrade, the SMDR6 should re-start automatically. Verify the new firmware code using the ATI command.

4 Repeat the above procedures if the upgrade failed (SMDR6 prompts for firmware download again). Note that only the download code is upgraded. The bootcode is not changed and maintains the previous bootcode firmware ID. Global SMDR6 Release 2.5 (WI02.19) CRs Fixed The following CRs were fixed in Global SMDR6 Release 2.5 (WI02.19). Please look into CQ for detailed release notes for these CRs : Q : AFSCME:Springfield,IL:SMDR: SMDR reports are inaccurate Q : SMDR hanging and rebooting for external CFAC scenario. Q : SMDR was unable to use Account code feature when secondary station index was used. SMDR6 Features This Global SMDR6 2.3 Release (WI02.16) retains existing feature in SMDR6, including the following: Report Format SL1 Standard SL 1 Standard with CLID Norstar Standard Norstar Standard + CLID Norstar Real Time Norstar Standard + CLID + Real Time Enhanced CLI supports the reporting of Call Charge SMDR6 for MICS 4.0 support CLID Name and Call type (long distance or unknown) Report Filter All calls Outgoing Account code Prefix (Long Distance) Languages supported English and French Report for SMDR6 for MICS 4.0. English and French System Administration (selected according to set capabilities). English, French and Spanish Account Code entry (selected according to set capabilities). English only for Enhanced CLI. No administration for Report Language is available.

5 Access code and digit suppression The suppression of Personal Identification Number (PIN) after Access codes for secondary long distance providers. Account Code entry Feature to associate billable clients account codes with calls. No facility to define and store account codes. No validation on account code is performed. Extended SMDR6 Administration Market profile parameters can be administered using a Norstar set. To access the extended SMDR6 Administration menu, after entering F9*2, enter ( ADMIN ) immediately on the keypad will enable the extended Global SMDR6 menu. Enhanced AT Command Set All the parameters can be administered using the Extended AT Command Set through a PC Terminal. Limitation The maximum simultaneous line calls allowed are 120 with total number of events not exceeding 1,200. More than the limits will result in Record Lost.
