1 VISION 3 COMPACT GSM SPEECH DIALLER USER MANUAL DESCRIPTION is a GSM communicator, which uses the existing cellular network to provide reliable and cost effective communication for security systems. When triggered it can send SPEECH and SMS text messages. The system gives full remote control of its outputs is possible over a remote touch tone telephone, by using a vocal menu that allows the user to activate outputs throughout the programming, or by means of SMS text messages. The system provides following features: - 3 Input Zones separately programmable and configurable - 3 PGM Outputs controllable for remote switching of other devices - 1 STATUS Input (SYS) to check a remote device s state - 1 RESET Input for the local reset of alarm - 1 Output for notification of system error - 1 Output for ring simulation of entering calls, which can be used for connections with other devices - 1 LED to signal GSM cellular network signal strength OK - 1 LED for notification of stand-by operation - Simulated PSTN line, which allows to call with a normal touch tone telephone or connect an hardwired communicator - It is possible to use SMSs to programme the communicator or to turn on one or more outputs; once the command has been received, an SMS will be sent back to confirm the action - Possibility to trigger an output by calling the communicator, which will wait for a single ring and will recognize the associated telephone number, from which the call has been performed. Once the output has been activated the communicator will ring back the calling telephone to confirm activation of the output - SIM card expiry date automatic check - Credit exhaustion automatic check

4 PROGRAMMING BY SMS Vision Compact 3 can be programmed through SMS messages. By sending one or more SMS to the dialler you can: enable/disable open-collector PGM outputs check the system status USER OPERATIONS The user has the option to enable/disable (in pulsed or steady mode) the PGM outputs, to monitor the status of each input, to check the status (on/off) of external devices, to change the user code, to allow the technician to enter technical programming in remote mode. USE OF SMS TEXT MESSAGES All the messages conveyed to the dialler must have a determined structure. Firstly they must contain a declaration of personal code. Example: UPWD: User Password If the message contains one or more values for the parameters, their structure must be the following: ID[.index] operation [value ] [ ] contains numerical values that are not always necessary ID = is the parameter identified by an alphanumeric code (example: UPWD is the parameter User Password, IN is the Input ). (Look at TAB. 1 for the complete list of IDs) TPWD UPWD LOCK IN OUT STATUS TECHNICAL PASSWORD USER PASSWORD SYSTEM UNLOCK INPUT OUTPUT SYSTEM STATUS TAB.1: IDs [.index] = is the number of ID previously mentioned, therefore this is the output, input, telephone... number (example: IN.1 = INPUT 1) Operator = this brings about a certain operation on parameter identified by ID. For the outputs the operator sets a value to them (see TAB.2) : means entering, and is used for passwords (example: UPWD:111111) = means a setting (example: OUT.1=ON switches on output 1)? is a request of information (example: IN.1? Asks for the input 1 status) ON OFF P Enable output Disable output Enable output in pulse mode TAB.2: VALUES At each SMS text message, the system can answer with different messages as feedback: OK command carried out *?* command non recognized *LOCKED* no user authorization FAIL not possible to carry out the command (example: there are no privilege for its execution) ON refers to the enabled status of an output OFF refers to the disabled status of an output 4

5 OP CL refers to the open (enabled) status of an input refers to the closed (disabled) status of an input HOW TO WRITE AN SMS To give a command through an SMS, a few simple rules must be taken into account. For example if the user has to enable the technician to change the programming: UPWD: LOCK=OFF this command enables programming through SMS for 20 minutes If a generic command has to be given it has always to be preceded by the user password: UPWD: OUT.2=ON the command activates output 2 As you see from the example, EACH COMMAND HAS TO BE SEPARATED FROM THE PREVIOUS AND THE FOLLOWING ONE BY AT LEAST ONE SPACE AND NO SPACE HAS TO BE PRESENT IN A SINGLE COMMAND. It is possible to have spaces other than for separating commands only in the case they are between quotation marks, as in the following example: Storing of telephone number 1 (with name) and options Answer Confirmation and Automatic Reset of the Call Cycle: TPWD: TEL.1= MARCO MOBILE ac From the example it is clear that a space has to be used between the telephone number and its options (look at CALLS AND PROGRAMMING WITH THE VOCAL MENU - Reception of the vocal call) -if there are any-, therefore if you want to store a telephone number with relative options you have to use quotation marks. At each command the dialler will send one or more messages back including the results of the previous programming. For example if you send the following programming: Activation of Output 1 in steady mode and Output 2 in pulse mode and check of the status of Input SYS (for example to see if an external device has been activated) UPWD: OUT.1=ON OUT.2=P STATUS? The system, after the execution of all the given commands, will respond with the following SMS: UPWD:OK OUT.1:OK OUT.2:OK STATUS:CL In case the dialler is unable to perform a command (for example, user not authorized), will answer with FAIL. In case the dialler does not recognize a message (typing errors), it will answer with?. CALLS AND PROGRAMMING WITH THE VOCAL MENU RECEPTION OF THE VOCAL CALL While receiving a vocal call from the dialler it is possible to perform several operations, depending on the programming (options) linked to the called number: NUMBER WITH NO OPTION: once the call has been answered, the dispatch is considered successful, therefore the dialler will call the following number. In case the user wants to enter programming, enter # and then dial the personal code. REMARK: LISTEN AT LEAST TO THE FIRST 5 SEC. OF THE MESSAGE, OTHERWISE THE DIALLER WILL NOT NOTIFY THIS CALL AS SUCCESSFUL AND THEREFORE WILL CALL THE SAME PHONE NUMBER AGAIN. STOP A CALL WITH THE RESET CODE: once a call has been answered, PRESS # TO STOP THE MESSAGE AND DIAL THE RESET CODE (example #123#), the dialler will respond with the message call cycle stopped. 5

6 NUMBER WITH OPTION A (ANSWER CONFIRMATION): In order to make the call to the number successful it is necessary to press #; if this is not done the system will call immediately the same number. In case the user wants to enter programming, he/she has to enter # and then dial the personal code. NUMBER WITH OPTION B (DIRECT ACCESS TO USER MENU): when the call is answered, after the message repetition, the dialler switches immediately to the user menu without asking the personal code. By pressing # the access will be anticipated. NUMBER WITH OPTION C (RESET OF THE CALL CYCLE): when the call is considered successful, the dialler will reset automatically the remaining calls. Important: when this option is activated, it is useful to activate option A as well, to be sure that the entire call cycle can be reset only by pressing #. NOTE: the above mentioned options can be entered for each telephone number; at each telephone number several options can be assigned. CALLING THE DIALLER If the answer is enabled, after the set number of rings, the system will accept the incoming calls, by keeping silent. Enter # and then enter the personal code. If the code is correct the user will be introduced to the user vocal menu. USER VOCAL MENU The vocal menu can only be entered by calling the dialler, or when you are called by the dialler; it is not intended to programme, but for remote operation by users (system check, output activation). Menu 1 contains the commands to activate outputs (3 outputs): it is possible to enable (in steady or pulsed mode) and disable a single or more outputs. Menu 2 allow a user to check the status of the inputs 1, 2, 3 and SYS (enabled or open/ disabled or closed) and of the outputs (enabled/disabled) in real time: their status are therefore listed by an automatic voice. Input SYS is intended for real time status monitoring of remote devices, which are remotely switched by using the dialler outputs. It is also possible to record two messages corresponding to activation or shutdown (example: alarm unit on, alarm unit off ). Menu 3 allow a user to connect with a remote system (example: intercom) for two-way telephone communication. When the command is activated, ring output is activated (for ring simulation) and, simultaneously, the automatic voice will ask to wait. When the remote system is connected the automatic voice will tell that the connection has been established and that the communication can start. Our products/systems comply with the essential requirements of EEC directives. Installation must be carried out following the local installation norms by qualified personnel. AMC Elettronica S.r.l. refuses any responsibility when changes or unauthorized repairs are made to the product/system. It is recommended to test the operation of the alarm product/system at least once a month. Despite frequent testing and due to, but not limited to, any or all of the following: tampering, electrical or communication disruption or improper use, it is possible for the product/system to fail to prevent burglary, robbery, fire or otherwise. A properly installed and maintained alarm system can only reduce the risk that this happens. Any GSM speech dialler or communicator, not connected to the PSTN standard telephone line, does not ensure proper communication in case of problems or limitations due to the GSM network. 6
