1 Installation and Configuration Document for upgrading Nuance Components for OXS 6.3 SP1 A. Take a backup of OXS Configuration and User Data: Following steps should be performed on standalone system or any one system in case of cluster setup. Under Export Section, specify the path in Export Directory Select all tables for Export and Press Export All, as in below screenshot. An export status dialog will appear. Press OK

2 Under Backup Section, specify the path in Backup Directory

Stop and Disable OXS services: Disable startup type and stop all OXS services from Windows Service Management Console and ensure that no OXS processes are running on all OXS systems in the cluster (controller as well as nodes) o On Controller and standalone system there will be VAManager, VAServerManager and PVAUserMSvc services. o On Node systems, there will be VAManager service. C. Uninstall following previously installed Nuance Applications: Repeat following steps for all OXS servers in cluster environment. Open Add/Remove programs. Sort it as per program name in ascending order (Click on Organize if not in order). Scroll down till it shows installed software list starting from word Nuance as in following screenshot.

4 Uninstall Nuance software in following order: o Nuance Speech Server o Nuance Recognizer o Nuance Vocalizer for Network o Nuance Recognizer languages for en-gb, en-us and fr-ca (e.g. Nuance Recognizer English en-us ( )) o Nuance Voices for en-gb, en-us and fr-ca (e.g. Nuance Vocalizer for Network en-us Samantha bet1) Uninstallation will prompt a confirmation dialog for each Nuance software to be uninstalled. Select Yes Nuance Speech Server will remove Nuance Server and Nuance Watcher Daemon, as in following screenshot. Select OK.

5 If following dialog appears, then stop all OXS services and Nuance services from Windows Service Management Console. Then press OK. D. Reboot the system. E. Install Nuance Software: In case of multi-node (cluster) one-x Speech environment, install Nuance components for each OXS system. Use Run As Administrator option (if available) while executing each Nuance setup file.

6 Install Nuance software in following order: o Nuance Vocalizer for Enterprise o Nuance Recognizer o Nuance Speech Server o Nuance Voices o Nuance Language packs o Install Recognizer cumulative language pack as follows: Open command prompt using Run As Administrator option. Change path to folder having install_cumulative_patch.bat file. Type install_cumulative_patch.bat and press enter key. After successful installation, the command prompt will show status message as INFO: The cumulative patch was installed successfully! Note: if the folder path is too long then batch file or setup file will show errors and patch/setup will not install properly. So rename a folder with a short name and keep the complete path length less than 100 characters. After installation, the add/remove program window will show following installed Nuance software. F. Restart the system.

7 G. System Configuration: Following Steps Must be performed on all OXS systems in Cluster setup 1. In Windows Path variable (System Variable) make sure following path should exists. If any of the folder paths are missing, then add them. %VOCALIZER_SDK%\common\speech\components;%NSSSVRSDK%\bin;C:\Program Files\Nuance\Recognizer\Recognizer Service\amd64\bin;C:\Program Files\Common Files\Nuance\Common\amd64\bin;C:\Program Files\Nuance\Recognizer\x86\bin;C:\Program Files\Nuance\Recognizer\amd64\bin;%NUANCE%\x86\bin Note: There is possibility that, instead of system variables %VOCALIZER_SDK%, %NSSSVRSDK% or %NUANCE%, there could be complete text path, so if the complete path is available then no need to add path containing variables, e.g. if C:\Program Files (x86)\nuance\vocalizer for Enterprise\common\speech\components is present then no need to add %VOCALIZER_SDK%\common\speech\components. 2. Modify registry values (Requires on all OXS systems): Open registry editor using Start menu -> Run and type %systemroot%\syswow64\regedit and press OK Locate following three registry keys one by one and modify with Updated string value given below: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\Nuance Watcher Daemon\Parameters\Args HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet002\Services\Nuance Watcher Daemon\Parameters\Args HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Nuance Watcher Daemon\Parameters\Args Existing string: watcher.modules=snmp wm.snmp.mibdirs=c:\progra~2\common~1\nuance\common\data\mibs watcher.daemonbroadcastaddress= Updated string value: watcher.modules=telnet,snmp wm.snmp.mibdirs=c:\progra~2\common~1\nuance\common\data\mibs watcher.daemonbroadcastaddress= From Windows Service Management Console, set Nuance Watcher Daemon service logon user as OXS domain user. This is the same user configured for OXS services. 4. Edit vocalizer configuration file: Take a backup of C:\Program Files (x86)\avayaspeechserver\config\nuance\ directory. Copy all 4 files (baseline.xml, rettt_esc_mappings.txt, ttsconfig.xsd, ttsconfig.xsl) from C:\Program Files (x86)\nuance\vocalizer for Enterprise\config\ to C:\Program Files (x86)\avayaspeechserver\config\nuance\ Edit file C:\Program Files (x86)\avayaspeechserver\config\nuance\baseline.xml in notepad and set the value of tts_license_ports to 96.

8 H. In case of multi node environment, complete all the steps till G above on all OXS systems. Once installation and configuration done on all OXS systems, then proceed to starting the services (as in I below) on each OXS system one by one. I. Start OXS Services: Repeat following steps on each OXS system (standalone, controller, nodes). Now change the Startup type from Disabled to Automatic for all OXS services from Windows Service Management Console. Start the OXS services in following order: o On Controller or Standalone system, start the services in order: VAServerManager then VAManager then PVAUserMSvc. o On Node systems, start VAManager service. After starting up OXS services properly, open OXS Management Console from Controller/Stand-alone system. Make sure that all the OXS components are up and running (green). If any components are not started, then start them manually (right click on the component and select Start ). The sequence of manual start should be NMS Telephony, TTS, Nuance Manager, VAServer, Speech Engines. J. Publish OXS apps: Once the Nuance and OXS services are started on all the OXS systems then proceed to publish the apps. From any of OXS system, publish OXS apps in the sequence given below. Make sure that the app is completely published before starting publishing of next app. o VXML o ExchangeConnector o IMAPConnector o CallAnswer o VAOutlook K. Verify System: Do a test call. The system should be up and running and should be able to take calls, recognize voice commands and produce the desirable output.
