2 2 Select the My Training page. This Opens to display your Classes, Course Assignments and Labs you are scheduled to attend today and in the future. Transcript Links to your student transcript which displays information on In-Progress & Incomplete Enrollments, Completed Classes, Course Assignments, etc. To attend your Class, in the Class section, select your Class or Course Assignment. It will open to the Enrollment page. On your Enrollment page, the Basic Information section shows the Event in which you are enrolled in today or in the future. It also displays the date and time of the session, your enrollment status, and the class name. Scroll down under the Software Check section, and then click the Launch Test Lab button.

3 3 This Test Lab is designed to help introduce you to the Lab on Demand interface and to learn important components about the Lab environment. It will also confirm whether you have the appropriate hardware requirements established on your computer and at your site to run the labs. Please go through the Test Lab a couple of days in advance of the Class and complete all of the steps. Be sure you are using the computer and are at the site in which you intend to go through your Class and Labs. To Launch into a Lab Labs contain sets of tasks to perform in a virtual environment and are designated by a green flask. Scroll down to see the Activities section. Click the Launch button for the lab you would like to complete. Note: Labs will not allow you to Launch until the beginning of the first day and hour of class.

4 4 A window will open; wait while the lab environment is built. This will take a couple of minutes.

5 5 Follow prompts to open the lab. On the first launch you will encounter several prompts such as the Unencrypted Connection window and the NTLM Authentication. When these appear, select the Don t ask me again check box and click Yes to continue to the lab.

6 6 Select Continue to advance to the Lab Objective and Scenario.

7 7 Review the purpose of the lab and select Continue. Next, an explanation of the Exercise and the Tasks you ll perform is displayed. After reading it, click Continue.

8 8 Now the session content will open.

10 Lab on Demand Environment 10 The lab environment is comprised of four panels. The main window is the virtual machine (VM) display area. This is where you perform the task steps. The top panel consists of a title bar, machine commands, remaining course duration time, and the logoff menu. The bottom panel provides the current task step in progress. The right panel is made up of tabbed content. By default the Overview tab opens, displaying an overview of the Task steps for that lab. The current step is highlighted. TOP PANEL FEATURES Title Bar View the Module, Lab number, Lab title, the virtual machine (VM) in use, the Machines Command and Exit menus, and time remaining to complete the Lab. Machine Commands Click here to perform frequently-used actions such as Ctrl + Alt + Delete, or to enter a VM password, paste clipboard text, refresh the display, or save a differencing disk. Exit Menu Choose Save and Close whenever you leave a session or Cancel the lab only if you are choosing to end a session. Note: If you stop before completing a lab, be sure to Save and Close to save your progress and pause the clock on the lab. Merely clicking Exit will leave the lab open and keep the clock running. You will not be able to open another lab until this one is closed appropriately. Also do not click on the RED box with white X in it. This only closes the window and your lab and timer continue to run.

11 RIGHT PANEL FEATURES Select the name of the feature to expand its information. 11 Overview Displays summarizing titles for each Task to be completed and highlights the current step on which you are working. Introduction Opens the Lab Introduction dialogue box. Exercise Summary Opens the Exercise Summary dialogue. Machines Displays thumbnails of the virtual machines used in the lab. The machines can be opened here. Resources - Provides any additional materials needed in order to complete the lab. Options Provides options for modifying the window display and settings according to your preferences. This is also where your Remote Controllers are located. BOTTOM PANEL FEATURES Arrows Move forward or back through task steps using the blue arrows. Alert Icon lights up and bubble automatically pops opens when there is important information you need to successfully complete the task step. Idea Click the lit light bulb to view additional helpful information. Screen Shot View the completed task to see exactly what your screen should look like for each step in the lab. Task window Read task step directions here and complete them in the main window. Done Click the green Done button when you ve completed a task step in order to progress to the next step.

12 Progress Bar View your progress as you complete the lab. 12 If you need to stop in the middle of module, select from Exit to Save and Close the lab. The lab takes a few minutes to become available again after saving. When you return (under Activities on the Enrollment page) you are given the option to Resume where you left off or start over from the beginning by Canceling, after which a new Launch button will appear. The labs will retain your work for 2-7 days once Saved and Closed. If the lab is not accessed by the time the lab indicated when you Saved and Closed, your work will be automatically cancelled and you will need to start over from the beginning.
