1 Public Beta Software Release Notes Software version: Released on: 20 March 2015 Supersedes version: Released on: 28 November 2014 Public Software Release Notification Jands Vista software has been released as a Public Beta. The software has undergone rigorous testing on a number of private beta testing sites around the world however such testing has its limitations. The Public Beta has been made available to provide an opportunity for much wider testing of the software by current Vista users. The Public Beta software is work-in-progress, and does not necessarily include all functionality that will be included in the shipping software release. The following characteristics may also occur: Unforeseen crashes Incorrect operation of some functions There are significant risks associated with using beta software in critical applications and therefore the software should only be used in such applications if you, the user, deem it suitable to do so. If you choose to use the software on a show Jands strongly recommends a backup console be available should things go wrong. Shows created or saved in this version cannot be used in older versions of Vista. Application installation packages for this software release are available for consoles, Windows PC and Mac OSX. Installation of this software version on an L5, T4, T2 or I3 will require using the ISO image file to update. Please note, the ISO creation procedure has changed. The new procedure is outlined in technote TBJLT168 which is attached to these release notes. 2 New Features and Improvements D1 o Implemented the support for the D1 Distributed Processing o Distribution of processing across the nodes in the network on applicable hardware. Custom Features o Vista now offers users the ability to create pages with your choice parameters on encoders. This can be accessed via the console menu or, with some fixtures selected by pressing custom and then assign on the superplayback control to open up the encoder customisation window. Q-View o In v2.3 we have added a new feature which changes the way users navigate and view cues when editing their cuelists. Q-View gives users the ability to preview what a cue that is not currently outputting to stage will look like directly in their fixture chooser. User Preferences o User Preferences window is now non-modal, i.e., allows user to interact with rest of app while still open. Solo o Implemented solo for groups and cuelists Fixture Chooser o Changed the location of the tabs for the feature panel side bar from the bottom to the top. o The Fine button in the position panel now sets the pan/tilt slider to fine mode instead of superfine mode. To get superfine mode, the user needs to press the fine modifier key at the same time. o Feature palettes are coordinated with chooser when QView is enabled Connect Universes o The connect universes window is now modeless allowing it to stay open while still allowing interaction with the rest of the app. Networking Dialogue o The networking dialogue is now modeless allowing it to stay open while still allowing interaction with the rest of the app. MIDI o MIDI Note request for Flash and Release This has been implemented as though it was a flash button, so it only releases if the cuelist property is set to autoplay and release. Tracking Backup o There have been changes to the operation and significant improvements to the stability of tracking back up.
