1 Instruction ISIscan 4.2 installation on Windows 7 A number of issues concerning ISIscan 4.2 and Windows 7 have been identified. They are mostly related to privileges (i.e. administrator vs. user) and User Account Control and are described on the following pages. In order to successfully install and execute ISIscan 4.2 on Windows 7, please read and consider the issues carefully prior to installing. 1 Privileges (defect #2318) ISIscan must be installed with administrator privileges. ISIscan must be executed with administrator privileges. Workaround: Install outside of Program Files folder e.g. in C:\ISIscan and only user privileges are required. 2 User Account Control User Account Control in Windows 7 can be set to four different levels. 2 At Level 4 (lowest): Installation OK Launch OK (i.e. simply double-clicking icon) If User Account Control is not set to the lowest level possible, and you do not want to right-click and select Run as administrator each time you want to launch ISIscan you can do the following: 1. Right-click ISIscan icon on desktop and select Properties 2. On the Shortcut tab, click button Advanced 3. Check box Run as administrator 4. Click button OK 5. Click button OK Now ISIscan will be run as administrator each time you double-click the icon. 3 MSVCRT.DLL (defect #2314) 3.1 Situation: This dialog appears during installation: 3.2 Workaround 1 (Install as WinXP-compatible): Step 1: Right-click on the installation file and select Troubleshoot Compability. 8 4 Control Panel Programs and Features (defect #2315) Info concerning application size and version missing in Programs and Features. 5 ERC Tool (defect #2350) In order to be able to write *.csv ProtecOutput files, tool must be run as administrator: 1.
