5 1. Applications The GMST software is for companies that perform electrical tests. It is the ideal solution for large industrial companies, hospitals, rental and service of electrical and medical equipment, etc. Main features: Tree structure, nesting possibility and easy situation preview, Multiple database engines (external and local), possibility to import data from local to external database (work offline), notifications, Communication with multiple testers, Simplified navigation, tree object -> tests table, multiple test types depends on users needs, Reports and stickers (labels). Help functions: Search engine for tree objects and tests, Administration tools with user activity log, Database backup, Import from ETC and PAT Manager. System Requirements for GMST Operating system / Software: Microsoft Windows XP (service pack 2), or later Windows (Vista, 7, 8, 8.1, 10).net Framework Version 4.0, (later version should include 2.0) Hardware PC: The minimum amount of ram, allowing for smooth operation of the operating system Minimum resolution 1024 x MB of free disc space + space for each customer database ( depends on user needs) Mouse / Keyboard For communication with tester : Free usb port For installation and registration of GMST, the user should have administrator rights. 7 3. Installation To install the program, start the installation from the CD or download the program from: First, select the installation language and press Ok The Welcome window appears. To continue, press Next GMC-I Messtechnik GmbH GMST Page 7

9 Now you have to decide if you want shortcut on desktop. Next choose destination folder for GMST. Click Install, to start installation. Installer will close when installation is complete. 21 5.2 Renew Software activation Caution! Program license is one workstation only. To work on more workstations you have to buy moveable license. To use program on another workstation you have to unregister or uninstall program from previous workstation and send statement to us ) you cannot register and activate program on another workstation within 6 months. If you want to activate software again on one workstation you can use the same data you get at first activation. 22 6. Update Software Open the GMST-Software. Click in the Mainmenu on the button Menu, then Update. A new window is opening that shows the version of the installed program as well as the latest version that is available. Besides that, the added features of the latest version are listed below. 23 7. Add new Customer In order to add new customer click in main menu on the Icon New. A new window Add customer will appear. Here, you enter the customer data. In contact person click on the button Assign person. Here you select the contact person, by selection or you can add a new person and then in order to confirm click on Confirm selection. 9. Read measurements from the tester After you select the menu

Here you enter your data in the table of values and put a check in the table cell Evaluation. Finally, click on Save. Your own test appears in the tab Other tests. 33 16. Creating templates First, select the desired device ID, then activate the tab Other tests. Then click on the icon Templates. The Data base of other tests window opens. Then click on Start test. In order to implement this, click with the right mouse button on the device name, then with the left mouse button on Change evaluation and to Positive. 37 19. Printing Reports First, select your device check under the tab Tests. Then click on the tab Report and go in drop down menu on PAT Report. After a few seconds Report window will appear. You can make your selections and start a preview before printing. To print, simply click on the button Print. on the desired tests while pressing the Ctrl-button on your keyboard. After that, click on Report and follow the same steps that mentioned before.

If you wish to choose every single test of a device with on click, click on the empty area in the upper left corner. A dropdown will pop up. Select Report -> Items Info -> Child Items. The Report -Window appears.

Click the Search for tests -tab and define the period on the left sight. On the right side of the window the searched data sets are listed.

40 There is also an option to generate reviews of tests within a settable period. Click on Main and then on Search. The Appearing window Search allows the search of specific tests which are stored under the name of the chosen customer. Click the Search for tests -tab and define the period on the left sight. 20. Print Labels To print labels it is necessary to install the Brother SDK as well as the firmware P-Touch Editor published by brother. It s possible to design own labels with P-Touch Editor.

For this purpose start the firmware and click on New, then click on New Layout. Switch to the professional-mode by clicking on the Professional - button at the bottom of the window. With the bar on the right side, which appears in the professional-mode, it is possible to insert text-boxes, pictures, barcodes etc. GMC-I Messtechnik GmbH GMST Page 41

42 If you want to insert a barcode on the label, that supposed to modify by the GMST-Software, click on the barcode-symbol on the right. It will open up the Properties of barcode -window. 43 In order to modify the placed objects by GMST, the properties of theses has to be customized. For the purpose to customize the inserted barcode, click with the right mouse-button on it and select Properties. Switch to the Advanced -tab and type into the Objectname -line IncludeDeviceId. Type again IncludeDeviceId in the Objectname -line. It is also possible to modify textboxes by GMST. Therefor insert a textbox in label-layout. Click Advanced in the properties-window of the textbox. 51 26. Installation notes for advanced User Both GMST and GMSTSelfHost contains several tools to configure database and all communication modules in automatic mode. Those tools will start after the first run of the software. But there is an option to configure everything manually. Notes for database-configurations: MS SQL Server should uses both authorization types (mixed and Windows based). All database setting can be configured by SQL Management Studio. This software can be downloaded from following localization: GMST and GMSTSelfHost store main settings in system registry. User can run regedit tool to explore/change settings. Those settings are stored in X64bit system HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\GMSTEngine X86 system HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\GMSTEngine GMC-I Messtechnik GmbH GMST Page 51

52 There are two kind of changeable settings: ConnectionString: This setting is using a main connection to GMST database. Connection information provided in connection string, should allow to any standard CRUD operations (create, write, read, update, delete) and for backups. LocalConnectionString: This is used to configure GMSTEngine database user. By default it uses standards windows based SQL authorization. GMC-I Messtechnik GmbH GMST Page 52

53 Notes for endpoint-configuration: GMSTHostService uses technology Self-Host WCF Services. To use the service you must make sure that no application is listening on the port selected by the administrator for communication. In view of the need to register the WCF service, run the program as an administrator. To enter the firewall settings, open the control panel, then System and Security -> Windows Firewall.
