6 1. Wormhole 1. Wormhole Outline Wormhole? Wormhole is a production process management tool to manage tasks and procedures systematically. Using wormhole the production time and cost is saved considerably. Moreover, cooperation among team is also increased. With a central asset database, high quality output is produced. Easy task scheduling Simple interface for Artists Instant Feedback through Real Time Communication Language Support for English, Chinese and Korean Web Based Program for Easy Accessibility. Stand Alone server for Intranet or Off-line management. Publish tool with contents version control. Simple workspace for easy data management. Wormhole has a hierarchy of Projects, Sequences, Assets and shots. A project is consist of Sequences & Assets. Each Sequence is consist of multiple shots. 7 1. Wormhole 2. Admin and User System Wormhole consists of an Admin System for privileged users and a User System for normal users. Admin System allows admin to create projects, manage users and task type. User System provides user with task scheduling, task management, and third party software integration features. Features dependent upon user type are listed below. - Permission to modify task : allowed users can create and delete shot/asset task and also set schedule for the task. - Permission to assign artists : users can assign artists to specific tasks. - Permission to change progress status : user can change the progress status of each task. - Permission to modify task schedule : user can modify the task schedule. Each Wormhole website has a separate Admin Site and a User Site. If the name of your company is Test, the Admin Site address would be Test.wormholepipeline.co.kr/site_admin and the User Site address Test.wormholepipeline.co.kr <Wormhole Admin Site > - Register/Manage project and user - No ID, Password only - Default password is adminpass <Wormhole 'User Site'> - Select project schedule - Assign user and start tasks - Check/Manage workflow The password of Admin Site test version is testwormhole.

The password of Test Admin Site is testwormhole. Select language on the Admin Site. You can select language in Environment - Option menu. Three languages are available Korean, Chinese, and English. Change password of the Admin Site. You can change password in System Administration - Password menu. Do not change password of Test Admin Site (Test.wormholepipeline.co.kr/site_admin) for other users.

All data published with Wormhole will be saved under File Server Home Directory. - Setup data saving directory for artist PC. This directory can be changed on the User Site by each user. - Setup data saving directory for file server. - Setup data saving directory for file server in Linux OS.

There are two user registration methods. First, you can register individually in User - Registered User menu. Click New button on the User page. Enter information on the New User page. You must enter User ID, User Name, and User Type. User ID Enter user ID. English is recommended. User Name Enter user name. User Type Choose one of options - Artist / Team leader / Coordinator / VFX Supervisor / Seq Supervisor. You can select different user types in User-User Type menu.

Click Download button on the Upload User File page. If you click Download button, you can download files that you need for user registration. You must enter User ID, User Name, and User Type. User ID Enter user ID. (English is recommended.) User Name Enter user name. User Type Enter one of options A (Artist) / T (Team leader) / C (Coordinator) / V (VFX Supervisor) / S (Seq Supervisor). You can select different user types in User User type menu.

16 Even if you delete users in Excel file, registered users will not be deleted in Wormhole. You can delete users in Registered User menu one by one or en bloc. When saving a edited file, you must save in xls form by choosing Saving As Excel version. If you select and upload a file, modification will be applied.

Click New button in User Team menu to register new teams. Enter team name and select task for the team. If a team is already registered, you can also set up the team in Registered User menu. After team registration, select team members. Click Modify Modify Team Team Member on the Team page to select team members.

18 One user belongs to one team at a time. When a member is sent to another team, the member will be automatically removed from the previous team. If the user type is set as Team Leader, the member will be automatically set up as a team leader. If a team is already registered, you can also set up the team in Registered User menu.

The default password is identical to the registered ID. For example, if the ID is ABC, the password will be ABC. Passwords are case sensitive. Log into the User Site and select language first. You can select language in My Task Personal Information My setting menu. Choose one of three options Korean, Chinese, and English. And we recommend the changing password. You can change password in My Task Personal Information - Modify Password menu.

Each shot uses assets, but assets are not subcategories under shots. Assets are subcategories of the project and can be used for different shots simultaneously. Shots and assets consist of multiple tasks, depending on the workflow. You can manage project, sequence, shot, and asset in Project Management menu on the Admin Site. You can also set up the member who will be involved in each project.

Click New button in Project Management Project menu to register a new project. Enter information on the New Project page. You must enter Project ID, Project Name, and Schedule. Project ID Enter project ID. English is recommended. Project Name Enter project name. Schedule Enter targeted schedule. Click and select dates on a calendar.

22 After project registration, create Project Directory in 'File Server Home Directory. Click the Modify button on the right side of each project. On the Modify Project page, click 'Install Plug-in' button to create 'Project Directory. All data published with Wormhole will be saved under Project directory in File Server Home Directory. If any function does not work during use Wormhole, try click 'Install Plug-in. ~

Select Project Management - Sequence menu and select a project. Or click Project ID in Project page. And click New button on Sequence to register new sequence. Enter information on the New Sequence page. You must enter Sequence ID and Sequence Name. Sequence ID Enter sequence ID. English is recommended. Sequence Name Enter sequence name.

There are two shot registration methods. First, you can register shot individually. Select Project Management - Shot menu and select project and sequence. Or click Sequence ID in Sequence page. And click New button on Shot to register new shot. Enter information on the New Shot page. You must enter Shot ID, Shot Name, and Schedule. Shot ID Enter shot ID. English is recommended. Shot Name Enter shot name. Schedule Enter targeted schedule. Click and select dates on a calendar.

Click Batch job Download buttons on the Shot page. Click Download button to download files that you need to register shots. You must enter Shot ID, Shot Name, Schedule, and Sequence ID. Shot ID Enter shot ID. English is recommended. Shot Name Enter shot name. Schedule Enter targeted schedule. Sequence ID Enter sequence ID where shots will be inserted. If un-registered sequence ID is entered, errors might occur.

You can select users for each project in User - User by Project menu. If there are many users, you can search by User Type or Team. You can manage schedule in Projects Shot Task Overview / Asset Task Overview menu. The method of use is similar for both menus, so this guide takes Shot Task Overview as an example. <Shot Task Overview> <Asset Task Overview>

First, you can use Add Task function to register schedule. Search registration subjects in 'Shot Task Overview' menu. Select among searched shots to register schedule, and click Add Task button. You can use 'Check box or Ctrl+Click and Shift+Click to select many subjects simultaneously.

33 Enter information on the Add Task page. You must enter Task Type, Start Date, and End Date. Task type Select task type. Start date, End date Enter task schedule. Click and select dates on a calendar. If there is no Task type you want, you can register new task type in Environment - Task Type menu on the Admin Site.

Task Template bundles frequently registered tasks. To use 'Task Template' function, you need to make Task Template in Environment - Standard Template menu on the Admin Site. If you have registered a new 'Task Template, you need to register tasks to Task Template. Click Environment - Template by Task menu or Template per template.

35 And, on the selected template, click New button to register tasks. Register tasks and targeted schedule for each task on the Add Task to Template page. SEQ Enter the order number for each task. Task Type Select task type. Start Date and Duration Select duration, the number of days that are needed to complete tasks from the start date. Gantt Chart You can change registered task schedule with Gantt chart. Click Update button after changing your schedule. If there is no Task type you want, you can register new task type in Environment - Task Type menu on the Admin Site.

36 Once 'Task Template is ready, search tasks that you want to set schedule for in Shot Task Overview menu. Select among searched subjects to register schedule, and click Task Template button. You can use 'Check box or Ctrl+Click and Shift+Click to select many subjects simultaneously. You can apply template. Start Date Select start date. Task Template Select template that you want to apply.

First, you can click Status in Shot Task Overview to modify one by one. Click Status to see details. You can modify start date, end date, etc. in Modify Task menu.

You can modify schedules in Task Duration menu.

Click Shot Schedule button in Shot Task Overview menu. You can move or change length the Schedule Bar on Gantt chart to modify schedule. Click Update button after changing your schedule.

Select shot or asset in Scheduling menu on the left. And, click Detail button of the schedule that you want to delete. You can delete selected schedule on the Modify Task page. You can delete schedule only in Scheduling menu currently. The next version will include additional deleting functions in Shot Task Overview and Asset Task Overview menus.

There are two artist registration methods. First, you can click Status in Shot Task Overview to select one by one. Click Status to see details. You can select artist in Assign Task menu. You can filter by skill, team, and status. Also, after selecting artist, click Check Schedule button to check schedule of the artist.

Select schedules that you want to assign to the artist, and click Modify button. You can use 'Check box or Ctrl+Click and Shift+Click to select many subjects simultaneously. You can select artist in Assign Task menu on the Modify page. You can filter by skill, team, and status. Also, after selecting artist, click Check Schedule button to check schedule of the artist. You cannot select multiple artists. This method lets you designate a single artist for different tasks.

There are two ordering methods. First, you can click Status in Shot Task Overview to order one by one. Click Status to see details. You can modify Status in Modify Task menu. If Status is changed to Ready, the result will appear in the artist s My Assigned menu. After ordering to start task, Schedule Manager pay attention to 'Shot Task Overview and 'Asset Task Overview.

Select subject in Shot Task Overview menu, and click Modify button. You can use 'Check box or Ctrl+Click and Shift+Click to select many subjects simultaneously. You can modify Status in Modify Task menu. If Status is changed to Ready, the result will appear in the artist s My Assigned menu. After ordering to start task, Schedule Manager pay attention to 'Shot Task Overview and 'Asset Task Overview.

Wormhole will inform you the tasks you need to work on today. My Assigned Shot and My Assigned Asset have Schedule Today and Not Finished menus respectively. - Schedule Today : Assigned tasks which are scheduled for today will be shown. - Not Finished : Unfinished tasks will be shown. If the status of task is Waiting even if they are scheduled for today, they will be shown under Not Finished section. <Schedule today Before order; No assigned task> <Schedule today After order; Tasks that are ready and are in progress> <Not finished Tasks on standby; Unfinished tasks>

If you click Start button, the status will automatically change to ing. If it is the first time to start a task, you need to click Create Directory button on the Start Work page to create Work Directory on artist s PC. If there is any function that does not work properly, try click Create Directory.

47 After creating 'Work Directory, you can choose one of the softwares supported by Wormhole. Wormhole supports Maya, 3Ds Max, Softimage Xsi', and Nuke. If you work on software supported by Wormhole, your data will be saved under Work Directory. If you work on software that is not supported by Wormhole, you need to save data under Work Directory by yourself. <Software supported by Wormhole> <Software not supported by Wormhole>

There are two methods to Review request. Basic review request Attach a movie or image file less than 250MB or give a link to it and send to internal or external users. FTP review request Used when link/attached file of any size and any formats to external users. Reviewer (Approver) and Reviewer (CC) will receive Review request. - Reviewer (Approver) can propose opinions and choose Confirm or Reject. - Reviewer (Approver) just like a Team Leader, recommends staff who have the authority for Changing Progress Status. - The authority for Changing Progress Status can be set in User - User Type menu on the Admin Site. - Reviewer (CC) only can propose opinions about reviews.

Basic review request Proceed task ( Artist ) Start task Review request Review Check review Publish (Data upload) If you want to do Basic review request, Click Review button on the right side of job to need review in Scheduled Today or Not Finished menus. If you don t want to upload to web server or file is over 250MB, you give a ink to the file in Local file URL. In this case, files will not be sent, therefore files must exist in receiver s PC or file server. If you want to attach a image or movie file under 250MB, you can attach the file in Upload file. Only mp4 format supported for movies. Drag and drop image or movie files to attach, or click Browse button and select. Select Reviewer (Approver). Select Reviewer (CC). Write comments. Send request the review.

FTP review request Proceed task ( Artist ) Start task Review request Review Check review Publish (Data upload) If you want to do FTP review request, Click Review button on the right of job you need to review in Scheduled Today or Not Finished menus. And click FTP review button.

51 If you click 'FTP Request' button, Review Tool will appear. Enter a receiver s FTP address in FTP Setting menu on Review Tool. Enter the name of External User s company or computer. Enter the host of External User s company or computer. Enter the ID of External User s company or computer. Enter the password of External User s company or computer. Enter the port of External User s company or computer. The default setting of the port is 21, but you can enter any other set port. Get access to entered FTP address. Click Status button in Shot Task Overview or Asset Task Overview menus on the Projects page. You can modify Status in Modify Task on detailed information page. Modify the status to Final. Schedule Manager pay attention to 'Shot Task Overview and 'Asset Task Overview. If the status of any task changes to Final, assign artist for the next task and order to start.

You can easily search your products (image/movie) created during a specific period.

73 First, you can search the published information by entering asset, shot, task, and period on the left of the Daily View page. For example, if you want to check the Shots that were produced in the last three days, check Shot and enter 3 in the period section. Then, you will see the list of Shots that were produced in the last three days. You can see ID, name, publishing date, preview image/movie, artist, and comments of Shot or Asset. You can save the frequently searched condition for further use. For example, if you hold a modeling team meeting regularly, once in a seven day period, check Asset, select Modeling task, and enter 7 in period section. And, enter name and click Save Search Key button. Then, you will be able to search faster next time.

If the 'Status is same or lower than the progress rate of Ready, the bar graph will show Not Started, and if higher In Progress. If the progress rate is 100%, it will be Finalized. 0% ~ 5% Ready (5%) < 6% ~ 99% 100% You can modify the Progress Rate of Status or create new Status in Environment - Status menu on the Admin Site.

The blanks means, no schedule is entered for that time. Using this information you can modify schedule more effectively and use in Team Schedule menu more effectively.

In the example below, the sequence Sq003 has Animation, Rendering, and Composite tasks; there are three Animation tasks - two are Not started and one Working; the progress rate is 18.3%. The Status affects the progress rate. Three Animation tasks of the Sequence Sq003 has one Waiting, one Ready, and one Ing, the progress rate is 18.3%, which is the average of 0% + 5% + 50%. You can modify the Progress Rate of Status or create new Status in Environment - Status menu on the Admin Site.

If you check POPUP and enter notice, pop-ups will appear on the screen of all users who are logged in.

83 If notice was entered while users were not logged in, notice can be checked in My Task Notification - Bulletin Board menu, which is the first screen that users will see when they log in. You can check users who have read notice on the BBS Notice - Detail page. And if you click Pop Up button, you can make pop-ups reappear on the screen of users who have not read the notice yet.

Messages in Wormhole cannot be deleted and will be saved permanently. Also, you can chat with other users, send s, and connect to Skype ID. - You can select and send messages directly, or by using your favorite group. - You can select tasks related to asset or shot, or attach files when sending messages. - You can quickly search messages by using message filtering function. If recipients are logged in Wormhole, messages will pop up on screen of recipients. If recipients are not logged in Wormhole, the number of Messages will increase in the upper right corner.

85 You can create Favorites by grouping contacts of your choice. If you click a group, users who belong to the group will be selected as message receivers. You can modify/delete groups by right clicking. You can use a Member to chat, send s, connect to Skype, and exchange messages with specific users. If you click user name, you can see all messages exchanged between selected user and you. If you click icon you can exchange messages in real time. If you click icon you can send an . Information about sent s will not be saved. If you click icon you can connect to Skype. You can enter Skype ID in My Information menu on the User Site.

Then, you will see the list of Shots that were produced in the last three days.

87 After searching data you want to back up, click CSV Export button to download the list of searched data. And click Data Copy button to execute Data Copy Tool and select downloaded CSV File on Data Copy Tool. If you want to back up Texture and Cache files together, check on checkbox first and then select CSV File. Lastly, select back up directory and click Copy button to back up. If back up is completed, a folder will be created with back up date and time.

You can add or modify it in Task Type pages Task Types are registered by default. - Each Task is categorized by task name and display color - Each task display color can be changed using the color palette. By default 21 Task Types are added in the wormhole. It is not recommended to add task type by same name. Moreover, the task number and task name of default task types are unchangeable.

Asset View Here you can search for the assets used in a particular project. - You can search assets by asset tag, asset ID or search by the designated owner of that asset. - Click + in the asset list to see the publish version and task type of that asset - Click publish version in the publish history list to see detailed asset information for that version. - Shot lists shows the shot information such as shot name, shot version, new version etc. Choose Project Search Tag Choose users Search ID Version and task information

Media view In user system, you can see the reference media what registered from Admin System. - Each medium is managed by tag. - Media can be played by RV player or default player. - Click Details to see the meta data or modify tag. 178 - You can upload Media from User system. Image file is the thumbnail image that is shown in Media View. Media file is a file that will be played by RV or Play button. Media file must be in File Server so that it is shared across all users. Multiple tags can be added separated by comma. - You can combine multiple tags in a group while registering new media or by modify tag option. If you put Group name/ (Group name + /) before tag names, the tags are placed in that group. If you want to create groups hierarchy, you can use multiple group names Ex) If you put name1/ name2/ tag1 as a tag, tag1 will be placed in group name2 and name2 is placed under name 1 as a sub group. Group does not affect the tag itself, rather it helps in efficient management of tags.

179 - You can upload multiple Jpeg images using Batch Upload option You can choose JPEG images by folder, put tag and upload by clicking the export button. Multiple tags can be used separated by semi colon (;) If image size is less than 512x512px, it will be sent to the web server and original image will be deleted. [Task output data is the data published using add movie and wormhole s other publish data functions] - You can search the published assets/shots task output s ID, date, and task type. - Frequently used search criteria can be saved for later use. - Media file can be published using Add Movie button without using other publish data functions. - Use checkbox to play multiple files in RV Player as a single movie. - If the comments are modified, modified information is ed to the user. - Output data information can be exported in CSV file, the output data can be copied using CSV file. 181 Daily view publishes the path of the file. Therefore, when using Add movie to publish a file, the file must be place on file server. By using the Data Copy feature on DailyView page, user can duplicate searched data and back up data for that project. Shot/ Asset Task overview Shot/asset task overview page shows the progress of asset/shot and other related information. - By clicking on shot/asset ID, Details and Review records can be verified. - Schedule can be checked and modified using Gantt chart. - Change progress status of shot/assets or input contents in the columns, and changes can be saved - Following functions can be performed on the selected assets/shots from the list You can modify the artist, progress and schedule of the selected items. Register new schedule to the selected items using add task or add template buttons. - You can print the current task overview. - Items searched through filtering, altered column orders can be saved. - Below mentioned functions can be performed by clicking on the task status Send message or request a review for that task. Check details of the task. You can change task status, progress, schedule and also assign artists to that task. You can check the review history of selected tasks. 185 Asset/shot schedule can be checked and modified using Gantt chart. Changed in that schedule can be saved using Update button on Gantt chart. Click on status column fields to change the status of a task. Click on reserved field cells to add memo. You can also change the header of reserved field columns, for more details refer to Admin system rename reserved fields You can save the changed column configurations using update button.

You can bring information you need, filter and connect nodes. - Node view consists of 3 main parts : Node View Canvas, Properties panel and details panel. - The options of Node vary for each user type. 191 - Drag and drop an icon from node icon bar to create a note. Clicking on some nodes will bring options in the property panel. Select desired property and double click node to see its details in details panel and functions in property panel. Click on nodes if you want to modify their property. Once you a create a node, selected node and its information will be on property page. The default node list contains more node options than node icon bar.

192 Drag and drop post-it icon on node view canvas to create a memo to write on. Compound node can group several nodes. Click on canvas and drag mouse over desired nodes to select nodes that you want to group, then click compound icon to group them. Double click compound node on canvas to see individual nodes. Click close node to close the individual nodes of a compound node. <Compound node> <Post-it> To connect nodes, click and drag the small circle on the side of node. Clicking that circle highlights the possible points where that node can be connected. 1 2 To disconnect nodes, click the line connecting two nodes and press delete button on keyboard.

193 Not every node can be connected, some such cases are shown below - If parent child relationship exist, reverse connection is not possible e.g.) Since sequence is always higher than shot, shot cannot be connected directly to sequence - If there is no relationship between connecting nodes 예 ) Since there does not exist a relationship between sequence and assets, those two nodes cannot be connected with each other. - If there is a limit on the number of nodes that can be connected 예 ) A sequence can have multiple shots but a shot can have only one sequence, So connecting shot with multiple sequence nodes is not allowed. Right click on canvas to open node view menu, from that menu, current node tree can be saved or shared with other users. To share a node tree, that node tree must be saved first. Saved node view list will be shown by project. Saved Node

194 Project Node It brings project information. Project node shows the overview of a project. When it is connected to other nodes, it also sends its project information to those nodes. Project Overview is same as User System Project View Overview

195 Sequence Node It brings Sequence information. Sequence node shows the sequence information. When it is connected to other nodes, it also sends its sequence information to those nodes. Choose Project - Sequence information include Sequence movie, Total frames, Total duration, Total Artists, and Supervisor Sequence movie is the movie which is made by Generate sequence movie node and it also plays the updated movie version. - Sequence progress shows the progress and schedule of each sequence shot. - Progress Analysis Chart shows the overall progress of sequence.

196 Shot Node It shows shot information. Shot node shows shot information and when it is connected to other nodes, it also sends shot information to those nodes. Movie Node It shows the list of published movies connected to shots or assets. It can t work alone. It requires to be connected to shot/asset node and task node to see the published movies. To see the Sequence movie list, use sequence movie list node.

201 Sequence Movie Node You can open publish history of sequence movie. You need to connect to node to use. Assign Node It assigns tasks. It can t work alone, assign node can be used with asset/shot node, task node, and user node.

202 Generate Sequence Movie Node You can create an image/movie with shots under sequence. You need to connect to sequence node to use. - If you open a list, the latest shots or shots per task type will open. - Any list that does not include published image will show nofile None. - Parts without movies will also be included in images. It will show nofile None - Select checkbox and choose resolution and quality. - Comments will appear in publish history of sequence.

203 4. User System 4. Messages 1. Send message From Message tab you can chat with other users, send them and also connect via skype. When sending a message, user can select an asset or shot related to which the message is being sent and can also attach file with the message. Message can be sent to single and multiple users, use favorite group to connect with multiple users. You can search messages by task type. Attached files will be sent to the web server.

It has three options : Normal / Urgent / Postpone After a task is registered, its schedule can be changed using Gantt chart

Template can be registered, modified, and deleted in Admin System Standard Template When template is applied, today is the default start date and can be modified later.
