2 The Essentials What You Need You can access NeuroTracker Remote from any location with internet access. NeuroTracker Remote uses the Google Chrome and Firefox browsers on Windows or Mac. It s highly recommended to install or update to the latest version of your browser. Install Google Chrome here Install Firefox here Getting Started 1@ .com To login into NeuroTracker, simply type in your username and password on the login page (here). You can bookmark this page and allow your browser to save your login details for easy access. Otherwise, you can access NeuroTracker via the link in your invite. Watching the tutorial videos available at bottom of the login page is recommended before you start to train. Before logging in, you can also access the NeuroTracker 2D demo. It is a 1 minute session where no results are saved. Once you ve logged in, simply click the start button to run the first session! Your First Session The very first NeuroTracker session is in 2D. You will see 8 yellow balls- two of them will be highlighted with white circles these are your targets, remember them! The balls will move for 6 seconds, and then stop. Select the two balls that were your targets by clicking them with the left mouse button, via touchscreen, or by typing the number associated with them on screen on the keyboard (in any order). NeuroTracker will then show you the correct answers. This is one trial. If you selected both targets correctly, the next trial will be faster. If not, it will be slower. Each trial starts right after the last one, so always be ready! You don t need to remember any numbers from the previous trial, they change each time you are asked to select your targets. After performing 20 trials, your first NeuroTracker session will be complete.

As an approximate guide, the distance between your eyes and your display should be around the same as the size of the display. For example, with a 17 inch laptop your eyes should be around 17 inches away from the screen. With your NeuroTracker glasses, you can also judge this by being close enough so that the display takes up about 50% of the height of the lenses. Screens 15 inches or larger are recommended for NeuroTracker, however if your display is smaller than this, you may need to follow the displays recommended minimum reading distance as a guide to optimize your viewing experience. Upgrading to 3D Training in 2D Until you receive your NeuroTracker 3D glasses, you will be training in 2D. Your 3D glasses should arrive quickly, and as soon as you receive them, you should upgrade to 3D for enhanced training. When you receive your 3D glasses The NeuroTracker 3D glasses are specifically optimized for the software, it s highly recommended that you use only these. Also, you should always wear these glasses for NeuroTracker sessions once you have upgraded to 3D. Once you upgrade to 3D, you will no longer be able to train in 2D. Once you ve received your 3D glasses and upgraded to 3D, your account is fully setup and it s all about NeuroTracker training!

In the Up Next box, you will see the difficulty settings for the current session. This starts at 2 targets and 6 seconds tracking duration, but will change over time. If you scroll over or click the small [i] icon, you can learn more about the dashboard. Until you ve completed your second NeuroTracker session, the information on your dashboard will be minimal, then you ll see these appear: Completed Sessions Key Performance Indicators History The completed sessions shows you your overall history of when you ve trained, your progress goals, and how many to aim for each week and month. These are quick references to your overall progress. The targets and seconds (tracking duration) are the highest levels you have trained at. The Improvement (%) is the difference between your starting baseline and your current baseline (taking into account changes in the level of difficulty per session). This chart displays details of your session history, which becomes more detailed over time. If you scroll over a session point, you will see useful info about your results. Once you ve completed 3 sessions you will also see your initial baseline at the top (fixed), as well as your current baseline which will change with each session.

NeuroTracking is also more effective when performed regularly over time, but training more than 3 times per day is not recommended. This is because sleep is needed in between training for your brain to be able to absorb the benefits efficiently. Where to Look To help you spread your attention effectively, loosely keep your gaze around the bright dot in the middle of screen. This helps you use your brain, rather than your eyes, to track all the targets at the same time. Managing Your Answers Your targets will remain the same in each session, but the numbers will change each trial. Numbers are presented in case you want to use your keyboard for inputting answers. If you use your mouse, you don t need to pay attention to the numbers. NeuroTracker accepts your answers automatically a few seconds after your targets have been selected. If you want immediate feedback, however, just press the enter key after selection, or use the right-click on your mouse. If you selected a target unintentionally, you can click or type its number again to deselect it. Occasionally, one of your targets may be hidden by another ball. If this is the case, wait a moment for the auto-rotate to reveal it. The green dots on the left show how many trials you have left in your active session. A star is shown whenever you get all targets correct, and a dash is shown if you miss any targets. At the end of each trial, you can also see your next speed on the top left. This is calculated from your results in your previous trials. To test your boundaries NeuroTracker will sometimes increase the speed by a lot so always be ready for action!

6 NeuroTracker Knowhow Pausing Sessions You can press the spacebar if you need to pause while NeuroTracking (only when the balls are not moving). You can exit a session by clicking the red X on the top right (no results will be saved). There s also a full-screen toggle on the top right next to exit. Clicking it will run the session in the browser window, however full-screen is highly recommended. What Your Score Means NeuroTracker analyzes the speeds of all your trials, both successful and unsuccessful, in order to calculate the limits of your tracking speed ability. Your final session score is a measure of your speed threshold the speed at which you get all targets correct around 50% of the time. Your Core Program Pausing Sessions NeuroTracker not only adapts the speed to match your personal needs in each session, but it also adapts the level of difficulty from session to session. This happens by changing the number of targets and the amount of seconds you track for. As you progress through your program, these measures will likely increase to cater to your improving NeuroTracking abilities. This process is handled automatically, so do not worry! At the start of your program, the difficulty is tracking 2 targets for 6 seconds movement duration. The targets in NeuroTracker range from 1 to 4, and the range of movement duration is 4 to 8 seconds. NeuroTracker increases targets or duration for the next session whenever you achieve above 2.0 for your current baseline. You can see these changes next to the start button before you train.

7 Your Core Program Your Learning Rate If your number of targets has changed from 2 to 3, you ll notice that tracking is much more challenging, and will likely achieve a lower session score than normal. For this reason, you will now see both a blue and a green line in your results chart. The green line is the normal session score, and the blue line is your Learning Rate this is the score you would normally get if still at 2 targets. Follow this to see your overall progress. Your Cognitive Profile The average of your first three session speeds will give you your baseline your starting measure of your attention. From then on your current baseline will be your given for your last 3 sessions. Both of these are cognitive reference points used by pro teams to assess mental performance ability, and they are always presented on your results chart. As well as your baseline reference, NeuroTracker will give you these profiles: Improvement (%) the difference between your initial baseline and your current baseline (calculated as 2 Targets). High improvement rates have been shown to reveal elite athlete potential. Target and duration level - 4 targets and 8 seconds is the maximum, which is the level of elite athletes. The higher these levels, the better your selective and sustained attention.
