5 windream Release 1 windream Release This document contains an overview of all new windream 6.0 features and of the known issues of the release version Release Notes For a detailed description of the new windream 6.0 features, please refer to the document "windream 6.0 What's new". windream Find Functions The Navigator Search This new feature of the windream find function allows users to conduct search processes on the basis of structured properties (object types, object-type-specific index properties, and system indices) and with free search terms, across the index data and fulltexts of documents. This find function supports users with the input of search terms and the creation of complex search terms via choice lists and context-specific lists of suggestions. Integrated windream Document Preview Thanks to the complete integration of windream DocView into the windream find functions, the DocView functions can be accessed context-specifically, via a tab page in the multi-function bar of the windream find function, or via the menu bar of the preview window. Search Options As in previous versions, the search options can be accessed via the tools section, and via a separate tab page in the multi-function bar of the application window. Search Profiles and Favorites In the windream version 6.0 and higher, search profiles and favorites can be loaded and launched via the Search option, and, as in previous versions, via the tools section. Reading Mode The reading mode is a new full screen mode for displaying search results. In this mode, the search results will be displayed on a full screen, allowing users to select and edit documents as in the regular mode.

6 2 Release Notes windream DocView Annotations in the Sidebar of the Application Window Annotations on documents will be displayed as lists in the sidebar of the application window. In these lists, annotations can be captured, edited and made available for other users in real time. This allows users to have discussions concerning documents. Editing Options for Annotations The options for editing annotations to be available for users in the sidebar view (editing, changing rights, and deleting) can be configured globally via the windream Server, Registry entry AnnotationFlags (key HKLM\SOFTWARE\A.I.S. GmbH\windream\3.6\Annotation). Cover Flow The integrated cover flow view for documents is available for all file types that the windream Server can display as thumbnail views. Tab Page View for Documents The display of currently opened documents on separate tab pages allows the simultaneous display of several documents. The tab page with the current document can be pinned and new tab pages can be opened for displaying new documents. Document Properties The document properties can be viewed via pop-up windows (mouseover) on the tab pages of currently opened documents. Integrated windream Context Menu The windream context menu items can be accessed via a separate tab page in the multi-function bar. Document Editing windream Context Menu The windream context menu has been extended by new functions (user and administrative functions) for the management and editing of documents and folders. Version Management The integration of windream DocView into the version history of documents allows users to view specific versions as previews via the Version tab page in the version history of documents.

7 Release Notes 3 windream Server Searches across Folder Trees New database index in one line (object IDs) of the temporary table for subtree searches for the enhancement of the system performance during searches across folder trees of the windream ECM system. Proxy Lock Proxy locks on documents will be activated once the document is first edited, not on closing a file. Sectional Locks of the Windows API In windream 6.0 and higher, the lock types Shared and Exclusive of the Windows file system API will be used for locking single sections of files. New SDK Function for Bulk Imports Implementation of a new function (method GetNewWMObjectFSFromFile) for bulk imports for quick file migrations into the windream ECM system. Containers and Elements Thanks to the extensions for the windream object containers (node) / elements (leaf), elements can be permanently linked to documents. Any rights changes concerning the documents will be applied to the linked elements. If new document versions are created, new versions of the linked elements will also be created. Before the permanent deletion of documents, all linked elements will also be deleted. This feature can be used for the development and implementation of hierarchical structures and is used for the management of windream annotations in the windream version 6.0 and higher. windream Management Console windream License Overview The integration of the new Licenses node into the Statistics section of the windream Management Console offers an overview of the currently used number of licenses for all windream products in a company. windream Services and Drivers Unicode support Support for 64 bit IDs (the switch of all database ID fields to 64 bit integer values allows users to manage up to documents)

8 4 Release Notes Operating Systems and Databases Support for Windows Server 2012 R2 Support for Microsoft SQL Server 2014 Windows XP and Microsoft Windows Server 2003 are no longer supported windream 6.0 Server installations are only supported on 64 bit Microsoft operating systems. My windream Vector Index Fields for Structuring Subfolders in the Dynamic View A special Windows Registry entry allows users to configure whether vector fields are to be listed in the index choice list. By default, vector fields will not be displayed (the value in the Registry does not exist or is set to 0). This entry must be created in the Registry if it does not exist yet.

Notes on Migrations of windream 5.5 Servers and Previous Versions Important Note: Migrations of windream versions below 6.0 can only be executed on the basis of the windream version 5.5 (Server) and require the server DMS patch 17. We recommend updating the windream Server 5.5 to the most recent patch level. Versions below windream 5.5 must first be migrated to windream 5.5. windream Client with windream 5.5 (or a previous version) cannot be connected to windream Servers, since the search profiles created with windream 6.0 could not be read otherwise. This incompatibility is due to the conversion of the database for the Unicode support.

12 8 Known Issues Known Issues Topic Note Compatibility of third-party components and scripts Installation of a 32 bit windream Client Before updating a productive system to windream 6.0, it may be required to test components and scripts used in conjunction with windream for their compatibility. Once the windream 6.0 Client (32 bit) has been installed, a windream Client with a version below 6.0 can no longer be installed. To solve this problem, manually delete the following files from the Windows\System32 folder after uninstalling the windream 6.0 Client: NPWindream.dll WMBox.dll WMConf.cpl WMCrypt.dll WMCtrl.dll WMHelp.dll WMLogon.dll WMOTool.dll WMRgTool.dll WMSysLD.dll WMSysUG.dll WMTools.dll WMZlib.dll Migrating annotations In windream 6.0, the creation and management of annotations has changed. Annotations created with the windream version 5.5 and below should be migrated to windream 6.0 after the update installation. The migration can be carried out at any time after the installation also during running operations with the help of a tool. This tool will not be installed with the windream setup. It can be obtained via windream GmbH, or downloaded from the download section of the windream homepage. Note: If no migration of the annotation is executed, annotations created with a windream version below 6.0 can still be edited, and new annotations for documents can be created.

13 Known Issues 9 No annotation archiving During the archiving of documents, the respective annotations will not be archived. An archiving of annotations only as in windream version 5.5 and below is not possible, either. In windream 5.5 and below (saving annotations to the file system analogously to documents), the document types of annotations could be configured to allow an automated archiving of annotations at the time of their creation, or a manual archiving of annotations via the context menu. Annotations Mapping index fields of the element type for annotations The index fields of the object type for annotations (Annotation- NL) possess fixed data types. If the data type for one of the index fields for this object type (wmvar00 to wmvar08, and wmvar93 to wmvar94) is changed, the object type import will fail. In this case, a new element type with the corresponding index fields must be created in the WMC, and the mapping of the index fields must be configured via the windream Server Registry. For this purpose, create the registry entry AnnotationMapping of the String type under the key [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\A.I.S. GmbH\windream\3.6\Annotation]and configure the mapping in accordance with the following pattern: "AnnotationMapping"=(STRING) "#title=wmvar93;#text=wmvar94;#textlenght=wmvar00;#top =wmvar01;#bottom=wmvar02;#left=wmvar03;#right=wmvar04; #bgcolor=wmvar05;#textcolor=wmvar06;#annotationtype=wm Var07;#annotationdocument=wmVar08 Note: Not all columns need to be entered. Configuring the mapping for only those columns deviating from the default values (see table) will suffice. If Proxy Servers are used, the index field mapping need only be configured in the windream main server Registry.

14 10 Known Issues DocView General The highlighting function for hit locations may not function as expected. Outside-In If the integrated text search of the Outside-In plug-in is used, searches for Unicode characters will not be possible. PDFXChange While browsing the result list of a windream search process, the PDFXChange plug-in will receive the focus for the display of PDF documents in the integrated preview. Navigating the result list via the arrow buttons will only be possible after clicking into the result list once. Error while capturing annotations The sequential capturing of several annotations in the sidebar can cause DocView to crash. Function group for annotations in the multi-function bar The option buttons in the Annotations group of the multi-function bar will be active, even if the annotations have not been configured. Find function Search profiles While loading search profiles of the version 5.5, the path will not be displayed; however, it will be recognized correctly during the search process itself. Details section The contents of type-independent vector fields, vector index fields and fulltext fields (extended fulltext fields) will not be displayed in the details section of the windream find function. The index properties of folders will not be displayed in the details section in this version. Auto-complete Lists or pop-ups displayed in text input fields for input support (autocomplete) will not disappear again under certain circumstances. Only clicking on the lists / pop-ups will close them. Using multi-monitor systems On multi-monitor systems, moving one application window of the windream find function from one monitor to the other may cause single panels (result list, detail section, semantics section) to not be

15 Known Issues 11 displayed on this monitor. Saving favorites The dialog for entering favorite names asks you to enter a file name on pressing the RETURN key. Confirm this message by clicking on OK to save the search profile as a favorite. Quick search The search options Folders Only and Files Only will not be ignored during quick searches for certain object types. To receive the desired search result, change the object type to "All Object Types" and change the corresponding option (remove checkmark). Now, restart the search for the selected object type. NLS designators for object types in choice lists In the choice lists for object types, e.g. in the column configuration of result lists, the object types will not be displayed with their NLS designators. My windream windream VFS and Windows 8.1 A double click on the name (File Name column) of the currently selected folder in the windream VFS (namespace) will not open the folder but trigger the Rename action (highlighting the name for the input of a new name). A double-click on the file icon or on another column of the selected folder will yield the correct behavior and open the folder. Vector index fields for structuring subfolders in the dynamic view A special Windows Registry entry (AllowVectorIndexForDynamicSubfolders) allows you to configure whether or not vector fields shall appear in the index choice list (value = 1). By default, vector fields will not be displayed (the Registry value does not exist or is set to 0). The entry (string of characters as REG_DWORD) must be configured under the key [HKLM\Software\A.I.S. GmbH\windream\3.6\Shell\Namespace] if it does not exist yet. Note: The following restrictions are known concerning the use of vector fields for structuring the subfolders of dynamic views: In the search on which the dynamic view is based, searches across vector fields, for Catalog IDs (e.g. files only or folders only ), and for dwflags must not be conducted.

16 12 Known Issues WMC Moving files in the DMS browser After cutting files from a folder A and adding them to a folder B, the folder B will lose its focus and the folder A will be reactivated. However, the files will be moved correctly. Proxy Server Inactive context menu items On windream Clients connected to windream Proxy Servers 6.0, context menu items such as DocView, Export, etc. may be inactive (displayed in gray) even though the user possesses the reading right. To make the corresponding context menu items available, a windream administrator must deactivate the checkbox Contents not readable in the windream Management Console. Update from windream 5.5 to 6.0 with Oracle DB The setup contains a version of the migrate procedure which will prevent the SEQUENCEs for the creation of unique IDs to not be corrected. This will lead to UNIQUE CONSTRAINT VIOLATION errors; no data will be corrupted. A workaround, which should be easy to implement for an administrator, can be requested from windream GmbH. The updated procedure will be included in the next maintenance release via the windream Server setup.

17 Known Issues 13 windream Share Drive Problems with drive mapping on the windream Client On the windream Client, problems may occur while connecting to the Share Drive (drive mapping) (e.g. caused by a lack of administrative rights). To avoid this, the entry LoginTokenHandle (character string as REG_DWORD) must exist in the Windows Registry of the windream Share Server: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\ Services\vfsdrv\Devices\VfsccomDevice\1] "LoginTokenHandle"=dword:
